County Sheriff

– Connee Cline, Ellyson Road, East Rochester, reported at 3:51 p.m. Tuesday two tires with Jeep rims were stolen from the back of her truck while it was sitting in her driveway.

Highway Patrol

– Neil J. McLaughlin, 54, Chester, W.Va.,, was northwestbound on U.S. 30 in Madison Township at 6 a.m. Monday and hit a raccoon.

Columbiana

– A woman reported at 7:13 a.m. Tuesday someone was messing with a power screw driver at the car wash by where the money is kept. Police checked the business and found it was an employee changing the plaque cards.

– J. Pariso of Columbiana was stopped facing westbound on Pittsburgh Street at the railroad tracks and Allen Jones of Columbiana was behind Pariso and struck his vehicle from behind. No citations were issued.

– A Pittsburgh Street woman reported at 11:20 a.m. a neighbor keeps coming onto her property.

– Sarah Best, Fairfield Avenue, reported at 12:52 p.m. Tuesday she wanted to file a theft report against her ex-husband, Michael Cobbin, who lives in Akron and has had her car for more than six months and is refusing to give it back.

– A man reported at 11 p.m. Tuesday there was a domestic at the Columbiana Manor apartments and that the man involved was outside his building covered in blood. Police went to the apartments and spoke with the injured man who declined an ambulance. No charges were filed.

East Palestine

– A woman, name and address not listed, reported at 12:25 p.m. Tuesday a man she knows has continued to drive past her home beeping his horn and yelling at her, and that the man has already been told by other East Palestine police and Lisbon police to stay away from her and her family.

– Police arrested Lee T. Knight, 19, address not listed, at 12:58 p.m. Tuesday on Bacon Avenue on a county warrant for failure to appear on obstructing justice and criminal trespass charges.

– Scott A. Rogers, 21, address not listed, was cited for driving under suspension and possess of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop on West North Avenue at 9:41 a.m. Friday.

– Police were called to the former East North Avenue school at 7:49 p.m. Saturday for a report of several kids trespassing on the property and possibly trying to break in. The kids were not there when police arrived.

Lisbon

– A caller reported there were two children in diapers in the middle of East Washington Street by the Bettie Lee Dance Studio at 8:40 a.m. Tuesday. Police did not find any children about when they arrived.

East Liverpool

– Responding Tuesday afternoon to a report of a woman climbing through a window of an Illinois Street house, officers found the woman inside. She said she is looking for a place to rent and was checking out the house. Officers said nothing appeared disturbed inside and sent the woman on her way with a warning that the law director will be consulted about possible charges being filed.

– A mother reported a possible sexual assault on her 7-year-old child and the matter was referred to the detective’s bureau.

St. Clair Township

– Jamie L. Allen, no address listed, was charged with petty theft Monday after reportedly disassembling two iPads he took from the shelf at Walmart and concealing them on his person before leaving the store without paying. The iPads were valued at $886, according to reports.

– Officers charged Krista L. Medeiros, 18, no address listed, with petty theft Monday after she reportedly took two automotive air fresheners valued at $5.52 and left Wal-Mart without paying for them after paying for other items.

– Emily Braslawsce, Joy Lane, reported fraudulent activity on her debit card.

– Candy Wisenor reported items missing from and damage done to a house on state Route 267 which is involved in an eviction process, with the tenant having left the property.

– A manager at Advanced Auto Parts, St. Clair Avenue, reported a man identified only as John came in and switched bearings in a box while a store employee was distracted. The man then left without paying for the new bearings.

Wellsville

– A Broadway woman reported Monday someone stolen heating fuel from her tank outside her home. Police said she may want to look into a lock for the tank.

– A Center Street man reported Saturday a woman stole his phone.

– An 18th Street woman reported Friday her Caravan was struck sometime overnight. Police saw fresh damage to the bumper and taillight.

– A man April 20 asked police to check on his two grandchildren, both of whom are less than a year old. Police spoke to the woman’s brother, who said his sister would not be home until around 6 a.m. Asked where the children stay while their mother is gone, the brother said she takes the children with her while she is out partying.

– A woman April 20 tried to steal two two packs of children’s underwear and baby bibs from Family Dollar. The manager did not want to file charges but did want the woman banned from the store.

– A Riverside Avenue woman reported a break-in April 19 . She did not find anything missing.

– Abby Pierson of Salineville was charged with possessing drug abuse instruments after a traffic stop on state Route 7 near Kountz for a taillight violation. A syringe, two crack pipes, two burnt spoons, and two “tear offs” were found in her purse. She was a passenger in the pickup.

A woman who works as a aide for a Shoub Towers resident reported April 17 another tenant came up behind her, kissed her neck, grabbed her shoulders, played with her hair and made inappropriate statements to her. Police told the man to stay away from the woman and stay out of the residence.

Salem

– Kevin Ring, 56, of 1693 E. State St., was charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated after an officer at 8:01 p.m. Tuesday saw a passing motorist had stopped to assist a man on East State. Ring almost fell into traffic, but was stopped by a passenger in the vehicle. Officers thanked the motorist and passenger for their efforts. Ring was given a ride home, but while giving him the citation, officers saw contraband on him and confiscated it. Additional charges may be pending.

– A South Howard woman reported Wednesday that she allowed a female acquaintance to stay overnight and in the morning she found her phone missing along with 80 pills of her newly filled prescription. She only knew the woman’s first name. She called the woman, who said she couldn’t talk. She said she was getting arrested and hung up.

– A woman at 9:22 a.m. Wednesday reported she was at a business on North Ellsworth when her juvenile son was asked a question by an older man. She felt it was in appropriate. An officer located the man and told him to have no contact with the woman or her children again. He admitted talking to them but said he had done nothing wrong.

– An officer at 3:05 a.m. Wednesday saw a cookout fire that appeared excessively large at the rear of a Jennings Avenue home. They were told to downsize it to an acceptable level.

– An officer on patrol at 12:25 p.m. Wednesday saw a small fire at the rear of a home in the 100 block of Hawley Avenue and spoke with the resident about open burning.

– Police were called at 12:09 p.m. Wednesday for a man down near Highland and Third Street, but no one was found.

– Police responded to an open burning complaint at 11:33 a.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of Washington Avenue where a male resident said he was unaware that only cured wood could be burned. He put the fire out himself and the fire department advised of proper burning material. The fire was in a small steel fire pit with a cover over it.

– Police spoke to a man at the police department at 2:41 a.m. Wednesday who was transported there by the afternoon shift officer until he could find a place to stay. He found a place on Fourth Street and was transported there. Earlier at 11:27 p.m. Tuesday, police were called to South Lundy Avenue where the man said he had been kicked out of a residence. The resident of the home told police the man did not live there.

– Police were called at 9:56 p.m. Tuesday to assist fire department first responders in the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue where a second party had reported a male having chest pains. The male refused treatment.

– An officer in the area of Sharp Avenue and Prospect Street at 9:17 p.m. Tuesday saw a vehicle stopped with its tail lights illuminated near the propane tanks at Salem Oil. The officer stopped to check the vehicle and saw an employee with keys to the business was there.

– Police were called at 8:56 p.m. Tuesday to assist fire department first responders and EMT Ambulance with attempting to contact the parent of a juvenile injured in the 400 block of East Third Street. The juvenile resides in Perry Township, so township police were asked to attempt contact with the parents about the juvenile being taken to the emergency room.

– Loud music was reported at 8:27 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Newgarden Avenue and Liberty Street. The person playing the music addressed the issue.

– Police responded to Centennial Park at 8:24 p.m. Tuesday for a report of an unattended juvenile. The juvenile was found lost in the park and was assisted in locating a sibling who was able to lead officers and the juvenile to a residence on South Union Avenue. Officers spoke with a parent.

– An anonymous person contacted police at 7:19 p.m. Tuesday to report menacing by stalking and said someone damaged their plants.

– Police responded at 6:18 p.m. Tuesday for a dog at large report in the 1100 block of Cleveland Street. The owner took the animals inside.

Police

Perry Township

– Tammy J. Mason, 42, of 36048 U.S. Route 30, Lisbon, was taken into custody at 12:16 p.m. Tuesday on an active warrant from Columbiana County for failure to appear on a larceny charge. Mason was a passenger in a vehicle pulled over for a traffic stop on Cunningham Road and was handed over to a deputy. The driver of the vehicle, which had a broken out back window, was cited for driving under suspension. Megan Christina Ripley, 21, of 36048 U.S. Route 30, Lisbon, was driving the vehicle with four open suspensions. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

– During a traffic stop at 2:12 p.m. Monday on U.S. Route 62/West State Street, Shannon Dawn Thrasher, 28, of 1243 Pennsylvania Ave., East Liverpool, was taken into custody on an active warrant for failure to appear. She was taken to the police station and turned over to a deputy. Her boyfriend, who was a passenger, stayed with the vehicle and two small children until a valid driver arrived to drive the vehicle from the scene.

– Al Hofmann, of Andrew Avenue, reported at 1 p.m. Monday that his burning bush trees were trimmed back without his permission while he was out of state.

Salem

-John Tolson of Tolson Comfort Systems, 1547 Salem Parkway, reported Tuesday they found someone had shot a projectile through the back of their building which came through the outer wall and through an inner wall, striking a metal shelf. The projectile, which appeared to be lead, was on the floor. They do not know when it happened.

– Police responded to a littering complaint in the area of 2487 E. State St. for a dumpster that appeared to be overflowing, with trash around the base of the dumpster along with a putrid smell and flies. The grass hillside east of the parking lot had trash on it which blew from the dumpster. An officer cleaned up the hillside. Contact was made with the store manager who was told the problem needed addressed.

– A resident on Sharp Avenue reported at 11:55 a.m. Tuesday that she’s been constantly harassed by a neighbor since December when she moved in. She said the neighbor has now called Children Services on her and made up lies. She said the woman flipped off her mother and yells at her children using profane language. She’s gone to the landlord about the problem. Should the matter continue, the case may be reviewed for charges. An officer will try to talk to the neighbor.

– A Leetonia man reported at 6:09 p.m. Monday that he attempted to retrieve a tool belt with tools from a person he was working for and the person brandished a firearm and told him to get off his property, which was in the city. An officer made contact with the person and learned he suspected the man had knowledge or involvement in a recent burglary. He had the tool belt and said he would turn the items over to a detective since he wanted no contact with the man. The man was told not to come back and to call the police to see if the tool belt is returned and arrange to talk with a detective.

– An employee of Busy Beaver, 2340 E. State St., flagged down an officer at 4:41 p.m. Monday to report an unknown person was found inside the locked fence area after the business was closed.

– Store personnel at Walmart on East State Street reported at 6:39 p.m. Monday that a juvenile was left unattended. Personnel had attempted to locate a parent and were unable to find one. The mother was contacted and was able to take the juvenile home. The incident is under investigation.

– A woman in the 500 block of East Fourth Street called at 10:30 p.m. Monday to report an ongoing problem with hangup calls to her land line and harassing text messages to her cellphone. She was told to contact her phone providers and to also document the time and date of further calls and texts.

– A domestic was reported at 8:37 a.m. Tuesday, but both parties denied any verbal or physical altercation. There were no signs of domestic violence.

– A fight was reported at 3:10 p.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of East Third Street. Officers learned a male and others left in a Jeep westbound on East Third Street before they arrived. They were unable to find the vehicle. The male was allegedly attempting to get some other males to fight.

– Suspicious activity was reported at 1:13 p.m. Tuesday in the 1000 block of Cleveland Street. Officers talked with the residents in question and they denied any such action of anyone from Cleveland driving by in a vehicle and having a firearm.

– Police were called at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday to Shady Lane for an open garage door. Officers were able to secure it.

– A line was reported down in a yard in the 500 block of Jennings Avenue at 11:14 a.m. Tuesday. Firefighters had already been called about the line earlier and had determined it was cable and gathered it around the base of the pole. Time Warner was notified.

– An alleged dispute was reported at 3:57 a.m. Tuesday in the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard. Officers found the residence quiet and were unable to contact anyone.

– A suspicious vehicle was reported at 2:51 a.m. Tuesday in Waterworth Memorial Park. Occupants told officers they were just talking. They were told the park hours and to leave.

– While checking a business on Legacy Lane at 1:45 a.m. Tuesday, an officer saw a vehicle leaving the front of the building and initiated a traffic stop. The person was identified as an employee of the business.

– A resident on Franklin Avenue reported at 9:25 p.m. Monday reported a suspicious male has been trespassing at the scene of a recent fire in the 500 block, trespassing in a large metal waste container. No one was found.

– A large limb was reported down at 7:53 p.m. Monday in the 1500 block of North Ellsworth Avenue in the southbound lane. The street department responded with a front end loader to move the limb, which was too big to move by hand. Police handled traffic.

– Police were called at 6:12 p.m. Monday to check on an intoxicated female in the 900 block of East Fifth Street, but no one was found.

– Police were called to a railroad crossing at South Ellsworth Avenue at 5:07 p.m. Monday for a suspicious male loitering in the area. The person was identified and said he was photographing trains.

– An officer from another jurisdiction was at a business in the 2500 block of East State Street reviewing video surveillance video for a theft in his jurisdiction at 1:43 p.m. Monday when he noticed a female on the video concealing merchandise from the store. An attempt will be made to identify her for possible charges.

– A man on Sharp Avenue reported at 7:59 a.m. Monday that three known people were harassing him, showing up at his residence and his place of employment.

County Sheriff

– KLG Ambulance asked deputies to assist with a combative patient, Kristina Radcliff, Wooddale Drive, Hanoverton, at 11:25 a.m. Monday. She decided to become cooperative before deputies arrived.

– Jamey Bricker, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported at 8:54 a.m. Tuesday he checked his credit rating and learned someone opened an account for gas utilities under his name in 2008. There was an outstanding balance of $503 for the account, which was opened in Warren.

– Debbie Matthews, High Street, New Waterford, reported at 11:58 p.m. Monday she heard someone trying to get into the basement. Deputies checked all the possible entry points and the inside of the home without finding anyone.

– John Barrett, state Route 518, West Point, reported loud noises and a bonfire on an abandoned property at 11:32 p.m. Monday. Deputies found the fire out and everyone inside a trailer when they arrived.

– Marie Kayser, Spillway Road, Lisbon, reported at 1:20 p.m. Monday the mother of her son’s baby, Ariel Dunham, came to the house Sunday night, walked right in and started to yell. Dunham was reportedly upset over the arrest of Kayser’s son, Sean. Dunham also reportedly returned on Monday morning, walking right inside again, but left after being told to do so. Kayser asked for information about getting a protection order.

Highway Patrol

– Andrew M. Mayle, 40, Louisville, was westbound on U.S. 30 in Madison Township at 8 p.m. Monday and hit a deer.

– Donald L. Barnett, 61, Beloit, was southeastbound on state Route 39 in Yellow Creek Township at 10:40 a.m. Monday and went off the right side into a guardrail. He was cited for failure to control.

– George J. Eaton, 64, Brookdale Avenue, East Palestine, and Vicki L. Yeaples, 60, Prospect Street, East Palestine, were northbound on Hunston Road in Unity Township at 1:25 p.m. Friday and Eaton stopped and backed into Yeaples. Eaton was cited for improper backing.

– Ryan Mathew Hoschar, 18, East Main Street, Washingtonville, was eastbound on Butcher Road in Salem Township at 9:55 p.m. Friday and went off the left side into a ditch and a mailbox. He was cited for failure to control.

Columbiana

– Park manager Terry Shaffer reported at 8:11 a.m. Monday the towel rack in the boy’s restroom at the park was broken.

– Police were called to the high school at 9:30 a.m. Monday in reference to a text message one student received from another student.

– C.C. Gallagher, Uniontown, was attempting to make a left turn in a semi onto Walnut Alley at 9:57 a.m. Monday and became entangled with a light pole at the rear side of the tractor trailer. Gallagher was cited for turns at intersection.

– Diane Barto, Beverly Drive, reported IRS fraud at 2:45 p.m. Monday.

– A man reported at 6:43 p.m. Monday two kids were riding four-wheelers without any helmets in the area of Sixth and Edgewood. Police spoke to the children’s parents and told them to try to keep the go-carts on the grass.

– Jonathan Tul, state Route 14, requested a police escort to his home at 10:10 p.m. Monday.

Lisbon

– Melody Felton, West Maple Street, reported April 22 that $300 was stolen from her home while she was gone. She said her children had some friends over to the house but she does not know if any of them were responsible. Police said they would contact the kids’ parents to see if they know anything.

East Liverpool

– Irvin G. Papuga, no address listed, reported bank checks missing from his vehicle, possibly taken by a woman he had given a ride to East End.

St. Clair Township

– Walmart employees reported a man and woman entered the store Monday and selected 32 items and went through the checkout, paying for two items, including a bag of dry dog food. Officers reported the bag of food appeared to have grown in height and width, indicating the couple had concealed the stolen items inside the bag. The process of identifying the suspects is continuing, according to reports.

– Michelle Simballa, Cream Ridge Road, Elkrun Township, reported a suspicious vehicle resulted in some lawn damage on the property of Kevin Simballa, Rollercoaster Road, Elkrun Township, at 9 p.m. Saturday. Deputies initiated a traffic stop resulting in Garrett Mays, 17, of Lisbon, being cited for OVI.

– Howard Krug, Bowman Road, Homeworth, reported his mail box had been set on fire Sunday night.

