Highway Patrol
— Rhoda E. Kalamasz, 62, Aliquippa, Pa., was eastbound on Osbourne Road in Madison Township at 10 a.m. Sunday and went off the south side into an embankment and rolled over and came to rest in partially off the north side of the road. She was cited for failure to control and taken to the East Liverpool Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
— Roger W. Joy, 69, Steubenville-Pike, Lisbon, was southbound on Steubenville-Pike in Wayne Township at 8:35 a.m. Saturday and went off the right side into a ditch and rolled over against a tree. He was cited for failure to control.
— Shawn D. Bailey, 26, Leesville, Ohio, was northbound on state Route 9 in Hanover Township at 7:26 a.m. Nov. 6 and went left of center into Trisha L. Johnson, 50, Parkview Road, Hanoverton, who was southbound. Bailey was cited for lanes of travel.
— Caithlynne Lizabeth Godocsik, 29, Lincoln Avenue, Salem, was southeastbound on Old state Route 558 in Salem Township at 2:41 p.m. Friday and went off the right side into a utility pole. She was cited for failure to control.
— Robert F. Gossman, 80, Foundry Hill Road, Salineville, was attempting to pass Beatrice Evancho, 78, Summit Street, Salem, in Salem Township at 2:11 p.m. Friday and Evancho began improperly backing and struck Gossman. Evancho was cited for improper backing.
Lisbon
— Thomas D. Pitts, 36, Foundry Hill Road, Hanoverton, was cited for marijuana possession, driving left of center and driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop on state Route 154 at 8:26 a.m. Monday.
— Police were called to Smith Oil at 9 p.m. Friday, where a clerk reported Nicole Hilton had come in and out of the store 10 times since 6:15 p.m., causing a scene and making employees uneasy. Hilton would bring items to the counter to check out and then refuse to pay for them. Police caught up with Hilton and advised her to stay out of Smith Oil, but the officer doubled back and saw her back on the property, resulting in another warning.
— Police performed a welfare check on a woman living on West High Street about 5 p.m. Thursday. The woman came to the door and she said everything was fine.
— Charlotte Gilchrist, North Market Street, reported Oct. 28 her car was deliberately scratched with a key.
— Aaron Seidner, Summit Street, reported Oct. 29 someone he knows took his wallet.
— Police were called to a possible domestic dispute on Grandview Street at 12:30 a.m. Nov. 3 and spoke to Megan Hansen, who said her husband shoved her against the wall. She said her husband was drunk and she tried to stop him from leaving, but he shoved her out of the pickup truck and drove away. Hansen did not wish to press charges.
— Dennis W. Garrison Jr., 18, of Alliance, was charged with marijuana possession following a traffic stop on South Lincoln Avenue at 10:19 p.m. Nov., 5.
Salineville
— Police were called to the car wash for a report of a person in medical distress on Saturday. An ambulance was en route. However, as the situation progressed it was found the woman was just trying to use the ambulance to gain a ride to Salem. Police told her using an ambulance service as a taxi service should never be done.
East Liverpool
— Officers responded at 6:08 a.m. Sunday to the home of Thomas E. Gough, Lisbon Street for a disturbance, where Gough reported Kylie Kreefer, 22, Kings Ridge, arrived and started kicking his door and screaming. Gough and Bria Lane came outside, where Kreefer reportedly began fighting with Lane then left when told police had been called, knocking over Gough’s motorcycle while leaving. While officers were speaking with Gough, Kreefer returned and reportedly smelled of alcohol. She told officers she had had one beer, according to reports. Kreefer was charged with public intoxication. Both she and Lane had visible injuries from their alleged fight, according to officers, who advised them the procedure for filing charges.
— Gary A. Redman, 42, Steubenville, was stopping or slowing for traffic near the crosswalk on West Eighth Street when his vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Austin T. Allison, 19, Illinois Street, who told officers he was messing with his windshield wipers, looked up and saw that Redman had stopped. Redman’s passenger, Lillie M. McIntosh, 44, Steubenville, complained of back and neck injuries and was transported by ASI to the hospital. Allison was cited for assured clear distance.
— Andrew R. Talbert, 21, Spring Grove Road, was eastbound on Pennsylvania Avenue when he failed to negotiate a turn onto Elizabeth Street, losing control of his vehicle. The vehicle struck a curb and overturned onto its side. Talbert was cited for failure to control.
— An officer was called about a juvenile wanting to run away from home, who was in a vacant house and wanted to go to the Tobin Center, saying he was going down the wrong path in life. The juvenile was transported back home where the officer spoke to his mother about how to file unruly juvenile charges against him.
— A window at the New Dimension Bar were smashed out with a piece of cement which also knocked items off a shelf inside the bar.
— Called for a woman passed out at the wheel of a car on Dresden Avenue, officers reported the woman denied having fallen asleep. The city’s ambulance responded and checked the woman.
— Officers responded to Giant Eagle for reports of juvenile who was jumped by several girls. The juvenile told officers she had been with the girls earlier but they left to buy marijuana and, while she was walking down Ravine Street, one of the girls ran up behind her, grabbing her hair and punching her several times. The other girls then joined in, kicking and punching her, according to reports.
— Kala M. Buckel, North Shady Lane, reported both of her driver’s side tires slashed.
St. Clair Township
— Jeanette B. Spencer, Cannons Mill Road, reported her purse stolen from her car parked unlocked in her driveway.
