Sheriff’s Office
— A deputy responded at 1:02 a.m. Tuesday to an address on Cream Ridge Road, Elkrun Township where prowlers had been reported. The caller told the deputy the people had been under his trailer for the last four to six hours, however, when he called the sheriff’s office, he told the people he called and they fled on foot. He didn’t know who they were or where they went. The deputy checked around the property with the caller, but did not locate anyone or any evidence of anyone being around.
— A deputy was dispatched at 5:05 p.m. Saturday to Old Irondale Road, Yellow Creek Township, for reported neighbor troubles. The deputy spoke to both parties involved and advised them how to proceed and move forward.
— An animal-related call was reported at 10:03 p.m. Friday at Richardson Street, Middleton Township . The owner of the animal was told how to proceed.
— A deputy was dispatched at 5:36 p.m. Tuesday to the 11500 block of Steubenville Pike Road, Center Township for cows in the roadway. No cows were found.
Salem
— Officers on patrol in the 2200 block of East State Street at 1:09 a.m. Tuesday located a vehicle parked with its lights on. Officers checked on the person sitting inside the vehicle, who advised they had gone out for a drive because they couldn’t sleep.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of Walnut Street at 11:29 p.m. Monday for a warrant check. The woman in question, Kayla Clingerman, 39, Salem, was located on the front porch of a dwelling taken into custody and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.
— Officers responded with the fire department to the 800 block of East State Street at 10:26 p.m. Monday for a reported medical call. The person in question was treated by medical personnel.
— Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 8:38 p.m. Monday for a reported theft. The caller advised that a person had walked out with a television on March 31. Officers gathered all information and will be investigating the matter.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 7:57 p.m. Monday to assist the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Officers stood by until they were no longer needed.
— Officers responded to the 1300 block of Jennings Avenue at 5:46 p.m. Monday for a wellness check. The caller advised that they had not heard from an elderly relative. Officers were able to speak with the person in question, who advised that everything was okay.
— Officers on patrol in the 2200 block of East State Street at 5:17 p.m. Monday located a vehicle stolen out of Alliance. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and took the driver Ronald Keller, 52, East Rochester, into custody charged with receiving stolen property and transported him to the Columbiana County Jail.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of East Seventh Street at 4:37 p.m. Monday for a report of telecommunications harassment. The caller advised that a man would not stop texting him and requested that officers speak with the man about the potential consequences of continued telecommunications harassment and just document the incident for now.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of Bank Street at 12:01 p.m. Monday for a reported civil matter. The caller advised that they would handle the situation themselves.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of Franklin Avenue at 9:49 a.m. Monday for a reported domestic dispute. Officers spoke with all parties involved, and they agreed to separate for the evening.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of West State Street at 7:19 a.m. Monday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised that it appeared there was blood splattered on a wall. Officers determined the substance was just paint.
— Officers on patrol in the 1800 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 2:24 a.m. Thursday located a suspicious vehicle parked behind a building. Officers checked the vehicle and found it unoccupied.
— Officers on patrol in the area of East State Street and Washington Avenue at 10:23 p.m. Wednesday conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation. K-9 Fero was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotics coming from the vehicle. Contraband was recovered, and the passenger, Zackary McFarland, 27, Columbiana, was taken into custody charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and transported to the Columbiana County Jail. The driver was issued a written warning for the equipment violation.
— Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 10:19 p.m. Wednesday for a report of someone knocking on the door of the residence. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone.
— Officers responded to the area of Stone Castle Trail at 9:13 p.m. Wednesday for a reported suspicious vehicle. Officers spoke with the driver of the vehicle who advised that they were looking for their dogs which had run off.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of Walnut Street at 7:46 p.m. Wednesday for a reported noise complaint. Officers spoke with the person in question and advised them to keep the music down.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 7:14 p.m. Wednesday for a reported dog at large. The caller advised that a dog was running around in the road and had nearly been hit. Officers were unable to locate the dog.
— Officers responded to the 800 block of Adams Avenue at 7:06 p.m. Wednesday to check for a man with an active warrant. Nobody appeared to be present at the residence, and officers learned that the person in question was incarcerated in another county.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of Continental Drive at 5:25 p.m. Wednesday for a reported theft. The caller advised that one of their patients believed her bank account had been emptied and closed by a family member. The matter is under investigation.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of Continental Drive at 3:08 p.m. Wednesday for a reported verbal dispute. Officers spoke with the supervisor of the residential facility, and they advised that the matter was verbal only, and they just needed documentation.
— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Perry Street at 11:16 a.m. Tuesday for a reported 911 hang-up call. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the source of the call. Officers observed nothing out of the ordinary in the area.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of Franklin Avenue at 10:41 a.m. Tuesday for a reported 911 hangup call. Officers found that a construction company was working in the area and accidentally dialed 911.
Columbiana
— Scott Cooper, of East Liverpool, was cited at 2:53 a.m. March 28 for driving under suspension in the 44000 block of state Route 14.
— Michael Johnson, no address listed, was cited at 10:32 p.m. March 27 near state Route 46 and New Buffalo Road for driving under suspension.
— Michelle Wimer, no address listed, was cited at 9:10 p.m. March 27 in the 44000 block of state Route 14 for driving without a valid license after a traffic stop.
— Randy Callahan, of Lisbon, was cited at 4:17 p.m. March 27 near West Park a Avenue and North Pearl Street for driving while failing to reinstate following a traffic stop.
— Brandi Buchanan, of East Liverpool, was cited at 3:58 p.m. March 27 near Prima Healthcare with driving under suspension.
— Clarissie Zellers, of Salem, was cited at 7:18 p.m. March 26 for physical control after an OVI investigation on Old North Street.
— Police removed an unidentified subject at 2:25 p.m. March 26 from Factory 46 Tavern in Village Plaza.