– Ariel Durham, Spillway Road, Guilford Lake, reported the father of her children took their child without her permission at 8:56 p.m. Sunday. Shawn Kaiser was contacted and told he has no legal rights to the child if the mother says so. Kaiser turned the child over to deputies to return to Durham and was then arrested on two charges.

– Aaron Blower, Abbey Lane, Homeworth, reported some woman keeps driving around his neighborhood on Friday afternoon. Bower stopped her and the woman said she was interested in buying the home next door, but he found this suspicious.

– Jennifer Greathouse, Greenlawn Street, Minerva, reported Sunday finding syringes and spoons near the road.

– Holly Powell, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported Sunday someone stole 10 pallets and eight landscaping blocks from Touch of Serenity.

– Eric Blackburn, state Route 164, Columbiana, reported someone broke into his garage Thursday night and stole several items.

Lisbon

– Perry Bailey, West Pine Street, reported at 7 p.m. Saturday a person identified as Andrew Conner of Alliance showed up at his home and was banging on the door, claiming Bailey owed him money. Bailey denied knowing Conner let alone owing him money. Conner said he had picked up a person at a motel outside of town and gave him $120 for an Xbox. When Conner went to pick up the game system, the person ran into the apartment with his money. Conner was advised not to return and instead come to the police station if he wanted to file a report.

– A caller reported there was a dog running loose at 10:10 a.m. April 18. Police told the owner at 426 Greentree Place he needed to keep his dog on a leash.

– Police found a vehicle parked along Lions Club Road and a young man sitting on the side of the road at 10 p.m. Saturday. The man said he watching a video a friend had sent him on his phone. The man was told to move along.

– Police were called to a home on East Lincoln Way in regard to a man having an insulin attack at 9:31 p.m. April 15. The officer remained until an ambulance arrived to take the man to the hospital.

– Lloyd Abbott, North Market Street, reported Thursday the tenants in the rental property next door put the trash out, and animals tear into it, spreading it around in his yard. Police said they would speak to the tenant, Mark Brown.

Highway Patrol

– Frederick J. Figley, 58, North Market Street, East Palestine, hit a deer on state Route 165 in Unity Township at 8 a.m. Saturday.

– Dick A. Sachs Jr., 37, Y Camp Road, Lisbon, was southbound on state Route 45 in Salem Township at 1:20 a.m. Thursday and went off the right side into a ditch. He was cited for failure to control and OVI.

– Jason Mathew Barsky II, 21, Goose Creek, S.C., was westbound on state Route 517 in Elkrun Township at 8:11 p.m. Saturday and went left of center off the right side into a traffic sign. He was cited for failure to control.

East Palestine

– Police went to the middle school at 11 a.m. Friday for a 13-year-old girl was being unruly. The girl complied once the officer arrived and the matter was then handled by school officials.

– Angela M. Tondo, East Main Street, reported Friday that on Tuesday she noticed prescription medication was missing from her apartment, as well as several DVDs, and PlayStation 3 games, and that on Thursday she noticed several items were missing from her vehicle, including her GPS, auxiliary music adapter, cell phone charger, infant car seat and tanning lotion.

Columbiana

– A sheriff’s deputy reported at 3:31 p.m. Sunday there was a brush fire near 3992 state Route 11 and the Lisbon fire department was already on scene.

– A woman reported at 4:15 a.m. Saturday someone was driving recklessly on Park Place near Edgewood Drive. Police found it was a newspaper deliverer.

– Police assisted a sheriff’s deputy with receiving lawn ornaments from a Metz Road yard at 9:41 a.m. Saturday.

– A man reported at 11:53 a.m. Saturday there were two kids feeding the geese at the duck pond at the park. Police checked but the kids were already gone.

– Struthers police requested at 6:31 p.m. Saturday police check for a juvenile at a Prospect Street home. Police learned the girl no longer lived there.

– Police were called to the Missing Sock Laundromat at 6:45 p.m. Saturday for a report of a verbal dispute. No charges were filed.

– Tracie Anderson reported at 8:59 p.m. Saturday she was behind a red Dodge truck and an occupant was throwing out cans all the way from Wellsville on state Route 14. Police found the truck and the driver said the cans must have flown up in the air as he passed them.

– Brandon White, 36, Leetonia, was cited for driving under suspension and Emma Norman, 38, Lisbon, was cited for wrongful entrustment after a traffic stop on North Main at 10 a.m. Saturday.

East Liverpool

– Cornelius Peachey, address not listed, reported Saturday he dropped off his vehicle at a repairman’s house and the man’s girlfriend called to say it was done. When Peachey got there, his vehicle and the repairman were gone and their whereabouts unknown by the man’s girlfriend. He was advised to see the law director if he wishes to pursue charges.

– Jonathan Lao, St. Clair reported Sunday the rag top on his Mustang was cut overnight. Nothing appeared to be missing.

– Larry R. Toothman, East Fourth, reported the windshield broken on his vehicle while it was parked outside his residence.

St. Clair Township

– Officers responded Saturday evening to 16415 Staunton Ave. for a report of a burglary in progress, with the dispatcher able to hear someone trying to kick in the door. As officers headed to the scene, the caller reported the person responsible had left in a red Pontiac toward Lisbon Street and the vehicle was spotted at a stop sign at Center Street and state Route 267 and pulled over. The driver, Terrance B. Robinson, 24, Austintown, denied having been the one breaking into the house, saying he had been at the casino. He was detained while officers went to the Staunton Avenue address and spoke to the occupant, McDean Shreve, who said the man, whom he knew as TJ, had come to the house in a red Pontiac, demanding $300 owed to him for drugs from four or five months previously. When Shreve told the man he didn’t have the money and to leave, the man reportedly said he was returning in two hours and if the money wasn’t available he was going to shoot up Shreve’s house and his mother’s, then left. The man then returned and tried to kick in the door, then threw a brick and shovel through the window, he told police. Robinson was charged with burglary.

– Walmart employees reported seeing Brittany L. Hissom-Neely, 20, Trentvale Street, place items into a purse while Krissy L. Billiter, 21, Fairway Road, kept watch. – A wildlife officer reported seeing Roger Ingram, 24, Fairview Street, casting and reeling two separate fishing poles into the Ohio River. Initially, Ingram denied fishing but admitted it when told he had been observed casting his line. He was charged with fishing without a license.

Salineville

– Police were called at 10:25 a.m. Saturday after an alarm went off at the Railroad Auto Spa. Officers searched the area and asked the owner to check for damage.

– An East Main resident reported at 12:50 p.m. Satur-day a dog was excessively barking. The owner, Cagney Springer, was warned.

– Police were called at 1:55 a.m. Sunday regarding to a man passed out on the side of Maple Hill Road. Officers gave Lance Hawke a ride home.

– Police were called at 9:04 p.m. Sunday to an East Main home where Nicol Richter was unconscious with chest pains. She was taken to ELCH.

– An East Main resident reported at 4:32 p.m. Sunday a dog was running loose. Police secured the dog whose owner could not be determined. The dog may be adopted if not recovered by the owner within 72 hours.

– During a traffic stop involving Morgan Young on East Main at 1:47 a.m. Monday for a bad tail light, officers noticed suspicious behavior from passenger Michael Pitts, 23, state Route 644, Summitville, who had an active warrant from the county. Pitts was taken into custody. Young was cited for tail lights required.

Salem

– A Cedar Ridge woman threatening to harm herself and armed with a gun voluntarily relinquished the weapon after a lengthy conversation with officers, reluctantly being transported to SRMC Sunday night.

– Marcy Paster, East Third, reported Sunday she believed someone she knows took her lawn mower.

– Nova Eichler, East State, reported Sunday an unknown person took $95 cash and change from her.

Perry Township

– Kerri Ann Johnson, 38, of Martins Ferry, was cited for a stop sign violation after a two-vehicle accident at 4:44 p.m. Sunday. Johnson, eastbound on Georgetown Road, went through the intersection at the bypass and struck a vehicle driven by Jigneshkumar Patel, 38, of Salem. A passenger from each vehicle was taken to SRMC.

– Ethan Ruffner, 24, of Steubenville Pike, Lisbon, was cited for driving under suspension after a traffic stop at 11:53 a.m. Sunday on state Route 45 near KSU.

– A Beechwood Road resident Saturday said she was recently contacted by Techprosoft Solutions about viruses being on her computer. She gave the person access to her home computer and purchased virus protection from the company. She said she later believed it was a scam and contacted her credit card company to cancel the payment.

– Megan Derenburger of Kensington reported at 9:27 a.m. Friday someone struck her vehicle in the Fresh Mark employee lot.

– A burning complaint was reported at 3:28 p.m. Sunday in the 800 block of East Fourth. Firefighters found a rubbish fire and extinguished it. The homeowner was given a warning.

County Sheriff

– Alan Parsons, Emerick Road, Summitville, reported Saturday people shooting near his residence. A deputy responded and spoke with Parsons, who said he didn’t like all the noise from the guns being shot. The deputy spoke with the neighboring property owner, who was conducting a conceal carry class. The deputy determined the class was being conducted more than 1,000 feet from Parson’s residence and that no safety issue existed.

East Liverpool

– While on patrol on Lincoln Avenue, an officer reported seeing Raymond G. Crow, 56, no address listed, carrying a large can of beer. He reportedly tried to conceal it near some steps when he saw the officer. He was cited for open container.

– Officers responded Thursday to a report of a man threatening people with a gun on East Fifth Street but only found two people with children in common having a squabble. They were advised to “grow up” and given the procedure for filing charges through the law director’s office.

– Lori Pittenger, First Avenue, reported she had been caring for a Dresden Avenue resident and felt sorry for her because she did not have cable television service. Pittenger ordered cable service in her own name for the resident, who then died. She said the woman’s family cleaned out her home, also taking the cable box that was in Pittenger’s name.

– Called to Heights Manor for a loud stereo report, officers spoke with Kathleen Nguyen, who said Jeff Bigelow turned down the stereo when he learned she had called police then said he threatened to vandalize her car for doing so. Officers advised Bigelow the stereo was too loud for the apartment and to turn it down or face being charged.

-Officers responded to the Sparkle Market on Pennsylvania Avenue for a commercial truck which had struck the business’ sign. The truck and driver was located at S.H. Bell, and the driver agreed to pay for the cost of damages to the sign.

– Stacey L. Moore, Holliday Street, reported her son’s video game taken from her vehicle.

– Kris Buck, Vine Street, reported that her mother, with whom she severed ties four years ago, had entered her home earlier this month without permission and tried to do so again this week. Buck was able to lock the door before her mother could enter, and her mother left.

Salem

– Police responded to the 2500 block of East State at 7:40 a.m. Friday where the owner said the back of the business was unlocked when he arrived. An officer did a walk through and found nothing missing.

– A Franklin Avenue woman at 4:04 a.m. Sunday said her husband kicked in the back door to gain entry. Tenant laws were explained to both.

– A West Pershing resident reported at 12:03 a.m. Saturday a couple were harassing their daughter on social media. The two were told to quit it.

– Randolph M. Bauman was picked up on a warrant at his residence at 192 S. Lincoln Ave. at 4:15 p.m. Saturday.

– Police at 5:52 p.m. Saturday responded to West Fifth where a woman said she and her husband were arguing over keys to the vehicle and they had resolved it.

– A boy playing on construction equipment on South Lundy at 6:19 p.m. Saturday was told to quit it. His parent was advised of the danger.

– At 7:17 p.m. Saturday, police responded to East State and the fire department said the resident had called the ambulance and first responders multiple times in the last few weeks but always refuses to go to the hospital. Residents said the person is under hospice care and was having trouble breathing but refused to be taken to the hospital. They were advised by EMS and the officer they needed to contact the hospice nurse before calling.

– An East State gas station reported a $28.62 drive-off by a woman in a black van at 2:23 p.m. Saturday. The vehicle is registered to a Leetonia resident. Village police will try to make contact.

– The same gas station reported at $16.13 drive-off by someone in a white Ford Explorer at 7:33 p.m. Saturday.

– An Aetna Street woman reported at 3:19 p.m. Saturday her son was being harassed on social media by several kids. She was advised of the options.

County Sheriff

– Eric Blackburn, state Route 164, Columbiana, reported Friday that, overnight, someone had forcibly entered his garage and took several items. The incident remains under investigation.

– Aaron Bower, Abbey Lane, Homeworth, reported Friday a woman keeps driving around his neighborhood. When he stopped her, the woman said she was looking at a house next to him she wants to buy. Bower asked for an extra watch in the area.

East Liverpool

– The police department received numerous calls Friday from a woman stating a stolen truck had been parked inside a garage on John Street, and she identified herself as a neighbor, saying she had watched a woman park the truck in the garage. Officers learned that the same call went out to Wellsville Police Department a few minutes later about a garage in their jurisdiction. Both locations were checked with no truck found. The phone call reportedly originated from a phone and number listed to Tiffany Bunn, 23, Blakeley Street, and officers went there, where they spoke with Bunn. She denied making the calls and said she had no cell phone. Bunn was charged with making false calls and obstructing official business.

County Sheriff

– William Hornsby, Lower Elkton Road, Columbiana, reported Thursday receiving a text message from his bank warning him his account was getting low. Hornsby checked and discovered Direct TV made a withdrawal in the amount of $775 even though he has not had any dealings with them for several years. He called Direct TV and worked out the problem, but the bank needed the report to remove the overdraft fees.

– Andrew Wright, Wellsville Avenue, Lisbon, was arrested for criminal damaging at 4:07 p.m. Thursday after reportedly throwing a chair at his neighbor’s birdbath, breaking it. Wright said he was having words with Mary Richards when he threw the chair.

– Richard E. Martin, 19, Academy Road, Salineville, was southbound on state Route 164 in Wayne Township at 2:30 a.m. Friday and went off the right side into a guardrail, then went left of center off the left side into a ditch. He was cited for failure to control.

– Jason P. Short, 40, Black Road, Lisbon, was westbound on state Route 39 in Yellow Creek Township at 4:20 a.m. Tuesday and went off the right side into a guardrail, a ditch and a utility pole. He was cited for failure to control and OVI and taken to the East Liverpool hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

– Andre L. Lynn, 26, East State Street, Salem, was northbound on Waterford Road in Unity Township at 12:21 a.m. Sunday and went off the right side into a ditch and overturned. He was cited for failure to control and taken to the SRMC with non-life-threatening injuries.

– Michael Brandon Taylor, 25, Waterford Road, New Waterford, was northwestbound on McCloskey Road in Unity Township at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday and went off the east side then off the west side into a mailbox and a rock wall. He was cited for failure to control.

– David Barnhart, 37, Columbiana, was arrested on warrants following a traffic stop on South Main Street at 12:35 a.m. Thursday and turned over to the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office.

– James Lanazone, Lakshore Court, reported at 8:56 a.m. Thursday his car was leaking gas and he requested the fire department respond as he was having it towed.

– Tracey Spooner, Blueberry Drive, reported at 5:25 p.m. Thursday her daughter was being bullied via text messaging.

Lisbon

– Dave Dickey of D.W. Dickey & Sons reported at 9:10 a.m. Thursday that an employee’s wet boots were stolen after he left them outside the office. Another employee saw the man responsible and told the owner, who retrieved his boots. The boot thief was described as a white male, thin build, wearing a black leather jacket.

Salem

– Police responded at 9:33 a.m. Friday, along with fire department first responders and KLG Ambulance, to a residence in the 100 block of West 14th Street for a woman having a medical problem. KLG transported her to Salem Regional Medical Center after she spoke to an officer and a friend.

– Christan Weimer, of the 1300 block of East State Street, reported at 4:14 a.m. Friday that someone threw an egg at one of the windows of his residence. No damage was reported.

– Officers were dispatched at 2:13 a.m. Friday to the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard for a well-being check. A woman at another address said she wasn’t able to make contact with the mother of the child she was babysitting. The mother was supposed to pick up the child at 10 p.m. Thursday. Officer made contact with the child’s mother at her Southeast Boulevard home and found her not able to take care of the child at that time. Children Services was contacted and it was determined the child would stay with the babysitter for the night. Children Services was following up in the morning.

– Police responded to the 1500 block of Westview Drive at 1:37 a.m. for an intoxicated person to be removed. The caller said the person was causing a disturbance at the house. Officers determined the person lived there and had no other place to stay. The two came to an agreement for him to stay the night.

– Police were called at 10:10 p.m. Thursday to the 1900 block of East State Street for a report of a missing juvenile. The juvenile had just returned home when officers arrived.

– Drug activity was reported at 9:53 p.m. Thursday in the 900 block of East State Street. Police were unable to locate the vehicle in questions and learned it left before officers arrived.

– Possible gun shots were reported at 9:36 p.m. Thursday in the area of East Pershing Street and Fair Avenue. Police didn’t find any type of disturbance.

– An abandoned vehicle was reported in the Smith Oil parking lot on East State Street at 9:11 p.m. Thursday for over an hour. The registered owner showed up but was not the person who abandoned the vehicle. Officers were given consent to search it and nothing was found.

– A disorderly person was reported at the Salem Memorial Building, 785 E. State St., at 7:21 p.m. Thursday. A man was reported acting inappropriately and entering rooms in the building that he was told to stay out of. He was vebally aggressive, then left before police arrived. Officers spoke with the man who had calmed down, and he said it was a miscommunication.