— John S. Danver, Lyle Street, reported his truck entered, ransacked and loose change stolen.
— Patrick Holler and Shirley Herron, Ross Street, reported their vehicles broken into with Holler’s wallet stolen and about $20 in change taken from Herron’s vehicle.
— Heidi A. Morris, Kelly Avenue, reported her vehicle entered in her driveway and her medical bag taken.
— Richard P. Thompson, Harvard Avenue, reported his credit card stolen.
— Tia L. Boyd, Cannons Mill Road, reported a shed entered by breaking a lock and a 2004 four-wheeler stolen.
— A Sheetz employee reported finding a wallet outside in the parking lot. It was given to officers to find the owner.
— A male Goodwill Industries customer threatened to drive through the building if he was not allowed to return an item. Officers reported that, after speaking with a manager and the customer, a refund was approved as long as the man agreed not to return to the store.
— Officers were called to Adrian’s Restaurant for a fight inside, with no other details reported.
— Katherine Hissam, Walker Road, reported her purse stolen from her vehicle which was parked at her home. The credit cards in the purse were then used at various businesses, one of which declined the card when a purchase of more than $320 was attempted. A surveillance video at Walmart reportedly showed Anthony Wagoner using the stolen credit card, accompanied by a woman police also identified. Reports indicated Wagoner was to be charged with misuse of a credit card.
— Whitney M. Kosek, Walker Road, reported her purse stolen from her vehicle in the driveway and her debit card used a several locations for more than $118. Officers reported viewing surveillance video from Walmart showing the card being used by Anthony Wagoner, 38, and Catherine Minor, 39, then leaving in a truck registered to Minor’s husband. Police reported Wagoner was viewed in another video from a gas station using the card to pay for gas and also reported there have been other transactions involving Wagoner and Minor using different stolen credit cards. Reports indicated they were charged with theft. No addresses were reported for Wagoner and Minor.
Salem
— Police responded to the 600 block of East Sixth Street for a case of telephone harassment reported at 9:10 p.m. Sunday. Officers spoke with two people who advised there was an ongoing issue with one of their co-workers. Officers listened to a prank call that was left on the telephone. They were told to block the number.
— A case of possible sexual imposition was reported at 6:48 p.m. Sunday on West Perry Street involving a boy inappropriately touching another boy living in the same household. Officers had the two separated for the evening and a detective was advised, with the incident under investigation.
— Jeffrey Adams, 31, of Lexington Avenue, was cited for disobeying a traffic control device and possession of marijuana and paraphernalia after an accident at the intersection of North Lincoln and East Sixth at 2:26 p.m. Sunday. Adams was northbound on Lincoln when he allegedly became distracted by an unknown sound outside and ran the red light, getting struck by a westbound vehicle driven by Fred Dabelstein, 77, of Buckeye Avenue. Officers noticed a smell of marijuana coming from the Adams’ car and cound a marijuana pipe and a grinder containing a trace amount of pot.
— Donna Heverly, 88, of Teegarden Road, was cited for failure to yield after pulling from Walmart onto East State and into a westbound vehicle driven by Madison Woolman, 25, of Columbiana, who said she tried to move over but there was another vehicle also traveling west beside her in the right lane.
— Police were called at 10:38 a.m. Sunday to Smith Oil, 968 E. State St., for a report of a theft/shoplifting. Officers located a man matching the description in the 1100 block of East State Street and he denied the allegation and responded back to the store with officers. The woman who called in the report confirmed that two men had been dressed alike. Officers explained the situation to the man and apologized for the mistake. They were unable to find the person involved.
Perry Township
— Police were called to Snyder Road at 3:23 p.m. Sunday for a semi truck that got stuck turning around. Police were requested by Davidson’s Towing to direct traffic while they removed the vehicle.
— A caller at 7:11 a.m. Sunday reported a female in the 1100 block of West Perry making suicidal comments. The woman told police she didn’t make any comments and had no intention of hurting herself. She said she was having an argument with a relative.
— A domestic in progress was reported at 2:47 a.m. Sunday in the 1300 block of Franklin Avenue in the city, with Salem Police requesting assistance. It was determined that it was not a domestic but was a complaint of a barking dog.
— Ronald A. James III, 47, whose last known address was Cuyahoga Falls, was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence, failure to control and a minor misdemeanor of open container in a motor vehicle after a traffic stop at 8:08 p.m. Saturday at the U.S. Route 62/state Route 45 interchange. Police had been sitting stationary when the vehicle drove northbound at an alleged high rate of speed, attempted to stop but drove onto the gravel and passed the cruiser, coming to a stop before the dropoff. Open containers of alcohol were found inside the vehicle. The vehicle was towed from the scene and a friend picked James up from the station.
— A car/deer accident was reported at 5:49 p.m. Saturday on Newgarden Road.
Goshen Police District
— Richard R. Quinn, 70, Youngstown, was cited for failure to control following a one-vehicle crash at Seacrist Road and state Route 14 at 7:46 p.m. Saturday in which he was northbound and traveled into a ditch. His passenger, Mary P. Quinn, 62, Youngstown, was transported by Damascus EMS to St. Elizabeth Health Center with possible injuries.
Lisbon
— A residential fire alarm went off at 7293 Davnor Road at 7:04 p.m. Sunday, but the the call was canceled after it was determined the alarm was set off from smoke from cooking.