– A resident in the 2200 block of Southeast Boulevard reported at 6:35 p.m. Thursday that her dog was stolen from an address in the 200 block of Vine Avenue. Officers spoke with other people involved and found the matter to be civil in nature. All were told their options.

– Brent Bonan, of the 400 block of Washington Avenue, reported at 5:15 p.m. Thursday that someone vandalized his Internet cable on the roof.

– Two vehicles were reported being operated in a reckless manner at 5:13 p.m. Thursday in the area of East State Street and Southeast Boulevard. They were not found.

– A woman at 5:12 p.m. Thursday reported a male had driven toward her aggressively after a brief argument in the Salem Public Library parking lot. Police made contact with the male and he claimed she purposely stepped into his path. Both were told their options.

Perry Township

– A passerby called at 12:05 a.m. Friday to report possible vandalism of a pop machine at a business in the 1600 block of Depot Road. Police found no pop machine on the property and found nothing else damaged.

– A 16-year-old Salem boy was cited to Juvenile Court for failure to stop in an assured clear distance ahead after the vehicle he was driving at 5:55 p.m. Thursday failed to stop and struck the rear of a southbound vehicle driven by Charity Mondak, 38, of West Pine Lake Road, who was attempting to turn into a parking lot in the 1700 block of South Lincoln Avenue. The report said the teen’s failure to stop was due in part to the brake line blowing out of the vehicle.

– A resident in the 1100 block of West Perry Street at 4:08 p.m. Thursday requested police dispose of medication no longer used because she was unable to get to a disposal site on her own. An officer took the medication and disposed of it at an approved site.

– Police were called at 1:55 a.m. Thursday to check if a female was walking northbound on state Route 45 into the township from the area of Kent State Salem. She had possibly been involved in an accident. No female was located.

Leetonia

– An officer responded with EMS to the 400 block of Somer Street for an unresponsive 27-year-old male at 10:36 a.m. Friday.

– Village police assisted Washingtonville Police with an open door in the 200 block of High Street in Washingtonville at 1:28 a.m. Tuesday. All was secure.

– An officer responded to the 300 block of Pearl Street at 10:27 p.m. April 13 for a possible break-in. No other information was posted on the report.

– Police were called at 12:15 p.m. April 11 for an alleged assault at the Corner Pocket on Front Street which was determined to be unfounded.

– Angela Veglia, Dyke Road, Negley, reported at 11:01 p.m. Wednesday that Glenn Collins came to her home after she had not seen him in months, entered the house and stole her phone so she could not call police. Collins then reportedly left driving a maroon panel van, hitting her garbage can and mailbox. Veglia did not want a deputy to respond.

Lisbon

– Mark Thomas, West Washington Street, reported there was a man standing across the street from his home and acting strange at 11:18 p.m. Tuesday. Thomas said the man had walked east before turning north toward West Lincoln Way. Police searched the area but did not locate the person.

-A caller reported there were four horses running loose at the county fairgrounds at 7:13 p.m. Monday. Police contacted Steve Armstrong, who said there were two people coming to take the horses back to the barn.

– Michael R. Roberts, 60, Rose Drive, was cited for improper backing at 7:20 p.m. Friday. He was stopped for the light on Jackson Street at East Lincoln and began to back up, striking the vehicle behind him driven by William M. Ferraro, 43, Heck Road, Columbiana.

Columbiana

– Police checked on a suspicious woman in the Columbiana Ford dealership parking lot at 1:32 a.m. Wednesday and found it was the cleaning lady.

– The Canfield Fire Department requested assistance with a structure fire at 7650 Salem Unity Road at 4 a.m. Wednesday. Shortly after, Canfield reported the fire was under control and assistance was no longer needed.

– A woman reported at 8:14 a.m. Wednesday a box truck was going about 35 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone eastbound on state Route 14.

– Susan Coy-Kampf reported at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday someone hit her car at Huntington Bank on Monday.

– Kelly Allen, South Bayshore Drive, reported credit card fraud at 12:22 p.m. Wednesday.

East Palestine

– Police were called to the high school at 12:21 p.m. Monday when student Mark D. Knight, 15, Bacon Avenue, left the building without permission.

East Liverpool

– Ruth Gabriele, Northside Street, reported Wednesday she looked outside to see a man tampering with her mailbox. When she yelled, the man entered the passenger side of a truck that left on Spring Grove Road. Police officers were unable to locate the truck.

Liverpool Township

– Officers were called to the home of Glenn Dennis, LaCroft Avenue for a report that several juveniles were playing too close to his mother’s home and their vehicles. When Dennis told them to move along, he noticed they were picking on one of the kids and he told them he was calling police. The kids told police that they were just goofing around with each other and that Dennis came out yelling and ordering them to leave the area, ripping off his shirt and threatening them. One of the girls showed officers a video on her phone that showed Dennis without a shirt, yelling at them that he had called the police and threatening to beat one of the juvenile’s father’s backside. The officer advised the juveniles to find another place to goof off for the sake of keeping the peace.

– While southbound on state Route 11 Monday night, a pickup truck driven by Richard D. Camerlin Jr., 55, Cornell Street, reportedly hydroplaned, causing it to go off the road, follow a drainage ditch and strike a tree. Lifeteam ambulance responded to the scene, but the report did not indicate he was transported. No charges were reported.

– While northbound on Parkway, a vehicle driven by Austin M. Burson, 17, Homestead Drive, reportedly went out of control, skidding off the roadway. He was cited for speeding.

St. Clair Township

– Sheena B. Tice, no address listed, reported her estranged husband came to their children’s day care center on St. Clair Avenue and caused a problem on Thursday.

– Hanna E. Dickey, Duke Road, reported returning home Thursday to find it had been entered overnight.

Salem

– Corey Myers, 23, of Whinnery Road, was cited for assured clear distance at 12:44 p.m. Thursday after he struck a westbound vehicle driven by Robert Menegay, 47, of Knox School Road, Homeworth, who was stopped for traffic on East State .

– Jennifer Jordan reported at 2:19 a.m. Thursday her vehicle was damaged while parked at her place of employment on West Fourth.

– Police responded to assist with a residential lockout at 1:39 a.m. Thursday in the 200 block of Vine Avenue where a woman needed to reset a breaker that made her electricity go out and the basement door was locked. She had tried to contact the landlord, but there was no answer. The fire department was able to gain access and the breaker was reset.

– Ryan Armstrong, 30, of 1205 Depot Road, was cited for open container after an officer at 12:56 a.m. Thursday saw him walking on the sidewalk on South Broadway.

– Charlene McGuire, 20, of Alliance, was taken into custody on a county warrant at 11:01 p.m. Wednesday after an officer checked a registration on East Pershing.

– Suspicious people were reported at 8:57 p.m. Wednesday at Lincoln and Third. Police found a group of people and advised them about the complaint that they were possibly engaging in illegal activity. They denied the allegation and voluntarily turned out their pockets and opened containers they were carrying. One also volunteered to pull his waist band out and shook his pants. Nothing illegal was seen and officers thanked them for their cooperation.

– An unruly boy was taken to SRMC after police were called at 6:14 p.m. Wednesday to a Franklin Avenue home. The boy had made several comments of wanting to hurt himself.

– A 17-year-old girl was charged with theft and a 14-year-boy and Adam Lodge, 23, of 577 E. Third St., were charged with complicity to theft after an alleged shoplifting at Wal-Mart Wednesday evening.

– Teresa Deprill, whose home was damaged during a fire Sunday on Franklin Street, reported at 3:10 p.m. Wednesday someone broke into the home Tuesday night. A person she knows told her a man was seen on the front porch and a woman inside the front door. The person yelled at the couple and they ran down the street and into a vehicle and left. Entry had been forced.

– Robert Unkefer, 24, of Alliance, was cited for assured clear distance after he rear-ended a vehicle driven by Leslie Cover, 49, of Washington Avenue, on West State Street at 3:42 p.m. Wednesday. Damage was heavy. Unkefer had looked down at his radio and when he looked back up, it was too late to stop.

– A man reported at 3:01 p.m. Wednesday that one of the elderly tenants in the 100 block of Ohio Avenue has been getting harassed by other tenants. The elderly woman said on Saturday a young woman came to her door asking for money and said she needed it right away. She did not give her money and on Wednesday, a man walked by her door, then turned around and gave her “the eye.” He was described with short salt and pepper hair and a tattoo on the neck. An officer made contact with the possible people, told them about the complaint and to stay away from the woman. One woman said she only wanted a ride. Another denied going to the apartment and asking for money.

– A tow truck came to a property in the 800 block of East State Street to tow a vehicle at 1:51 p.m. Wednesday and the operator told the officer Ohio Revised Code had changed for towing a vehicle from private property. Law enforcement needs to be notified and other things must be done. The owner is to come and talk to the chief regarding the changes. The officer noted that acetylene tanks seen on the floor of the vehicle previously were gone.

Goshen Police District

– James Alexander Moyer, 48, Oil City, Pa., was charged with physical control of a vehicle while intoxicated after officers heard loud screaming and yelling in the area of state Routes 165 and 45 and found him and his fiancee, Holly Butts, arguing in a vehicle in a parking lot. Both were intoxicated and Butts, the passenger, said they were arguing about her vomiting in the car. Damascus first responders arrived to evaluate Butts and offered to transport her to the hospital, but she declined.

– The highway patrol asked deputies to check at a home on Black Road at 5:07 a.m. Tuesday after a vehicle owned by Jason Short was found crashed on state Route 39. Short was later located, but not at his home.

– While on patrol, Deputy Brandon Hoppel found an open door at an Applegate Road, Lisbon, apartment. A light was on in the basement and the door was found to be unlocked. Deputies found a door with pry marks, but did not find any other damage inside the apartment. Other apartments were also checked.

– Janice Miller, Metz Road, New Waterford, reported at 3:21 p.m. Tuesday she and her stepbrother, Jack McFarland, were driving by the home of their brother, Ronald Miller. Miller and his son were outside and made an obscene gesture so McFarland pulled into his own driveway across the street. Ronald Miller then reportedly attempted to get McFarland to fight. Deputies went to the home of Ronald Miller, who claimed it was Janice Miller and McFarland who made obscene gestures twice. There was also reportedly a lot of yelling back and forth. Both sides of the family were told to stay on their own side of the street and ignore the others.

– Tracy Peterson, Hillcrest Circle, East Palestine, reported a domestic at 9:18 a.m. Tuesday. Marissa Murphy and Zach Peterson told deputies there was an argument with car keys and a phone, but neither wanted to pursue charges. Tracy Peterson agreed to give Murphy a ride to Pennsylvania.

– Dennis Hillberry, Middle Beaver Road, Lisbon, reported at 12:46 p.m. Tuesday he received a letter from the IRS in February claiming they needed more information to process his tax return. He called the number provided and informed them he had not filed his return yet. Now he has received another letter telling him to file a report due to identity theft.

Highway Patrol

– Ryan D. Bowman, 17, Ridge Road, Minerva, was southbound on Sandy Springs Road in West Township at 6:45 p.m. Monday and went off the left side into a ditch and an embankment and overturned. He was cited for failure to control.

– Justin M. Bishop, 29, State Street, Leetonia, was westbound on state Route 558 in Fairfield Township at 5:53 a.m. Monday and hit a deer.

– Domenic L. Carrocee, 21, Canfield, was northbound on state Route 164 in Center Township at 2:46 a.m. April 7 and went off the right side into a road sign, a mailbox and a tree. He was cited for failure to control and taken to the St. Elizabeth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

– Michael B. Woods, 30, Alliance, and Linda C. Cook, 63, Bunker Hill Road, Leetonia, were eastbound on state Route 558 in Fairfield Township at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday and Woods slowed to make a left turn and was rear-ended by Cook, who was cited for assured clear distance.

– Michael A. Dowd, 57, Vermillion, was northbound on state Route 11 in Elkrun Township at 11:25 a.m. Monday and hit a turkey.

– William L. Haines, 53, Massillon, was westbound on state Route 39 in Yellow Creek Township at 3:18 p.m. Thursday and another vehicle was eastbound and began to overtake Haines, who took evasive action to the right due to oncoming traffic and went into a guardrail, over an embankment into a wooded area and several trees. The other vehicle continued on.

Columbiana

– A woman reported at 6:50 a.m. Tuesday a 30-pound Golden Labrador was running around in Firestone Park. The dog was reunited with its owner, Sean Carney.

– A woman reported at 10:27 a.m. Tuesday there was a man looking in car windows of vehicles parked behind Paul’s Cafe on South Main and the vet clinic on East Park. Police found the man, identified as Kevin Hause of Lisbon, and told him to stop.

– Carl Dodson, Firestone Avenue, reported at 1:34 p.m. Tuesday a fox statue was taken from his yard.

Salem

– Police responded to the parking lot of Advance Auto Parts, 2842 E. State St., for a report of a male sleeping inside a parked van at the store at 9:24 a.m. Wednesday. Police found a female driver and male passenger both sleeping, but they were OK. They were waiting for the store to open to make a delivery and also had some vehicle maintenance problems.

– Melanie Paulin, 37, of 610 Sharp St., was taken into custody Wednesday on a warrant for driving under suspension.

– While on a medical call at 5:55 a.m. Wednesday, Salem Fire Department reported a hit/skip accident in the 600 block of East Euclid Street where a silver/blue Pontiac had pulled into a drive, backed out and struck a parked vehicle, then fled the scene. The owner of the parked vehicle said there was no damage and nothing further was needed.

– A suspicious odor was reported by a resident at 11:24 p.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of Franklin Avenue. Upon arriving, officers smelled a strong chemical odor at the entrance and attempted to check the apartment with consent to ensure public safety, but the occupant said no. After conferring with the prosecutor, the apartment was checked with the actual resident contacted and cooperating to allow officers to freely check the apartment. After the search, nothing was found in the apartment to be a public safety concern.

– Police responded to a fire alarm at 6:59 p.m. Tuesday in the 1000 block of Buckeye Avenue to assist the fire department. The fire department advised the house has been vacant for a year, but they needed to make entry to make sure gas was not leaking throughout the house. No contact information was available for an hour. Firefighters used a door spreader to open the door and check the residence. Everything was OK and they secured the door.

– A woman on Lexington Avenue reported at 5:21 p.m. Tuesday that someone used her debit card to make numerous unauthorized purchases online. All five purchases posted Tuesday for $177.78. Her bank was already contacted and froze the account.

– Sarah Simballa, 20, of Cream Ridge Road, Lisbon, was cited for assured clear distance after her westbound vehicle failed to stop and struck the rear of another westbound vehicle driven by Roger Crowl, 64, of Alliance, who was stopped on East Second Street at 5:02 p.m. Tuesday.

East Liverpool

– Officers responded to Woodland Hills Tuesday morning where Cara-Lee L. Bradford, 24, reported her baby’s father, Ryan D. Blystone, 36, Ruth Street, had come to her apartment and let himself in with a key. He reportedly attacked her new boyfriend, Brian D. Ammon, 23, Globe Street, with a large butcher knife. Ammon suffered a cut on his arm and had a large wound on his nose, which he said was caused by Blystone biting him. He also said Blystone bit his finger. A warrant for assault was issued for Blystone.

– Tawnia Jenkins, no address listed, reported her vehicle’s mirror broken, apparently when it was struck by the mirror of a passing vehicle.

St. Clair Township

– Officers responded to a 911 call from a Sprucevale Road resident about a woman who knocked on his door. She was wearing a dress and no shoes and had a 4-year-old child wearing nothing but underpants. The woman, later identified as Kristina R. McKinnon, 24, Calcutta Woods Apartments, Sprucevale Road, had been walking into oncoming traffic and was talking incoherently, according to reports. Officers reported she told them she had drank two bottles of cough syrup, smoked marijuana and took Vicodin, saying she was grieving over a deceased boyfriend and wanted to join him. She became frantic because she left her 2-year-old child alone in her apartment, and the child was found in the apartment, crying but otherwise not harmed. Also found inside the apartment was marijuana and a pipe, according to reports. North Star Critical Care transported McKinnon to the hospital, and the children were released to a relative. McKinnon was charged with endangering children.

Perry Township

– An Andrew Avenue man reported he gave his 1999 Ford F-150 to a man he believed worked for a repossession company on Sunday, but the man didn’t provide any paperwork. Police learned the vehicle had it fact been repossessed.

– Michael Grimm, 42, of South Lane, Hanoverton, was taken into custody on a warrant for sexual assault out of the Covington sheriff’s office in Alabama and charged with fugitive from justice after a traffic stop at 12:25 p.m. Sunday on Cunningham Road at Butcher Road. He was also cited for a cracked windshield.

– Kaylee McCullough, 21, of Alliance, was cited for a registration violation and driving under suspension after a traffic stop at 3:38 a.m. Saturday on West State /U.S. 62.

– A Somerset Drive resident reported Friday she received a call from a person who claimed she won $4.5 million from Publisher’s Clearing House and told her to send a check for $2,500 by express mail, next day delivery, and not to tell anyone so it was kept a secret to the media so they could release her winnings. The next day she was directed to wire another $475 to another address to release the prize. On the third day, she got suspicious and contacted another family member who told her she had been scammed. She was told not to have any conversations with the callers and to contact her financial institution.

– Police responded to a tip from Help Hotline at 2:42 a.m. Sunday about a West Perry Street woman acting strange and talking about harming herself. After a brief physical confrontation, she was successfully taken to SRMC for an involuntary examination.

– A West State girl who badly cut her hand on broken glass was transported to SRMC.

– Marcia Stone, Trinity Church Road, Lisbon, reported at 12:32 p.m. Monday someone used her identity to obtain services from Charter Communications at an address in Johnson City, Tenn. A collection agency is now attempting to collect on the bill. Stone told deputies she has never been in Johnson City, Tenn.

– Gail Bable, state Route 170, East Palestine, reported at 8:03 p.m. Sunday she saw suspicious activity at the Beaver Creek State Park Campground. A man had been knocking on her camper. Deputies contacted Edward Clark Talone of Silver Springs, Md., who explained he was a thru-hiker. It was raining heavily, too hard for him to set up a tent, and Talone knocked on the trailer of Bable, who is a campground host, just to let her know he was in the park. With park officials’ blessing, Talone spent the night camped in the covered bridge near Pioneer Village.

– John Chuey, Y Camp Road, West Point, reported at 8:12 a.m. April 12 he sold his home to Brad and Tess Watson and moved across the street. Chuey had built a place for a Beaver Local school bus to turn around next to the Watson property. Now Watson is reportedly building a wall of concrete blocks in the area, which curves onto Chuey’s property and Chuey feels is an attempt to keep the bus from using the turn-around. Deputies explained it is a civil matter.

Highway Patrol

– Penny Pyles, 59, Main Street, East Liverpool, was southeastbound on Depot Road in Elkrun Township at 9:10 p.m. Saturday and went off the left side and overturned. She was cited for failure to control and taken to East Liverpool hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

– Gene C. Taylor, 70, Fairway Road, East Liverpool, was northeastbound on Yeager Drive in Madison Township at 4:45 p.m. Saturday and went off the right side into a utility pole. He was cited for failure to control.

– Aaron W. Byers, 33, Berlin Center, was westbound on U.S. 30 in Madison Township at 3:10 p.m. Saturday and struck debris in the road.

– Josh Kupka, state Route 172, Lisbon, reported at 1:15 p.m. Saturday a 2008 or 2009 Ford Escape that was silver/gray in color was westbound on state Route 172 in Center Township and went off the right side into two mailboxes and continued on.

– Ashley L. Faust, 27, Geneva, was stopped at a stop sign eastbound on Salem Grange Road in Salem Township at 10:25 a.m. Saturday and Joshua S. Mussenger, 23, Cunningham Road, Salem, was stopped at a stop sign westbound on Winona Road and struck Faust on the left side while attempting to turn left through the intersection. Mussenger was cited for fight of way turning left and Faust was taken to the SRMC with non-life-threatening injuries.

– Ronald E. Reiter, 50, New Castle, Pa., was northbound on state Route 170 in Middleton Township at 4:30 a.m. Friday and went off the left side into a ditch. He was cited for failure to control, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

– Tyler J. Dickey, 21, Colony Drive, New Waterford, was eastbound on state Route 172 in Hanover Township at 10 a.m. Saturday and stopped at a stop sign and was struck from behind by Duke S. Cecil, 22, Canton. Cecil was cited for assured clear distance.

– Brittany L. Vargo, 25, state Route 14, East Palestine, was stopped in a line of traffic northbound on state Route 7 in Madison Township at 1:20 p.m. Thursday and was struck from behind by Lindsey K. McPherson, 19, Walnut Street, Rogers. McPherson was cited for assured clear distance.

– Todd W. Goodnight, 44, Canton, and Jordan L. Adgate, 19, Warren, were eastbound on state Route 558 in Fairfield Township at 9:20 a.m. Thursday and Goodnight stopped at the sign at state Route 164 and was struck from behind by Adgate, who was cited for assured clear distance.

– Brianna L. Markovitch, 23, Monaca, Pa., was southbound on state Route 170 in St. Clair Township at 3:15 a.m. Thursday and traveling in the oncoming lane and struck Colleen E. Savors, 60, Pancake Clarkson Road, Negley, who was northbound. Markovitch was cited for lanes of travel, leaving the scene and OVI.

Lisbon

– Someone from Paul’s Cab service reported a customer by the name of Danny Donahue was refusing to pay his fare, and they were in the Home Savings parking lot at 11:08 p.m. Thursday. Donahue was found lying on the ground, his speech was slurred and he smelled of alcohol. Donahue paid his fare and was then charged with public intoxication and given a ride to his home on Maple Street.

– Peg Dawson, Cedar Street, reported Monday a fraudulent transaction in the amount of $20.99 occurred on her debit card from a website called deserves.com.

– There was a report of a suspicious vehicle on Davner Road and now the vehicle was at a downtown business, the Clutter’d Hutch, at 12:44 p.m. Monday. Police spoke with the owner, who said the man driving the vehicle was just trying to sell her items.

Columbiana

– A man reported at 4:36 a.m. Monday there was a woman in the Duke and Duchess parking lot claiming to be lost and begging people for $5 so she could get to Streetsboro. Police spoke to the clerk and he said a man gave the woman some gas money and she was already on her way.

– A woman reported at 7 a.m. Monday there was a reckless driver coming from Unity Township on state Route 14. Police checked the area but did not see the vehicle.

– Gretchen Dardakis of Canfield reported at 11:27 a.m. Monday her car was struck while parked at the funeral home on North Main Street on Saturday.

– A Court Street woman reported at 11:45 a.m. Monday a suspicious man was going up on porches in the area. Police found the man was delivering phone books.

– Amber Sampson of Columbiana reported at 8:20 p.m. Monday she was behind a reckless driver in a silver SUV westbound on state Route 14 who was driving in the wrong lane. Police stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver, Robyn Anderson, 43, Salem, for driving under the influence and driving under suspension.

Salem

– Gary Kannal of Lisbon reported at 10:52 a.m. Tuesday his vehicle was hit by another while parked at the Salem Community Center.

– A woman reported at 10:11 a.m. Tuesday she feels she’s being followed by a Hispanic male. He was at her home at 5 p.m. Sunday and knocked on the door. She opened it and he didn’t really speak but she said he may have said something about she was going to die soon. She wasn’t sure if he even knew what he said in English. He rides a blue bike. She was then at Circle K East and going to a relative’s house when she felt she was followed by two Hispanic males on bicycles. She came to the station and they left her alone. She wanted a report on file for officers to keep an eye out for them.

– Lonnie Gilbert, of a business at 291 S. Lincoln Ave., reported at 9:57 a.m. Tuesday a woman was refusing to pay the vehicle maintenance fee. While an officer was on the scene, the husband called, apologized and said he would pay..

– A Franklin Avenue man Tuesday he was talking with a woman from California who was threatening to post photos of him on Facebook. He was told to contact Facebook if any pictures show up and to stop communicating with the woman.

– David Gasior, 41, who was listed as having no stable address, was charged with persistent disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after police were called at 8:21 p.m. Monday to Jennings Avenue for a report of an intoxicated male stumbling into traffic. Police found him in the 700 block and said he appeared highly intoxicated as evidenced by his stumbling and nearly falling down. The report said he was given several opportunities to contact someone to take care of him, but nobody could be located. When taken into custody, he began trying to injure himself in the rear of the patrol car and resisted officers attempts to properly secure him in restraints. He was taken directly to the county jail and while enroute he was repeatedly headbutting the divider and attempting to headbutt the second officer seated in the back with him.

– Samantha Briceland, 19, of Carole Drive, was cited for a stop sign violation after a traffic stop at 4:56 p.m. Monday on Carole Drive.

– Consumers National Bank, 141 S. Ellsworth Ave., reported Monday there may have been an attempt to fraudulently access a customer account. The attempt was unsuccessful and no money was lost.

– Police were called at 12:08 p.m. Monday to Huntington Bank, 193 S. Lincoln Ave., for a report of an irate customer. Contact was made with the man, who was told if his actions continue, he’ll no longer be allowed to return.

– James L. Miller, 81, of South Lincoln Avenue, was charged with failure to control and no seat belt after his vehicle veered left of center onto a curb lawn and into a large tree on South Lincoln at 11:56 a.m. Sunday. He told a witness he blacked out and lost some degree of consciousness before the accident occurred. Miller had be extricated from the vehicle because he was trapped partway under the driver’s seat. He was taken to SRMC.

East Liverpool

– A Bradshaw Avenue mother reported her 14-year-old son being unruly and pulling a knife from his pocket. Officers retrieved the knife from the teen-ager and spoke to him, reporting that he admitted he had not taken his medication and regretted what happened. He was transported to the high school.

– Kane Borelli, Bank Street, reported his vehicle entered and items taken, including a stereo and numerous checks, with a full inventory pending.

– Thomas Mushweck, McKinnon Avenue, reported the plastic windows on his Jeep sliced and explicit language scratched into the paint on the passenger side and hood. The fender flares were also damaged.

St. Clair Township

– Jesse J. Henderson, 34, Sprucevale Road, was walking through the Tractor Supply parking lot in Calcutta pushing a shopping cart when Heidi A. Moran, 35, Industry, Pa., started to turn her vehicle left into the crosswalk area, striking the shopping cart and causing Henderson to fall down. Henderson was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital. No charges were reported.

– JoAnne Dray, 73, Campground Road, was southbound on state Route 7 with the blinking yellow light in her lane when D.M. Curran, 58, Calcutta-Smith Ferry Road, came eastbound on East Liverpool Road, stopped at the red blinking light and pulled into the intersection into Dray’s path. Curran was cited for failure to yield.

Brooke County, W.Va.

– Brooke County, W.Va. sheriff’s deputies arrested Misty G. Barnes, 21, of Wellsville, on a domestic battery charge, April 6.

County Sheriff

– A woman called East Palestine police at 2:35 p.m. Sunday after reportedly hearing shots behind their home on Bacon Avenue. Deputies sat in the area, but did not hear anything.

– Kathleen Fowler, Empire, met with deputies at the Kensington post office, Railroad Street, and reported at 11:18 p.m. Thursday she had gone to the home of her boyfriend, John Freeman, on U.S. 30 and he had been abusive. Fowler claimed he questioned her about where she was the night before, hit her in the elbow with a cane and took her phone before throwing it into the street. He told her to leave and while she was retrieving her phone, he reportedly broke out the right front passenger window of her car. She did not want to pursue charges.

– Shirley Bumbarger, Grant Street, Lisbon, reported at 9:52 p.m. Friday a 6-year-old was assaulted. No further details were provided.

– Lindsey Short and Ginger Mills, Buffalo Road, Kensington, reported Friday night threats were made. No further details were provided.

– Louis Castelucci, Salem-Alliance Road, Salem, reported at 1:05 a.m. Saturday an assault occurred in the Butler Mobile Trailer Park. No further details were provided.

– Penny Lynch, Yeager Drive, East Liverpool, reported a two-vehicle accident at 5:25 p.m. Sunday on Yeager Drive near Dormont Road. Francis Carr, 78, Cameron Road, was eastbound on Yeager Drive and went left of center striking a parked vehicle owned by Michael Lynch, Yeager Drive. Carr was transported to ELCH after reportedly complaining of chest pain.

– Dan Cavanaugh, Chain School Road, East Palestine, reported at 7:16 p.m. Sunday he wanted his 22-year-old son removed from the house. Deputies explained Cavanaugh had to either evict his son or the son could leave voluntarily. Deputies responded to another call and Cavanaugh called back while they were gone to report the son had left.

Lisbon

– Brent Rose, 49, Township Highway 302, Hammondsville, was cited for OVI following a traffic stop on Maple Street Extension at 12:37 a.m. Saturday.

– Police were called to an apartment house on East Lincoln Way at 4 p.m. Sunday in regard to a couple possibly arguing and smoking marijuana. Upon arrival, the officer smelled the aroma of marijuana being smoked in the building and spoke to the resident who was supposedly arguing, and he denied any arguing had occurred. The officer could not smell any marijuana in the apartment but warned the resident if they were smoking marijuana they needed to stop.

– The security alarm at 308 W. Lincoln Way went off at 10:40 p.m. Saturday, but police found the residence to be secure, and the dispatcher contacted the homeowner.

– Brandon Serfozo reported Friday he works for the Steel Trolley Diner, which is refusing to pay him his last four paychecks. Serfozo was told this was a civil matter. Meanwhile, the owner was contacted and he said the checks were mailed three days before to Serfozo’s new address at the Traveler’s Inn just south of Lisbon.

– Police received a report of someone sleeping in a vehicle parked near the BP station on state Route 154 at 6:08 p.m. Saturday. The vehicle was gone by the time an officer arrived but a vehicle matching the description was found at a nearby resident. Police checked with the driver, who said everything was fine.

– Greta Burton reported there was a possibly impaired motorist driving south on North Market at 3:39 p.m. Saturday. The officer did not locate the vehicle but had received several similar complaints and went to a residence on Riverview Drive, where he found the vehicle parked.

– Erica Hearn, South Jefferson Street, reported a neighbor was removing the wooden fence from her yard at 1:34 a.m. Sunday. Police spoke with Tracey Gilmore, who said his neighbor, Virginia, told him he could have the fence for fire wood because it was in her yard, not Hearn’s.

Columbiana

– Barbara May, North Cross, Street, reported at 2:19 p.m. Sunday her lawn mower was missing.

– A man reported at 2:39 p.m. Sunday a group of kids were taking apart a swing in the playground at Firestone. Police asked them to leave, but they were not found taking anything apart.

– Arthur Matheney, East Park, reported Sunday someone took a shepherd’s hook from his yard.

– Gregory Gardner, 54, and James McBride, 55, of Columbiana, were cited for disorderly conduct at 4:21 p.m. Sunday after someone reported they were fighting on North Pearl Street.

– Corey Harcarik reported at 4:55 p.m. Sunday he was behind a reckless driver eastbound on state Route 14. Police looked for the Chevy Malibu but could not find it.

East Palestine

– Police were called to 150 Park Ave. at 9:32 p.m. Saturday for a report that Scott Bratt had dropped off his kids at the home and he had been drinking.

Salem Township

– Veronica Hall, Longs Crossing Road, reported Sunday sometime overnight someone entered her vehicle, but nothing appeared missing. However, the GPS was stolen from the vehicle of her niece, Valerie Goerig.

Salineville

– While on patrol, police observed a car traveling 75 mph in a 25 zone while going west on East Main around 2:30 p.m. Saturday. The driver ignored an officer’s signal to stop and he ended the pursuit due to safety concerns. The patrol and sheriff’s office were notified.

– A West Main Street resident reported at 9:35 a.m. Sunday a broken window, which officers determined was shot out with a BB gun.

East Liverpool

– Officers were called Sunday at 4:06 a.m. to Michigan Street for someone trying to get into Don Cramer’s garage. There, they found two metal hasps pried off the door and could hear someone inside, shuffling around and pulling something across the floor. When ordered to come out, Brian L. Cramer, 28, Michigan Street, appeared and said he had been sleeping in his dad’s truck but got cold and broke into the garage to get warm and have a place to sleep. The truck was found with several blankets and a pillow in the bed, according to reports. Officers found a shed near the truck had also been broken into and a box containing a television was found inside the doorway of the garage. The property owner said the television had been on the other side of the garage. Brian Cramer was charged with breaking and entering. He also had an outstanding warrant.

– Officers responded Friday morning to a report of a man inside a vacant house on Haywood. They found a vehicle owned by Matthew Coles, 20, Cleveland, parked near the residence and Coles was found standing behind apartments in Woodland Hills. He had been given a trespassing notice the previous week and was charged with criminal trespass when found there Friday.

– Responding Friday morning to a complaint of a man screaming and yelling in front of the Convenient Food Mart on Lisbon Street, officers found a Liverpool Township officer with Michael F. Earich, 41, Lisbon Street, in her cruiser. He had reportedly been yelling at a woman in a car, but she drove off when officers attempted to speak with her. Earich reportedly smelled of gasoline and was charged with public intoxication. He was taken to the police station, where officers reported having to forcibly secure him to the prisoner’s bench, resulting in a charge of obstructing official business.

– Maroda R. Dobritz, 19, Ravine Street, reported being assaulted by a friend of her baby’s father. She also told officers her baby’s father had an outstanding warrant and was hiding in the house. Although Dobritz had red marks on her neck, she declined medical treatment. The man she accused of assaulting her denied such action, and her baby’s father did not have any outstanding warrants, and officers advised her the procedure for filing charges with the law director.

– Ashley Dearth, Wilbert Avenue, reported a man she knows assaulted her and tore down her curtains. She was advised the procedure for filing charges with the law director.

– While walking her dog on a leash on West Seventh Street, Kali Watson, no address listed, reported another dog attacked hers, injuring it. Officers cited the other dog’s owner, Bryan Jeffries, address not listed, for having a dog at large.

– Ernest R. Wiseman, Saint George Street, reported being harassed by a man he knows for about a year via texts and Facebook message. He was advised the procedure for filing charges with the law director.

St. Clair Township

– David J. Nonamaker, 37, Lisbon Street, was charged Saturday with domestic violence after he argued with his wife over financial and family members, pushing her backwards, according to reports. Officers reported he broke a bedroom door and went after his wife with a broom in the driveway.

– James Manley, no address listed, reported his mother, Edith Manley, 81, has been receiving harassing and annoying calls from his ex-wife. He was advised the procedure for filing charges with the law director.

Salem

– Tammy Mason, 42, U.S. 30, Lisbon, was charged with complicity to theft after an allegedly shoplifting Sunday night at Home Depot. She allegedly tried to return an item to the store that had just been stolen by another person.

– A Leetonia woman reported at 2:53 p.m. Sunday that someone entered her vehicle while she was inside Walmart and stole several items, including a CD holder and multiple CDs, a four-way cell phone charger, loose change and an iPhone charging unit.

Columbiana

– Firefighters assisted the Leetonia department with a brush fire in the area of 40145 state Route 558 at 1:14 p.m. Sunday.

– Beverly Shivers, state Route 7, Rogers, reported at 8:34 a.m. Saturday a suspicious man was sitting in a vehicle in her driveway. The man was out of gas and waiting for someone to bring him some. Deputies waited until his friend arrived, and he drove away.

– Mary Slider, Fairfield School Road, Columbiana, reported at 6:47 p.m. Saturday Russell Hetrick had pushed her. She did not plan to pursue charges unless she was unable to obtain a protection order. Deputies attempted to contact Hetrick, but were unable to reach him at first. Hetrick called deputies at 12:08 p.m. Sunday to report his brother, Randall, was dismantling a trailer which belongs to Russell Hetrick on the Fairfield School Road property. He claims his sister, the executor of the estate, and his father gave him the trailer. Deputies explained to everyone it is a civil matter.

– Mark Virden, Lusk Lock Road, Lisbon, reported at 1:50 p.m. Saturday he attempted to purchase a puppy from a website called oodle.com. He spoke with a woman, who instructed him to send an undisclosed amount of money. Western Union alerted him it was a scam when he went to transfer the money.

– Rapid gunfire was reported in the area of Kelly Park Road at 7:54 p.m. Saturday. Deputies checked the area, but did not find anyone.

– Heather Reed, Elkton Road, Lisbon, reported at 3:56 p.m. Friday she went to file her taxes and it appeared someone had already filed them.

– An unresponsive woman was reported at a Millrock Road home at 8:51 p.m. Friday. Joe Chitwood reported he found his girlfriend, Misty Mahon, unresponsive in the yard. Mahon said she has not been eating or sleeping well and believed she passed out.

Columbiana

– Trudy Avery, a Columbiana resident, reported at 1:18 a.m. Saturday she struck a rabbit at the intersection of Main and Duquesne streets. The bunny appeared to have a broken leg and was euthanized.

– Kenneth Dean, Leetonia, was cited with driving under suspension after a traffic stop at 12:44 a.m. Saturday on state Route 7 south of Valero.

-A suspicious vehicle was reported on Railroad Street near an alley at 4:21 a.m. Saturday. Police found it running with no one near it. Police found the owner.

– The gates were found open at the city garage at 4:39 a.m. Saturday. Someone from public works was found inside.

– A disabled vehicle was found missing a wheel at Dairy Queen at 6:21 a.m. Saturday. The vehicle was found to belong to someone being transported by an ambulance. The patient relayed that the missing wheel was inside the vehicle.

– A man on Firestone Avenue reported at 12:40 p.m. Saturday representatives from Kirby Sweeper were in the neighborhood going door to door and they had asked for some personal information the man was not certain they actually needed.

– A woman reported a dog in a car in the parking lot at the Dutch Haus with all the windows up at 2:26 p.m. Saturday. The car was running and the air conditioning was on.

– A man on South Middle Street reported at 6:47 p.m. Saturday he had a dispute with his neighbor.

– A man reported five or six children in the middle of North Main Street at 7:28 p.m. Saturday. Police checked the area, but did not find any children.

– At 8:39 p.m. Saturday police assisted a woman attempting to catch a bat inside her South Main Street home.

East Palestine

– A sick or injured raccoon was reported at 1 a.m. Sunday in the area of North Market and North Avenue, where it was causing a traffic problem. The raccoon was relocated to a non-residential area.

– William A. Tondo, East Main Street, reported at 8:41 p.m. Friday he was receiving threats from someone he knows.

– An argument between two men was reported in the 200 block of East Martin Street at 5:13 p.m. Friday. Police learned dog belonging to one of the neighbors has been getting loose and pooping in the other person’s yard. The neighbor confronted the owner of the dog and they argued. Police told the dog’s owner to keep the dog on a leash to avoid any further issues, which could result in a citation.

– Someone reported a dog appeared sick or injured in the yard of a Garfield Avenue home at 6:12 p.m. Friday. Police spoke to the resident, who said the dog is being treated for a condition which causes it to lose its balance.

– Marsha Crowl, East Grant Street, reported at 8:14 p.m. Friday the man living next door continues to trespass on her property despite numerous requests for him to stop. Police told the man to cease or future violations could lead to him being charged with criminal trespassing.

– Brigitta Cepin, no address listed, was cited with driving under suspension following a traffic stop at 4:10 p.m. Wednesday.

– Michael D. Bruce, no address listed, was cited with driving under suspension after a traffic stop on North Market at 7:30 a.m. Friday.

– During a traffic stop at 5:05 p.m. Wednesday on French Street at East Main, police found the passenger in possession of a syringe and a Q-tip. A charge of possession of drug abuse instruments is pending.

Salem

– A Highland Avenue resident reported at noon Saturday that she lost her checkbook at the Memorial Building last week and had canceled the checks but someone used one for $122 at an East State Street business.

– Police responded to SRMC at 12:27 a.m. Sunday for a report of a female patient who had walked out with an IV still in her arm. Officers checked the area but were unable to find her. They also checked her home and found it empty.

– Police responded to a West State Street business at 1:05 a.m. Sunday where the clerk said a person had threatened him after returning to the business where his brother had attempted to steal some items earlier. The person was told to leave and not return.

– Anthony D. Trinn, 18, 1485 E. Third St., Salem, was charged with underage possession of alcohol after a patrolling officer observed him set down a case of beer and walk away upon seeing the officer in the area of Hawley Avenue and East Third Street at 2:19 a.m. Sunday.

– An officer assisted Perry Township police attend to a suicidal woman in the 1100 block of West Perry Street at 3:08 a.m. Sunday. The woman was transported by ambulance to the hospital for evaluation, where the officer again assisted restraining her after she became combative.

– Edward L. Robinson Jr., 19, Youngstown, was charged with possession of drugs and obstruction of official business after officers responded to an unknown disturbance at a Cleveland Street home at 4:48 a.m. Sunday and found him attempting to flee the home. During the investigation he allegedly provided false identification and had narcotics in his possession.

– Police responded to a 500 block East Perry Street home at 6:59 a.m. Sunday where a resident reported someone overnight had apparently knocked his truck cab off its resting place in the backyard alley.

Leetonia

– A brush pile caught a field on fire and burned about half an acre before firefighters were able to extinguish it Sunday afternoon. Aided by the wind the fire spread across a cornfield on property owned by Paul Long, state Route 558, according to Fire Chief Larry Hephner. Columbiana crews assisted on the call, which Hephner said was helpful in getting the fire under control.

POLICE

Highway Patrol

– Michael Kowalczyk, 40, Independence, was traveling south on state Route 11 in Elkrun Township at 1:45 a.m. Monday when he drove off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail. He told a trooper a commercial vehicle ran him off the road, but no evidence existed to support his claim. Kowalczyk was cited for failure to control and OVI.

– Brandi Jo Glover, 28, Salineville Road West, Salineville, was traveling south on Black Road in Center Township at 10:36 a.m. Tuesday when she drove off the right side of the road and hit several trees. Glover was cited for failure to control and OVI.

– Jared Charles Batson, 22, 12th Street, Homeworth, was traveling west on state Route 172 in Hanover Township at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday and was towing a trailer that started to fish tail. The trailer, which did not have a license plate, went off the right side of the road, struck a ditch, separated from Batson’s vehicle and rolled onto its roof. Batson was cited for a towing requirement violation.

– Robert L. Witherow, 67, Crawford Road, Wellsville, was turning west onto state Route 154 from state Route 11 in Elkrun Township at 12:02 p.m. Wednesday when a computer desk fell out of his trailer and hit a vehicle driven by Babette C. Welsh, 54, state Route 267, East Liverpool, who was traveling east on state Route 154. Damage to Welsh’s left front fender was observed. Witherow was cited for not properly securing loads.

Columbiana

– A reckless driver was reported at 1:42 a.m. Friday traveling on North Main Street in a silver sedan. Officers were unable to make contact with the vehicle.

– A commercial vehicle was reported at 8:16 a.m. Friday to have run through the stop light of a school bus at Lisbon Street and North West Street. The driver of the vehicle, David Obed Ovaedo Garcia of Mexico, was given a warning.

– An East Park Avenue man reported at 11:35 a.m. Friday someone from Owens Construction was going around soliciting for business without a permit and being very pushy. Later in the day, Jonathan Yager of Owens Construction was issued a solicitors permit for roof damage repair.

– Edward Larose, Edgewood Drive, had a complaint at 3:40 p.m. Friday regarding a landscaping company.

– A COMPCO employee reported at 8:53 p.m. Friday a green pickup was located in the parking lot, but left when the employee went outside.

Wellsville

– Officers were called to the area of the old clay mine on state Route 45 for a possible fight but found no one there. One of the people involved, Cory Boso, was located at Save-A-Lot and told officers he was following his baby’s mother when a man he knows came at his vehicle with a sword, hitting the passenger side. His baby’s mother, Janean Burkett, told police she spent the night at Boso’s mother’s in East Liverpool and when she refused Boso sex, he became angry, which continued into the morning when he attempted to run her off the road on state Route 7, also blocking her vehicle as she attempted to exit. He reportedly followed her through town, trying to cut off her vehicle with her child in the back set, and when she came to her driveway, her stepfather was waiting. Her stepfather struck Boso’s vehicle with something, she told officers.

East Palestine

– At 6 p.m. Wednesday police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by William C. Styen Jr., Brookdale Avenue, at Bacon Avenue near Malibu Drive. Prescription pills were found inside the vehicle that did not belong to Styen, and the matter remains under investigation. No charges have been filed.

– At 7:27 p.m. Thursday Nicole Michelle Hilton, North Liberty Street, reported there were suspicious people lurking around her neighborhood and vehicles with loud exhausts driving around her home. Police checked the area but did not find anyone or anything matching that description.

– Police were called to 169 W. Main St. at 7 p.m. Thursday for a report of a vehicle parked in the resident’s driveway that did not belong there. Police contacted the owner of the vehicle, Gregory Fritchen, French Street, who was across the street visiting a friend and believed that a family member of the person he was visiting still lived at the home where he had parked. The vehicle was moved with no problems.

– A Brookdale Avenue resident reported at 1:49 p.m. Thursday she received a message from a man claiming someone had used her identity to file income fraudulent income taxes. Police checked the number the man called from and determined it was linked to a number that had received many other similar complaints.

– At 9 p.m. Wednesday Shawn M. Beamer, West Martin Street, reported improper material was found on a juvenile’s cell phone. The case remains under investigation.

Salem

– A complainant from the 600 block of Olive Street was on station at 11:10 a.m. Friday advising their checking account was hacked using a bank in Chicago called Cover1. Police called and left a message and the complainant closed the account.

– At 7:07 a.m. Thursday, police responded to the 600 block of East Euclid Avenue where there were three tires punctured on the complainant’s vehicle that was parked in the driveway. The complainant found a screwdriver that appeared to have been used to cause the damage.

– Police in the 2400 block of East State Street observed a vehicle operated by known woman driving under suspension. Megan C. Ripley, 36048 U.S. Route 30, Lisbon, was charged with driving under suspension. A passenger, Tammy J. Mason, 36048 U.S. Route 30, Lisbon, was taken into custody on a warrant for failure to appear for child support and released to sheriff’s deputies.

– At 11:48 a.m. Thursday, a complainant from the 30000 block of Winona Road was on station advising that a PS3 was stolen from her vehicle on Sunday. The incident is under investigation.

– Police responded to the 100 block of Hawley Avenue at 8:17 a.m. Thursday where a storage building had been broken into and six freon containers valued at $350 each were stolen. The incident is under investigation.

– Police responded to the 200 block of Highland Avenue at 8:28 p.m. Thursday for a hit-skip incident with a vehicle parked legally in the street and was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.

Perry Township

– Police responded to South Lincoln Avenue at 8:53 p.m. Thursday where the crossing gate came down on a stopped vehicle at the railroad crossing. There was no damage to the vehicle or the gate and the driver stated she was concerned when train lights were observed coming from the east and the gates were not activated, so he stopped before the tracks but after the stop-line for the gates. When the gate did activated it dropped onto the roof of the vehicle. The vehicle was moved and the gates continued to function properly. Norfolk Southern was advised immediately when the call was received and trains were put into a caution mode until there was no problem with the gates.

– While conducting a traffic stop in the 1900 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 2:10 p.m. Thursday, a passenger, Glenn S. Anderson, 32549 Oak St., Lisbon, was found to be in possession of four syringes and a spoon commonly used for heroin. He was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments and transported to the county jail. The vehicle was towed from the scene with a hold for a valid drivers license and proof of insurance.

– During a traffic stop at 2:10 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of North Ellsworth Avenue and the bypass for marked lanes violation, police found an outstanding warrant for the driver, Erick W. Meredith, 32109 Orchard Knoll Dr., Lisbon. He was transported to the county jail and cited for marked lanes and failure to reinstate his license.

– Police were advised at 12:44 p.m. Thursday that a resident in the 900 block of Stewart Road allegedly filed their taxes through a commercial agency and were advised their Social Security Number has already been used to claim a refund.

– While assisting the Columbiana County sheriff with serving a warrant in the 600 block of Main Street, at 11:09 a.m. Wednesday, a woman attempted to exit the residence by the side door and was detained and found to be in possession of possible drub abuse instruments. Amber G. Jones, lka 9 Chestnut St., Leetonia, was transported to the police department and an assistant prosecutor was contacted about charges. She was released pending the outcome of results from the BCI.

– At 10:57 a.m. Wednesday, police assisted the Columbiana County sheriff with serving a warrant on Marcie Maria Mancuso-Fitzpatrick, 1507 Market St., Youngstown, and she was transported to the county jail.

New Waterford

– A resident complained at 7:30 p.m. April 7, that a Pinewood Drive woman was using her for a reference for employment and she didn’t wish to be. Police advised the complainant it was a civil matter but would attempt to contact the woman at her residence but there was no response.

– Police responded to the 3900 block of West Main Street at 8:45 p.m. April 10 regarding a dispute over a Social Security card.

– At 10:02 p.m. April 10, police were flagged down by a man who wanted to know who to contact about downed wires in his yard.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Jerald Cope, Winona Road, Salem, reported at 8:25 a.m. Thursday sometime overnight someone threw a cement block at his mailbox, damaging it.

– Brittney Williams, Carmel Achor Road, Rogers, reported at 9:38 p.m. Thursday her 16-year-old daughter packed her bags and left her father’s house walking westbound on Carmel Achor. The father’s brother, was following the girl in his truck. Deputies found the girl and after investigating the matter she was transported to the Tobin Center for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Columbiana

– Bonnie Johns, 48, St. Jacob-Logtown Road, Lisbon, reported at 9:39 a.m. Thursday someone hit her car in the Century parking lot on West Railroad Street.

– A man reported at noon Thursday someone in a black Chevy was weaving all over the road from North Lima and was currently on North Main Street in the city. Police checked the area but did not find the vehicle.

– Erica Kern reported at 8:24 p.m. Thursday Sean Chappell had left Lisbon with a child inside his car and he had been drinking. Police found the vehicle in front of a Union Street home unoccupied.

– A man reported at 9:38 p.m. Thursday there was a dead deer in front of United Rentals on state Route 14. Police checked and found it was actually a coyote and removed it from the road.

– George Gilbert Sr., East Palestine, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on Duquesne Street near South Main Street at 10:41 p.m. Thursday.

Lisbon

– Elaine Iler, West Washington Street, reported at 6:56 p.m. Thursday a boy has been missing since after school. Iler said the boy was supposed to go to his sister’s house but he wasn’t there. Police found the boy’s sister had picked him up around 7:15 p.m., and he had been with friends.

East Liverpool

– Officers responded to a report of an overdose on Wilbert Avenue where they found a 24-year-old man lying unconscious on the couch, with his girlfriend, Mikayla Sexton crying hysterically for someone to save him. The man, identified as Braxton Mascher, 24, had a pulse and paramedics from Tri-County were on their way, she was advised by officers, who tried to ascertain what had occurred. Sexton and two of her guests, Erek R. Collins, 25, and Timothy A. Beaver, 19, insisted they had just found Mascher in his current condition, according to reports. Sexton told officers she and had returned from work to find her boyfriend as he was, they reported. She and the other men were uncertain if he was a drug user, they told officers. A spoon was found on the floor inside a closet and a syringe was found in the kitchen garbage, leading officers to believe Mascher had overdosed on heroin, and they said Sexton, Collins and Beaver admitted he was a drug user but denied being present during the use. However, officers reported their continued investigation indicated all three had been present when Mascher overdosed and that they had taken time to clean up and hide all drug-related articles prior to calling paramedics to save their friend’s life, officers reported. Mascher was transported to the hospital and during his recovery told officers both he and Sexton, who is pregnant with their third child, have drug problems. He told officers he and the other men picked up his girlfriend at work, stopped to purchase heroin then went to her apartment where the overdose took place, according to reports. Mascher, Beaver and Collins were all served criminal trespass notices prohibiting them from all Columbiana-Metropolitan Housing properties, and criminal charges for obstructing official business and possession of drug abuse instruments will be sought against all those involved, officers reported. Children Services will be notified, and officers said CMHA will be forwarded a copy of the report to assist in the eviction of Sexton from the property.

– Dispatched for a fight at Heights Manor, officers spoke with Hope Veglia, who said her brother had come to her apartment to fight her boyfriend and broke down her door. Witnesses corroborated Veglia’s account, and charges were pending against her brother at the time of this report.

– A witness reported seeing three men stealing copper from a house on Goulding Street and, when he confronted them, they fled in a truck across the Newell Bridge into West Virginia. Hancock County officials located some of those involved and the copper piping was recovered, with the investigation continuing.

– A man called wanting to “show” an officer something on Fenton Street. When the officer arrived, the man reported he had given a girl money to buy him some marijuana and she had entered a Fenton Street home but never returned with his marijuana or money. The officer assured the man they knew about the house and advised him to leave before he was arrested for soliciting drugs.

St. Clair Township

– Officers were advised by a loss prevention officer at Walmart that Tracey L. Shields, Echo Dell Road, had stolen an item and left in a gray vehicle. Knowing Shields’ current address, officers found the vehicle entering Echo Dell Trailer Court and stopped it. Shields was taken into custody and charged with theft. A syringe was reportedly seen in plain view in the center console of the vehicle, which was driven by Charlene Sias, 38, Elkton Road, Lisbon, who had a suspended license. A spoon with a burned bottom was found underneath the driver’s side floor mat, and Sias told officers her husband is diabetic and the syringe was his, but in speaking with her husband, he said he does not use syringes for his condition, according to reports. Officers checked Sias’ arms and reported finding multiple bruises and fresh pin holes around her veins and said she admitted she has been using heroin but not that day. She was charged with driving under suspension, possession of drug abuse instruments and possession of drug paraphernalia.

– An officer stopped a vehicle for failing to use a turn signal and while speaking to the driver, Dakota W. Baughman, 20, no address listed, reported seeing pieces of brown and green matter on his pants. Asked if there was anything illegal in his vehicle, Baughman handed officers a marijuana crusher that contained suspected marijuana. In searching Baughman, the officer reported finding four individually wrapped bags of suspected marijuana. He also indicated his passenger, Kaleena M. Crane, 20, no address listed, had a blunt, which she pulled from her purse when asked by officers. Baughman was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana paraphernalia and no turn signal. Crane was charged with possession of marijuana.

– Amber C. Hammon, Cannons Mill Road, reported coming home and not being able to enter her driveway because someone placed several logs in a line across it with a white cross in the middle that had been moved from her flower bed.

– Officers were called to a Bloomfield Road residence to remove someone, and Amber D. Jackson said she is tired of coming home the past 10 years to find her boyfriend drunk and sitting around. She was advised officers could not remove him from the home since he lives there and she would have to go through eviction proceedings. Officers spoke with her boyfriend, who was sitting next to a campfire with a friend and a case of beer. He said Jackson was jealous because he spent the day with his son, not her, but he agreed to stay at a friend’s until he sobered up then stay at his dad’s.

– Mary E. McCullough, 48, Mort Drive, was charged with OVI, failure to control and assured clear distance after reportedly being involved in two separate accidents at two different locations. Officers reported arriving at Dresden Avenue to find her wandering around, smelling strongly of alcohol with slurred speech and having trouble walking. Lifeteam ambulance treated her for some scrapes but she refused further treatment. According to reports, she had been involved in a minor hit and run accident moments prior to hitting a parked car, a lawn, landscaping and a metal post on Dresden Avenue. Her vehicle had both wheels on the passenger side broken off the axles from the second accident, according to reports.

– Walter Kernaich, Sprucevale Road, reported a woman from Salineville offered him sexual services for $80 to $100 while he was online. Kernaich told police he believed this to be a trap to discredit his character, according to reports.

Wellsville

– Robert Owens II and Nicole Shreve, address not listed, reported they were at the ATM at Huntington Bank when Owens’ ex-girlfriend blocked them in with her vehicle. They said she exited her vehicle and wanted to fight Shreve. They did not want charges filed, just a report.

– Mark Rearley, Main Street, reported a license plate removed from his vehicle.

– Elizabeth Broderick, Lincoln Avenue, reported her residence broken into and miscellaneous jewelry taken, removed from a hiding place. This is the third time someone has entered her home and taken items, she told police. There were no signs of forced entry.

– Donald Brown III reported he was notified by the bank his account was debited $641.56 by Direct TV but no such transaction was authorized, saying someone accessed his information and his account..

– A caller reported a juvenile was riding a dirt bike on East Chestnut Street at 6 p.m. Monday. Police found one boy in his yard with a dirt bike and he denied riding on the road but was warned anyway about doing so.

– A caller reported finding a hypodermic needle in the grass near the Rite Aid at 4:28 p.m. Monday.

-Police responded to a disturbance on East Chestnut at 5:52 p.m. Wednesday, where they could hear a woman and man arguing loudly. The couple were separated and told to keep it down.

– Christina Stone, Sherman Street, reported there was a possible fight on the street between two men at 5:35 p.m. Wednesday. There was no one around when police arrived.

– Joe Morenz reported there was a possible accident at the street department at 7:28 p.m. Tuesday. Police arrived but did not find any indication an accident had occurred.

– Police were called to a home on West Pine Street at 3:08 p.m. April 10 in regard to a medical emergency. The officer remained until an ambulance was summoned to transported the person to the hospital.

– Lorie Crowe reported at 1 a.m. Wednesday she was having problems with a co-worker at the Morning Journal and has already advised her supervisor. She also intends to confront the person and tell him to leave her alone.

– John Baker, East Lincoln Way, reported at 5:33 a.m. Tuesday demolition debris from the company tearing the house down next door had taken out a section of his fence, knocked out the gutter spout, shattered his skylight and left insulation scattered throughout his yard. Baker was told this was a civil matter.

Columbiana

– Police told Tyler Kelley and Fred Campana they needed to get permits to solicit in the city after someone reported they were selling Iowa Steaks along South Vine Street at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday.

– Gayle McCaskey reported at 2:35 p.m. Wednesday her car may have been hit while she was at the tax department filing her taxes.

– Police stood by at the Valero station at 2 p.m. Wednesday while a vehicle owned by Leslie King of Youngstown was towed from a handicap spot it had been parked at since Monday.

– A Lucretia Avenue woman reported at 4:47 p.m. Wednesday a man was going door to door in the area claiming to be from Owen Construction and telling homeowners their roof was damaged from hail.

Salem

– Craig Swanson, Merle Road, reported Thursday someone entered his house overnight, rummaged through some drawers and stole $50 cash and a tablet.

– John Torreance, Merle Road, reported Thursday the keys to his semi truck and a pack of cigarettes were taken from his pickup overnight.

– A man walking near State and Continental Drive reported at 1:22 a.m. Thursday that he thought he heard coyotes howling

– Officers provided traffic control and assistance at 9:22 p.m. Wednesday when a tractor trailer got stuck in the road at the corner of Howard and Wilson.

– An officer at 7:37 p.m. Wednesday saw a basset hound crossing the street in the area of Union and Oak. With help from a neighbor, the officer found the owner, who didn’t know how the dog got out of the house.

– Dianne Pipero of Beloit reported her vehicle was hit by another while parked in the employee lot at Ventra, 800 Pennsylvania Ave., on Tuesday.

– Chelsey Reynolds of Salem reported her car damaged April 10 while parked in the Ventra employee lot. Video surveillance showed another employee pulled out of his space and struck her vehicle while making a turn. Attempts to contact the other driver were unsuccessful.

East Liverpool

– An officer on patrol in the Heights Manor complex reported seeing Dascious Coles, no age or address listed, exit one of the buildings and took him into custody on outstanding warrants. Given notices to stay off the property were Coles, Alex Morris, Courtney Geer and Dashaun Coles, no ages or addresses listed. The report noted a bottle of cough syrup was found on the step where Dascious Coles had been sitting.

– Megan N. Leek, Center Street, reported her home entered through a window with an Xbox and necklace taken.

– Danielle Mercer, St. Clair Avenue, reported coming home to find her apartment broken into and a game system missing.

– Denise M. Swabey and Glenda R. Gilbert, both of Wilbert Avenue, reported derogatory writing on their vehicles.

– Officers responded to a report of a dog bite on Almont Street and found Tri-County paramedics tending to Janet Tucker, 41, no address listed, whose injuries they said appeared serious. People at the nearby home said Tucker had come there uninvited and had been advised before not to walk alongside the house or risk being bitten. The dog was on a chain, but officers said it was long enough to reach the public roadway. The dog was contained inside the home and its owner, Brian Miller, who was at work, was on the phone. He told officers there are up-to-date shot records for his dog, and he was advised to produce them as soon as possible. Charges are pending, according to reports.

– Tawnya Myrick, Globe Street, reported several unauthorized withdrawals from her bank account from several ATMs.

– While working at Woodland Hills, an officer discovered Matthew Coles, no age or address listed, asleep in his vehicle. In plain view was a folded paper containing white powder, according to reports. Coles was served with a trespass notice and the suspected narcotics will be sent for testing, with possible charges pending.

– Kristopher F. Rayl, 33, Artistic Drive, stopped at a stop sign while southbound on Wyoming Avenue then proceeded into the intersection of Northside Avenue, where he reportedly struck a westbound vehicle driven by Brooke M. Sims, 22, Avondale Street. Sims had the right of way, according to reports, which did not indicate any injuries occurred or charges filed.

– While northbound on St. Clair Avenue, Rachelle L. Anderson, 22, state Route 7, Lisbon, reportedly ran off the left side of the street, striking a utility pole. She was cited for failure to control and transported to East Liverpool City Hospital by Tri-County ambulance.

Salineville

– While on patrol, a beige Mazda four-door sedan with a girl and an man was spotted at Woodland Cemetery around 11 p.m. Monday. An officer detected an odor of marijuana, in which both the man and girl denied smoking that night. The girl admitted to smoking it the night before and said any roaches found were from someone else. A small tin of marijuana, which the girl admitted ownership, was found in the center console. Also found was an empty cigarette box with marijuana shake and rolling papers, which the man admitted to having. The items were confiscated. Charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possible contribution to the delinquency of a minor will be filed against the man pending lab test results. The case on the girl will be presented to the prosecutor with juvenile court for charges.

– Police were called to the Railroad Auto Spa on East Main at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday regarding a suspicious person in the area. An officer spotted Mary Ruth Marshall of East Liverpool lying in the corner of the wash bay, and she said she was walking all day and hitchhiked to meet with an old landlord in the village. When she learned he wasn’t home, she slept at the car wash. She also said she was experiencing chest pains, and Tri-County Ambulance transported her to a local hospital.

-A Wood Street resident, referred to as Mrs. Cassidy, reported at 7:40 p.m. she wanted her daughter, Carrie Howdershelt, removed from the house. Both sides acknowledged a strained relationship in which Cassidy has not seen her grandchildren, and Howdershelt said Cassidy gained access to a relative’s Facebook page and copied personal posts to Howdershelt’s cell phone. Both parties were told to avoid contact.

– A woman reported at 7:23 p.m. Wednesday a very small child’s bicycle was found near the creek behind the business at 10 E/ Main St. She was concerned a child may have fallen in the creek. Officers looked but were unable to find any children. The bicycle was taken into evidence.

– Police were called to the Salineville Baseball Complex at 10:19 a.m. Sunday after the concession stand was broken into and several items taken. Two children and an adult were identified, and charges have been submitted to juvenile court.

– Police were called to Kiwanis Park around 7 p.m. April 10 regarding two boys fighting in the park. Officers broke up the fight and contacted both boys’ parents.

– A juvenile reported at 8:20 p.m. Saturday someone stole an iPod the day before. The iPod was recovered.

– Rhonda Jones, Mill Street, reported at 11:37 a.m. April 6 a domestic dispute between her and Cody Jones over who wanted to keep their son at the home. The son was reunited with the father and both parties were advised to go their separate ways.

Wellsville

– Austin Maxon reported March 22 he went to Chris Joy’s home to buy a TV. When Joy opened the door Maxon handed him the money. Joy told him he would be right. Maxon waited a few minutes then began knocking on the door. Joy opened the curtains holding a baseball bat and a handgun, Maxon said. Maxon then grabbed a shovel off the porch. Police spoke with Joy who said there had been an incident a few months ago involving Maxon at a local bar and that night Maxon came looking for him. Joy said Maxon grabbed a shovel and threatened to break in the door. Joy told police he grabbed a baseball bat and told Maxon to get off his property. Joy said he does not have any guns in the house but his sons have several toy guns. He consented to a search, and police retrieved a black air soft pistol from the home.

– A boy suffered minor scrapes to his knee and elbow when his bicycle ran into the side of a moving car on Broadway March 25. The boy said he was traveling down Cherry Alley when his brakes failed and he crashed into the woman’s car, causing a large dent in the side.

– A King’s Carryout employee reported MArch 27 she had a heated verbal exchange with a woman earlier in the day.

– Kevin Byers Jr. was arrested for domestic violence on March 30 for allegedly assaulting a woman outside an 18th Street home. The woman said she had driven there to borrow money from a person living there. When she parked, Byers opened the passenger side door and ripped the keys from the ignition, knocking off her glasses. At some point while trying to keep Byers from taking the keys her finger was cut and her shin injured. Three witnesses confirmed the incident take place.

– A Chester Avenue man reported March 30 the mother of his child before not return the child. He was told it was a civil matter.

– A Buckeye Water District employee backed into another company-owned truck at the pump station March 30.

– A Broadway woman reported April 10 a woman called saying her granddaughter needed $1,800 in bail money. The caller told her to sent money to an attorney and provided a phone number. The woman checked with family members and her granddaughter and learned the call was bogus.

– John Plunkett, state Route 518, Lisbon, reported at 2:17 p.m. Tuesday, H and R Block electronically filed his taxes and the return was rejected. Then the agency attempted to file the return in the mail. He received a letter Monday and went to see the IRS in Youngstown. He learned someone else had already filed a return under his name, date of birth, address and social security number.

– Bradley Riley, Knox School Road, Homeworth, reported at 12:01 p.m. Tuesday he attempted to e-file his taxes and it was rejected due to someone else utilizing his information.

– Mary Kaufman, Butler Grange Road, Salem, reported at 7:18 p.m. Tuesday someone hit her vehicle in the parking lot of Hull’s Super Duper and left. Deputies searched the area due to the possible intoxicated driver responsible, but did not find her.

– Benny Wright, state Route 9, Kensington, reported at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday a suspicious vehicle was parked off the road near the county line with its lights off. When Wright went inside, he saw the same black and white truck go up and down the road numerous times slowly. Deputies checked the area, but did not find the vehicle.

– Robin L. Williamson, 53, U.S. 30, Hanoverton, wrecked on U.S. 30 in Hanover Township at 7:25 p.m. Friday, hitting a sign and two poles. She was cited for failure to control and taken to SRMC.

– Nation O. Whittington, 19, Chester, W.Va., wrecked on Trinity Church Road in Wayne Township at 3:10 p.m. Saturday. He was cited for failure to control.

– Ryan T. Lalley, 21, Morton Street, Lisbon, wrecked on St. Jacob-Logtown Road in Center Township at 7:20 p.m. Tuesday . He was cited for failure to control.

– Jonathan J. Napierkowski, 20, Clarks Mill Road, Salineville, hit a deer on state Route 518 in Wayne Township at 7 p.m. Friday.

– Gina N. Milick, 27, Youngstown, wrecked on state Route 164 in Fairfield Township at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday, hitting a lamp post and mailbox and overturning. She was cited for failure to control and seat belt.

– Charles A. Piper, 36, South Main, Columbiana, was eastbound on state Route 518 in Franklin Township at 7:40 p.m. Monday and went off the right side into a ditch and was ejected. He was cited for failure to control and taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

– A car owned by Brittani S. Price, age and address unknown, wrecked on Old Irondale Road in Yellow Creek Township a 2 a.m. Sunday. The vehicle was found unoccupied.

Columbiana

– A man reported at 10:26 a.m. Tuesday there was trash in the devil strip in front of a Duquesne Street home. Police contacted the homeowner who said she would care of it.

– Police stood by while the electric department repaired the traffic signal at Routes 14 and 46 at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday.

– Brad Kasunich, 31, Columbiana, was arrested for allowing his dog to run at large after it bit someone.

East Liverpool

– Myron J. Youngblood, 34, Moore Street, reported he was taking out his trash when a man he knows with whom he had had an incident previously came up to him. The other man grabbed Youngblood, slammed him to the ground and forced his thumbs into his eyes. Youngblood was advised the procedure for filing charges with the law director.

– Eugene M. Eastham, Ruth Street, reported pur-chases made with checks stolen from him.

– Jeremie M. Landfried, 30, Michigan Street, was cited for assured clear distance after he struck the rear of Samantha N. Talbott, 18, First Avenue, Newell. Talbott was on Parkway and slowed almost to a stop at the intersection of Rubicon. Talbott left the scene and was located on Wilbert Avenue, where she told officers she didn’t know what to do and was scared.

– While pulling into a parking spot on Wilbert, Julie Parsons, Orchard Grove, struck a parked vehicle owned by the U.S. Postal Service. No charges were reported.

– Ronald D. Williams, 22, Saint George, was northbound on Route 11 when his vehicle slid into the concrete barrier, went across both northbound lanes and struck a guardrail. The vehicle continued on 75 feet and caught fire. No charges were reported.

– Tiffany M. Garrett, 32, Maine Boulevard, drove left of center on Parkway and struck a vehicle driven by Scott E. Elliott, 37, Pennsylvania Avenue. Elliott’s vehicle contained his pregnant wife and four children, and his wife, Susan, had burn marks on her chest and neck from the air bag deployment. Bystanders told officers Garrett continued to drive forward after the crash, almost as though unaware she had been involved in a crash. Officers reported she kept nodding off while they were speaking to her but denied taking anything that would cause her to appear intoxicated. Inside her purse was found an unopened Suboxone wrapper. The three adults were taken to ELCH. Garrett was cited for left of center and driving under suspension.

– Anthony L. Wallace, 44, Etruria Street, was cited for no license after he wrecked on Wilbert, traveling through a fence and striking a tree.

Perry Township

– Afton Halls, 20, of Berlin Center, was cited for failure to yield at 7:57 p.m. Tuesday. She turned from the bypass onto North Ellsworth and collided with an oncoming vehicle driven by Betsy Hardy, 27, of Hartley Avenue.

– Dewaylon R. Bruton, 30, of Youngstown, was cited for obstruction of official business after he gave a fake name and date of birth during an investigation at a Main Street location at 5:11 p.m. Monday.

Salem

– Someone claiming to be from the IRS called a Southeast Boulevard woman and said she would be arrested if she didn’t pay a large amount of money to them that day. She said she sent the money to the caller via prepaid debit cards. An officer tried to call the number in question and it was disconnected. She was told not to send any more money because it was a scam. Several people have received similar calls, but police have cautioned in past stories that the IRS doesn’t make phone calls like that.

– A woman from Teegarden Road reported at 1:07 p.m. Wednesday she was parked at Home Depot backed into her, then left.

– Carl Wrenn, 38, of 447 Continental Drive, was cited for driving under suspension after a traffic stop at 2:23 p.m. Tuesday on Second Street.

Police

County Sheriff

– Tiffany Heaton, Thomas Road, Lisbon, reported at 12:19 p.m. Monday she signed up online for a free trial offer for green coffee bean extract on March 27. When she received the items they were not packaged as they were in the online advertisement. Then on April 11 she found her bank account had pending transactions of $80 and $79. She attempted to contact the company and learned the packages she received did not come from them and she was not in their computer records. She contacted her bank and had a new account set up.

– Amanda Jett, U.S. Route 30, Minerva, reported at 11:12 a.m. Monday a toddler in diapers was out walking on Route 30. Jett saw the child and brought him into her yard. Jett and her mother also told deputies the child had been out walking around the neighborhood on Sunday, too. Deputies went to the home on West School Street, East Rochester, where the boy lives with his parents and younger sister. The father, Michael Dunlap, told deputies his wife left for work at 4:30 a.m. and when the father awoke, the boy was playing in his room. The father tended to the baby sister and then noticed the door was open. He looked around the area and found the boy about a quarter mile away in a yard along Route 30. The 4-year-old boy is reportedly scheduled for autistic testing. Deputies suggested a fenced-in play area. The matter was forwarded to Children Services.

– Pennsylvania police looking for a missing 16-year-old girl, Emily Thompson, asked deputies to speak to Devon Johnson of Columbiana. Johnson said he knows the girl, but she was not there at that time.

– Lynn Mitchell, Maple Grove Lane, New Waterford, reported at 2:37 p.m. Sunday she had been helping the owner of horses get ready to bathe them when a 10-year-old neighbor came by on an ATV on the roadway. The owner of the horses told the boy to stay away while they bathed the horses and the boy’s father came there shortly to yell at the two women for telling the boy not to ride his ATV there. The deputy spoke to the father, John Seeger, who said he was concerned about the way the women spoke to his son. Deputies explained he should not be riding the ATV on the road.

– An angry student at Beaver Local High School was reported at 2:45 p.m. Monday. The 18-year-old, Shawn Andrew Sanchez, was in the parking lot with some staff members after he was reportedly seen earlier sitting in the passenger seat of a girl’s car, hitting the dash so hard the car was shaking. She had been sent away by school staff members for her own safety. They were reportedly having problems with a relationship. He was given a ride to his vehicle, which was parked at Sheetz in Calcutta.

– George Hawkins, Elm Street, Hanoverton, reported at 1:04 p.m. Monday his neighbor’s coonhounds bark all night and their owner, Allen Rummel, is reportedly gone for a couple weeks at a time. Deputies found two dog pens, but only one had a dog inside. The hound did not bark when the deputy approached. A five-gallon bucket was there with fresh water and about 10 pounds of food was located in a self-feeder in the pen. Hawkins had also contacted the dog warden.

– Linda Helman, Butler Mobile Home Park, Salem, reported at 2:40 p.m. Saturday someone broke into the back window of her trailer, which is under renovation. Someone took an empty purse, two cordless drills, a Stanley tool kit and a hammer stapler.

– A 16-year-old girl on state Route 7, Lisbon, reported at 3:59 p.m. Monday she saw a suspicious vehicle in the area. Deputies checked the surrounding area, but were unable to find a black Ford Focus.

Lisbon

– Police were called to a home on Maple Street after the caller reported at 3:20 a.m. Tuesday his grandmother had fallen and was not breathing. Police remained until an ambulance arrived to transport the woman to a local hospital.

– An official at the Allay Nursing Home on Pendleton Street reported a patient had gotten outside with her walker at 1 a.m. Tuesday and was yelling, but they were having trouble getting her back inside. Police arrived and were able to talk the patient into going back inside.

– A caller reported Sunday afternoon that Richie Burton, North Green Street, was outside revving his truck engine for the past two hours or so. Burton was inside his house when police arrived and he was advised of the noise ordinance. He said he understood and that he would stop.

– A caller on West Washington Street reported Sunday her neighbor’s dog keeps tearing up her yard. The dog, a lab, was gone by the time police arrived and they spoke to the owner, Tonya Gearin, who said her dog is either tied up or on a leash when outside.

– A man called from the community room at Apple Grove Apartments on Saturday to say a female resident was bothering him and other residents while trying to bum a cigarette from them. The woman said she would keep to herself and quit bothering other residents.

– A caller reported at 8:37 a.m. April 8 that police should check out a suspicious brown truck parked on North Vine Street. Police arrived and found a man who had pulled over to change his baby’s diaper. The man left when he was finished.

– Richard Goyette reported Saturday receiving harassing phone calls, so police went to the home of Mary Shaulis, Maple Street, who denied being the one making the calls. Police compared cell phone calls and they did not match.

– Smith Oil reported a motorist drove off without paying for gas at 4:09 p.m. Saturday.

– Don Vollnogle, West Spruce Street, reported April 9 he wanted his daughter’s ex-boyfriend removed from the premises. Police arrived to find the ex-boyfriend in the street, and he said all he wanted was his personal property. He was allowed to retrieve his belongings and left.

Columbiana

– Police told the water department at 4:15 a.m. Monday water was coming from the Yesco Electric building.

– A Pittsburgh Street man reported at 8:33 a.m. Monday neighbors were stealing railroad ties and burning them in their backyard all weekend and the ties were still smoldering. Police spoke with the homeowner, Frank Faye, and told him to put out the fire or he would be cited.

– A city utility employee reported at 3:26 p.m. Monday someone living at 44915 state Route 14 had tampered with the utilities that had been shut off for non-payment. The owner of the home, Willis Barnhart, was not staying there.

– At 7 p.m. Monday a woman turned in a MasterCard debit card she found near Funland in Firestone Park.

Salem

– Debris was reported in the road at 5:55 a.m. Tuesday at West State and Elm. A large cement barrier was partially blocking a lane of travel. Officers stood by while the street department cleared the road.

– Police responded to the 1600 block of Westview Drive at 7:36 p.m. Monday for a report of a man urinating in public. Nearby residents had been outside and saw the incident and one of the witnesses confronted the man, but he blew them off as if it was no big deal. The man was described as wearing jeans, no shirt, no shoes and with dark hair and another witness pointed out the house where he came from and returned to after the incident. An officer found him in front of the house and he admitted he walked over and used an outhouse across the street, but denied urinating outside or exposing himself. He had been drinking and said he used the outhouse because a family member was inside the bathroom. An officer found a fresh wet patch in the dirt on the exterior west side of the alleged outhouse. Information will be sent to the prosecutor for review of charges.

– Danielle Freeman, 33, of Kennedy Drive, was cited for assured clear distance after she rear-ended a vehicle driven by Charles Faris, 50, of Charleston, W.Va., who stopped for a traffic signal on Southeast at Pershing at 6:49 p.m. Monday.

– Police responded to Memorial Park at 5:57 p.m. Monday where a suspected firearm was in the creek near the ball fields. It was a toy.

Perry Township

– Police responded to Salem Acres for multiple 911 calls coming from the same phone but with no request for assistance at 3:18 p.m. Sunday. Officers found an adult had the phone in a back pocket and had accidentally been dialing 911.

– A newspaper delivery person was found asleep at the pumps at Circle K South at 4:50 a.m. Sunday.

– Police stopped a vehicle for no rear license plate light and improper exhaust on South Lincoln near Snyder Road at 12:05 a.m. Saturday and found the driver, who was driving under suspension, was claiming a medical emergency involving her passenger was the reason she was driving. The report said the officer saw her and a male passenger shopping at Circle K South. A pregnant female passenger, 21, of Lisbon, claimed she was in labor, so an ambulance was called for her. A Salem unit responded to assist while a consent to search was conducted on the vehicle, with nothing illegal found. The driver, Destaney Lynn Phillips, 20, of Youngstown, was cited for driving under suspension.

East Liverpool

– Officers responded to East Liverpool City Hospital for a report of a child being treated following an assault. There, the 2-year-old child’s mother, Tonya Madison, reported her child had been struck because she had been screaming. She said Charlie R. Perry II, no age or address listed, slapped the child in the eye, telling her to “Shut the (expletive) up,” which was witnessed by Madison’s 11-year-old child. The younger child had a visible red mark and swelling around her eye. Perry was charged with domestic violence and also had multiple outstanding warrants out of East Liverpool Municipal Court and is currently on probation in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, police reported.

Liverpool Township

– Called to investigate a person riding an off-road vehicle on Dewey Avenue and Clark Street, an officer encountered Caitlyn Moore, Clark Street, who said she was giving her children a ride up and down the road. She was warned that the vehicle is for off-road use only and if she or anyone else is caught on the road again, charges would be filed and the vehicle would be towed.

– Officers responded to state Route 11 where they helped a driver change his flat tire.

– Called for a welfare check on a Westfield Road man, officers found him and his estranged wife, who is prohibited from being at the house and from drinking as conditions of her bond. The man said he brought beer home for his own consumption but his wife said he invited her to have some, which he denied. Officers advised her to gather her belongings so they could take her to her mother’s to avoid being arrested for domestic violence. As she began to place items in a plastic tote, the officer advised he didn’t work for Mayflower moving vans and to only take her purse and medication this time. Asked what started the argument, the woman told officers her husband does not want her attending his mother’s funeral because his son is the preacher officiating at the service and her husband had learned she had had a one-night stand with his son many years ago. She was transported to her mother’s.

– Brian Miller, Brighton Avenue, reported the license plates to his trailer missing. He said the plates had been tightly secured to the trailer.

– Officers were advised of a possibly illegal fire on Dewey Avenue but, upon arrival, found only glowing embers with several people standing around. As he left, the officer saw in his rear-view mirror a large fire on Lee Street spreading up the hillside and he alerted the township fire department. The officer spoke to resident Justin Shreve, who said he had thrown a cigarette into the fire pit and went inside the house then came outside to find the large fire going up the hillside. The officer used a shovel to beat out as much of the fire as possible until the fire department arrived on the scene. Meanwhile, the residents at the Dewey Avenue home had reportedly re-started a fire in the same area where there had just been smoldering ashes, and the fire chief advised Ruth Wilson to extinguish the fire or it would be extinguished by the fire department. The officer, fire chief and assistant chief went to another home on Dewey Avenue and gave residents there the same advice.

– While ending his shift, an officer turned onto Park Boulevard East and saw smoke coming from a fire pit area and found household trash, clothing, shoes and a small suitcase being burned with leaves mixed in to cover what he deemed an illegal burn. Beside the fire pit were metal springs from a crib mattress that had been burned. He spoke with Jessica Hooper at the apartment, who said her boyfriend and a friend were having a small fire. She was advised this was her one and only warning and the next time the fire chief would be notified and she would be cited.

– Advised of a party at a Boyd Street residence with loud arguing, an officer found no one outside but an unattended fire but no one around. He alerted the fire department at which time a man, Sheldon Nolan, came out of the house and was advised of the dangers of unattended fires. Diane Haney also came outside and asked why the fire department was called and given the same dangers and told this was her only warning, with a citation to be issued if there is a second offense.

St. Clair Township

– Called to Sprucevale Road for a domestic situation, officers found Dody A. Johnson, 57, standing near her vehicle with its windshield smashed out, wine all over the hood and two empty wine bottles, clothing, hair dryer and a smashed computer laying about. Charles E. Flowers, 57, was standing on the balcony above the vehicle. Johnson said Flowers struck her and spit on her and threw her belongings from the balcony. Flowers said Johnson showed up with wine, became drunk and started a fight, during which she threw a timepiece through his flat screen television. He denied touching her. Flowers was charged with domestic violence.

– April L. Carroll, Bell School Road, reported she was sleeping and heard a loud noise so called her son who came over and found an egg had been thrown, breaking a pane of window glass.

– Shawn J. Flesch, state Route 170, reported mail seems to be missing from his mailbox and someone has possibly been prowling around his home during the night.

– Kristina R. McKinnon, Sprucevale Road, reported a woman and child showed up at her home and appeared traumatized. No other details were reported.

– David McCoy, Moore Road, reported suspicious activity at his home and found a sign had been posted at the end of his driveway. Officers took a photograph of the sign and removed it. They did not report what the sign said.

County Sheriff

– Amy Jo Gilbert, Forbes Road, Wellsville, reported Thursday she is getting harassing calls at home from a supposed company wanting her to take out a $15,000 loan. When Gilbert told them she was not interested, the caller began swearing at her.

– Heather McCarthy, Hibbetts Mill Road, Wellsville, reported Thursday afternoon there was a large bag on the road. A deputy arrived and determined it was a bag of leaves and moved it off the road.

– Lynette Sprouse, Graham Street, Lisbon, called for a deputy at 4:45 p.m. Thursday because her daughter was not listening to her. Sprouse was advised the procedure for filing unruly charges if she so desired.

– An employee of the Lock 24 restaurant in Elkton reported Thursday afternoon the autistic child who lives across the road was waiving a handgun about. She did not want anything done other than have a report on file.

– Deputies were called to a possible drug overdose on Gurlea Drive, Guilford Lake, at 9:16 p.m. Friday. The woman resident said she was contemplating harming herself, so an ambulance was summoned to take her to the hospital.

– Nathan Powell, Sandy Creek Road, Minerva, reported at 10:24 p.m. Friday he stopped his girlfriend from leaving in a vehicle because she had been drinking, but then she took off on foot. Deputies located her and made arrangements for one of Powell’s relatives to give her a ride.

– Philip Crouse, Lower Elkton Road, Columbiana, called Sunday in regard to vandalism.

– Jedediah Schreffler, Cream Ridge Road, Elkrun Township, called at 12:16 a.m. Sunday in regard to phone harassment.

– David Birch, Failor Road, East Palestine, called at 10 p.m. Friday in regard to a missing person.

– Darlene Young, Bayview Drive, Beloit, reported Saturday the propane gas line underneath their trailer had a pin-sized hole in it and they believe it was intentional.

– Desirea Gamble, Purinton Avenue, East Liverpool, reported Friday her car was struck while parked in the Beaver Local High School lot, damaging the side front fender and side door of her Cavalier. A witness saw a yellow Ford pickup truck driven by Brad Scarsella strike the car, and he got out to observe the damage before leaving. Scarsella was contacted later and said he waited around for several minutes but no one came out, so he left to pick up his girlfriend’s niece before returning to the school.

– Mandy Hamrick, Stevens Drive, Knox Township, reported she and Virgil Minear were arguing when he punched her in the arm at 7:51 p.m. Saturday. Minear was arrested for domestic violence.

– Tom Cameron, Tower Road, Salem, reported striking a deer as he pulled into his driveway about 9 p.m. Saturday. The deputy put the deer down due to the extent of its injuries.

Highway Patrol

– Jesse S. Janosik, 24, Akron, was westbound on Cream Ridge Road in Elkrun Township at 12:45 a.m. Friday and hit a deer.

– Heather S. House, 31, West Salem Street, Columbiana, was southbound on state Route 164 in Fairfield Township at 7:30 a.m. Monday and hit a deer.

– Joseph J. Pahanish, 21, state Route 644, Salineville, was eastbound on state Route 39 in Washington Township at 7:10 a.m. Monday and went off the left side into a ditch. He was cited for failure to control.

– Molly A. Cunningham, 22, Alliance, was eastbound on U.S. 62 in Knox Township at 10:53 p.m. Friday and was struck by Leroy J. Thomas, 56, Goshen Road, Salem. Thomas was cited for assured clear distance and OVI.

– Kelli E. Winter, 45, Fairview Court, Salem, was southbound on Rochester Road in Knox Township at 10:40 a.m. Friday and went off the right side into a mailbox and re-entered the road and went off the right side again into a second mailbox and a ditch. She was cited for failure to control and taken to the SRMC with possible injuries.

– Brittany A. Hoschar, 22, East Main Street, Washingtonville, was southbound on state Route 7 in Fairfield Township at 6:45 a.m. Friday and hit two deer.

– Haley D. Thomas, 17, Lorain, was southbound on Steubenville Pike in Center Township at 8:25 p.m. Wednesday and went off the right side and overturned. She was cited for failure to control and taken to the SRMC with non-life-threatening injuries.

– Nicholas R. Woods, 28, Campground Road, Wellsville, and Kim Manley, 54, Sprucevale Road, East Liverpool, were southbound on state Route 7 in Middleton Township at 3:40 p.m. Wednesday and Manley struck Woods from behind. Manley was cited for assured clear distance.

– Payton A. Shannon, 17, Canfield, was northbound on South Raccoon Road in Mahoning County at 2:40 p.m. Wednesday and hit a pothole.

– David M. Torrence, 22, Canfield, was westbound on state Route 154 in Middleton Township at 2 a.m. Wednesday and went off the left side into a ditch and some water. He was cited for failure to control, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

East Palestine

– Police checked on a suspicious vehicle on West Main Street at 1:37 a.m. Monday. There were no problems.

Columbiana

– Jennifer Congemi reported at 8:50 a.m. Sunday she was having problems with Pat White at Heartland Christian School.

– Doug Roose, North Pearl Street, reported at 4 p.m. Sunday someone took a multi-colored gazing ball from his front yard.

– A woman reported at 7:12 p.m. Sunday an older couple in a silver SUV was at the Dairy Queen which was closed, and they tried the doors and were going through items on the patio. Police checked and found it was the owner and his family.

Salem

– Ronnie Williams, 55, of Cleveland, was cited for failure to control after the food distribution company truck he was driving east on State Street approaching Howard at 9:44 a.m. Monday struck a black metal light pole and knocked it to the ground, pulling down the wiring. He had driven partially off the right side of the road. The truck sustained disabling damage to the right side tires and wheels and the exterior mirror on the right side.

– Police conducted a well-being check at 9:37 p.m. Sunday on an elderly man in the 1300 block of South Lincoln. He said an aide was coming and he had a doctor’s appointment Monday.

– Police responded to several alarm drops at businesses throughout the city Sunday afternoon/early evening after a power failure. All were found secure. Officers also noted some traffic signals not working on the east side of town and other parts of town, along with power out to some businesses. Dispatch fielded 50 calls regarding the power being out, learning it was also out in Perry Township and other areas of the county.

– Brittany Mitcham, of Beloit, reported at 5:11 p.m. Sunday her vehicle was struck and damaged while it was parked at the Broadway Plaza.

– Alana Eller, 47, of North Ellsworth Avenue, was cited for reasonable control after she struck a parked vehicle while pulling into Taco Bell on East State at 4:29 p.m. Sunday. She tried to leave but was stopped by an employee. She said she didn’t realize she struck the other vehicle, owned by Patricia Graber, of Somerset Drive.

– Police checked Walmart for an animal left in a vehicle. The dog appeared fine, with all four windows partially open and the outside temperature not excessively warm.

– A woman on Southeast Boulevard reported at 2:15 p.m. Sunday a 37-inch TV was stolen from a storage shed behind her residence. The padlock was found laying on the ground.

– A woman at a business at 239 W. State St. reported at 1:28 p.m. Sunday three boys stole a stack of DVDs valued at $40.

– An officer assisted Washingtonville police with an incident in the 400 block of South County Road at 11:17 a.m. April 2.

– An officer responded to a verbal dispute in the 100 block of Main Street at 12:02 a.m. Friday.

– While on patrol an officer saw a suspicious vehicle in a garage at Wayside Lawn Structures at 3:45 a.m. Saturday. The officer checked the building and grounds, finding everything in good order.

– Dave Jones of AT&T reported protesters in front of the door at the business at 10:36 a.m. Saturday. The protest was believed to be union related, but they left before police arrived.

– Richard Hooper reported Saturday finding the word “comflexg” spray painted on his commercial building at 225 S. Main St.

– Darleyne Whaley, Maplewood Drive, reported Saturday someone put nails in front of her car tires.

– Austin Dehoff, Bristol Lane, reported Saturday two tarps stolen from his flatbed truck while it was parked at the 7 & 14 Truck Stop.

– Sean Peddicord reported seeing what ap-peared to be flames coming from D.W. Dickey property at 10:15 p.m. Saturday. Police found the source to be a red light emitting a glow similar to a heat light.

Salem

– Sonn Hostetter, 28, of 592 Taylor Ave., was OVI and left of center after a traffic stop at 2:44 a.m. Sunday on West State Street.

– A restaurant in the 2800 block of East State reported a man had been in the parking lot for an extended period of time at 10:52 p.m. Saturday. The man was still in his vehicle when police arrived. He was told to leave. He had a suspended driver’s license so he left on foot.

– Officers at 9:13 p.m. Saturday saw a man and woman who appeared to be arguing on East Pershing. Officers learned they weren’t arguing but were upset about an incident that just occurred with a group of juveniles. Another officer spoke with the kids and all were told to stay away from each other.

– Smith Oil, East State, reported a $20.14 drive-off at 8:48 p.m. Saturday.

– A Hanoverton woman reported Saturday her vehicle was struck while at Walmart earlier this week.

– A Jennings Avenue woman reported at 2:14 p.m. Saturday her sister was missing. She last saw her on Wednesday at her residence on Franklin Avenue and a neighbor last saw her on Thursday morning. Police had dealings with her Thursday night at GetGo and she was transported to SRMC. Her vehicle had been left there, but she was given her car keys. The man went to the parking lot and the vehicle was still there. An officer told the family to contact the hospital to see if they’ll give them any information since they could not tell the police anything. The officer noted if the sister did not want anyone to know she was there, the hospital couldn’t tell anyone due to HIPPA privacy laws.

– A neighbor dispute was reported at 12:45 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of Aetna Street where a man said he walked out onto his front porch and his neighbor began yelling obscenities at him. The neighbor brought a wooden bat outside threatening him and was swinging it at the bushes separating the two yards and struck the man’s house with the bat. Officers found a dent in the man’s home. The neighbor denied all allegations.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Melissa Shaffer, Gurlea Drive, Hanoverton, requested a check at 9:16 p.m. Friday on her sister Christina Radcliff, Wooddale Drive, Lisbon. Radcliff reportedly sent her sister a text message stating that she had just overdosed and considered harming herself. Radcliff went on her own will with KLG Ambulance to a local hospital.

– Nathan Powell, Sandy Creek Road, Minerva, reported at 10:24 p.m. Friday his girlfriend, Ashley Sanders, was intoxicated and attempted to leave in her vehicle when he stopped her. She then left the house after she couldn’t leave in her vehicle. Deputies located her in the area and arranged for a family member to pick her up.

– Darlene Young, Bayview Drive, Beloit, reported at 1:57 p.m. Saturday she found the propane gas line damaged underneath her trailer as she found a pin hole in the line. Young believed her neighbors made the hole on purpose.

Columbiana

– An employee from Hearing Aids and Devices at the Oakmont Plaza reported at 9:31 a.m. Friday the front window was shot by a BB gun. The glass in an interior door was also damaged but remained in place.

– A woman reported at 11:30 a.m. Friday the “Welcome to Columbiana” sign blew over at the intersection of East Park Avenue and state Route 14. An officer assisted with moving the sign out of the road until the street department arrived.

– An employee at Ankle and Foot Care reported at 11:52 a.m. Friday that Rufus Rodgers was asked to leave and Rodgers wouldn’t do so. Officers spoke with Rodgers, who was advised not to return.

– Jason Siddle, 40, reported at 6:16 p.m. Friday he was bitten by a dog owned by Brad Kasunich, 31, in the area of South Cross Street. Siddle was taken by EMS to a local hospital. Charges are pending as the incident remains under investigation.

East Palestine

– Meaghan A. Workman, 19, North Market Street, reported at 10:49 a.m. Thursday she was walking south on North Market Street when a man in a green car got out of the vehicle, grabbed her purse and wallet, got back in the car and continued down the road. Workman said she recovered her purse and wallet down the road. The incident remains under investigation.

-Kristina L. Ferguson, 41, East Rebecca Street reported at 11:37 a.m. Thursday she received a check in the mail to pay for an item she was selling on Craigslist, but suspected the check to be counterfeit since it was for an amount well in excess of the agreed upon price, and the buyer requested to send the additional funds, in the form of a money gram at Walmart, to his moving person.

Salem

– A caller at 4:21 a.m. Saturday reported unknown people making noise in the 300 block of West Seventh Street by revving the engines of their vehicles. Officers checked the area and heard no noise.

– Officers were called for a dispute between two people in the city at 2:31 a.m. Saturday. Officers made contact with the people who were talking while walking down the sidewalk and they said all was fine. They were just talking loudly.

– Officers on patrol at 1:23 a.m. Saturday saw a male and female appear to walk around a barricade on the closed section of East State Street downtown. They made contact with the people who said they walked around the barricade on the corner of East State Street and North Broadway and were not in the closed construction portion. No problem was found.

– Police assisted a Perry Township police unit at 12:26 a.m. Saturday on a traffic stop at South Lincoln Avenue and Snyder Road.

– An open door was reported at 9:57 p.m. Friday in the 2100 block of Merle Road. Officers checked the residence and found no one inside.

– Dogs were reported at large in the 600 block of Washington Avenue at 9:22 p.m. Friday. A resident said the neighbor’s dogs had been in his yard and he had to take his own dogs inside for their safety. The neighbor was contacted and said the dogs had gotten out by accident and apologized.

– A caller at 8:32 p.m. Friday reported a vehicle with its emergency flashers on blocking the road in the 500 block of East Pershing Street. Officers didn’t locate any vehicles interfering with traffic.

– Christopher Hyler, of 4433 Depot Road, was taken into custody on an active warrant for violation of a protection order after a traffic stop at 7:56 p.m. Friday at Park Avenue and East State Street. Hyler was a passenger in the vehicle and was turned over to a Columbiana County sheriff’s deputy.

– Police were called at 7:52 p.m. Friday to the 500 block of North Howard Avenue for a well-being check on a mentally handicapped woman. A neighbor had called and noticed her sitting outside her home. She was locked out. Officers were able to gain entry into the residence because a neighbor had an extra key. A family member said she could stay with them, so officers transported her to the family member’s home. The crisis counseling center was advised of the situation.

– Joseph Rinaldi, 49, of Homeworth, was cited for assured clear distance after his eastbound vehicle struck the rear of another eastbound vehicle driven by Heath Dangler, 31, of Jennings Avenue, who was stopped in traffic at 6:53 p.m. Friday on East Pershing Street.

– Police responded at 6:28 p.m. Friday to South Ellsworth Avenue for a report of the railroad crossing gates malfunctioning. Police saw the crossing gates go down and a train go through with no issues. A short time later, the crossing gate malfunctioned again. Norfolk Southern responded to correct the problem.

– An officer at 5:50 p.m. Friday took a report of phone harassment that took place in the 1100 block of East Third Street. The officer spoke to both parties and advised each of them to stop texting and calling each other.

– Officers responded at 5:25 p.m. Friday to the area of West Wilson Street and Sharp Street for a report of a juvenile riding a skateboard in the road. The juvenile was found and apologized. He was told to be more careful and stay out of the road.

– Officers checked the well-being of a Sharp Street resident in the 600 block at 4:29 p.m. Friday, finding everything okay with the woman.

– Police responded to a complaint of domestic violence at 4:18 p.m. Friday in the 600 block of West Pershing Street, saw physical injuries and took a juvenile male into custody as the primary aggressor. The juvenile was released to his mother after speaking with a juvenile officer on the matter.

-A man in the 400 block of West State Street reported at 4:09 p.m. Friday that he listed a vehicle for sale on a website and he was contacted by a person claiming they were from New York. The person sent a money order for the vehicle that was found to be no good. Officers told the man his options.

– A man in the 600 block of East Fifth Street reported at 3:47 p.m. Friday that his vehicle was struck and damaged while parked in the street.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– A disturbance was reported at 2:38 a.m. Friday at the Beech Street, Lisbon, home of Christine Keir. Neither party of a domestic issue wanted to pursue charges and he agreed to leave for the night.

Highway Patrol

-Jamie Lynn Miller, 39, Pancake-Clarkson Road, Rogers, was cited for reckless operation after she wrecked while passing another vehicle on a hill and in a no-passing zone on state Route 172 in West Township at 3:25 p.m. Tuesday. Miller’s Cobalt went off the road until a ditch and struck an embankment. The force of the impact knocked out the rear window and blew out all four tires. While Miller was uninjured, her passenger, Jamie Swanson, 36, U.S. Route 30, Lisbon, was taken by ambulance to an area hospital with non-threatening injuries.

Lisbon

– Emma Rose Bailey, Beeson Mill Road, Leetonia, and Elizabeth Brooks Bowman of North Benton were both backing up in the county government services building when their vehicles struck at 7:41 p.m. Wednesday.

Columbiana

– Police responded to some kind of altercation at the apartments on Park Court at 6 a.m. Thursday involving Paul Morris, Courtney Geer and Alexander Morris. Geer and Alexander Morris were warned about criminal trespassing.

– A caller reported there was a solicitor on Allen Avenue at 3:17 p.m. Thursday. The person was located and found to have a solicitor’s permit.

– A caller reported there were people pointing a green laser on other people as they walked by on Main and Howard streets at 9:34 p.m. Thursday.

East Palestine

– Police were called to the high school on Wednesday after a 15-year-old male student reportedly made threatening comments towards his teacher, Diana M. Roth. The matter was referred to the student’s probation officer and county juvenile court.

-A report of people yelling in the streets at 284 West St. was received at 10 p.m. Monday. Police said there was no fight and it was just a group of people goofing around outside. The group was warned about the noise.

East Liverpool

– After an officer reported seeing him on Potters Lane with a can of computer duster in his mouth, Steven C. Schneider, 37, Market Street, was charged with abusing harmful intoxicants. Schneider was incoherent when the officer approached him, according to reports.

– William E. Martin II, 36, Blakeley Street, was charged with criminal mischief after Tiffany Satler, North Shady Lane, reported seeing him throw a brick, breaking his brother’s window. Martin told officers his brother had smashed his DVD player, and officers reported they did find a broken DVD player on Laura Street where they located Martin, where he had been chased by his brother, Scott Martin. Another witness, Reva McCullough, Ambrose Avenue, was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant.

– An officer reported seeing Rebbecca L. Gray, 33, Youngstown, pull her vehicle into the A-1 parking lot, open her door and sit in the car for a few minutes before walking behind his cruiser and up a muddy embankment to Erie Street. He reported Gray had a strong smell of marijuana about her and continued walking away from him as he tried speaking with her. She became belligerent and said she had just smoked weed before pulling into the lot, telling the officer it is not illegal to smoke weed, just to sell it. The officer reported Gray had been seen the previous day in the same parking lot and on a previous day, when stopped, the K-9 officer Ivo had detected marijuana residue in her vehicle, when she was given a warning. Gray was charged with obstructing official business.

St. Clair Township

– Officers were dispatched Wednesday to the Pretty Boy Floyd monument on Sprucevale Road for some type of disturbance and found Nicholas Hill, no address listed, with his vehicle stuck in the mud. Hill advised he had come to watch the sunset and gotten his vehicle stuck. First Class Towing removed his vehicle, and Hill was told the park ranger was notified and could be contacting him about damage to the field and driving past a “no vehicle zone” sign.

– A vehicle was reported broken into at the picnic area of Beaver Creek State Park Wednesday. The owner’s name was not included in the report.

Salem

– Debra A. Dantona, 56, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead following a three-vehicle crash on South Lincoln Avenue at Franklin Street at 3:23 p.m. Tuesday in which she was northbound and struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Leah E. Janci, 24, Leetonia, pushing it into the rear of a vehicle driven by Caleb G. Shaw, 22, Lisbon. Janci and Dantona were transported to the hospital with possible injuries.

– A West Wilson Street resident reported at 9:36 a.m. Thursday someone overnight had entered vehicles parked on the street, ransacking the interior and removing a wallet containing bank cards and some change.

– Paul K. Joy, 44, 669 E. Fifth St., Salem, was arrested at his home at 10:21 a.m. Thursday on a warrant out of the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear on a probable cause hearing.

– Erick L. Theiss, 72, Salem, was cited for failure to control following a one-vehicle crash at 11:12 a.m. Thursday in which he was northbound on Southeast Boulevard and attempted to turn left onto Park Avenue when he slid in the curb lawn, striking a tree, while attempting to avoid another vehicle. No injuries were reported.

– Police responded to the area of Southeast Boulevard and South Madison Avenue at 2:20 p.m. Thursday where a disoriented and confused woman was requesting medical and mental assistance at the hospital. First responders and an ambulance arrived to assist the woman.

– Officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 600 block of West Pershing Street at 4:37 p.m. Thursday and found it to be a verbal dispute regarding family issues.

– Police responded to an East State Street gas station at 8:08 p.m. Thursday for a report of a woman acting in a strange and erratic manner. She was transported to the hospital for evaluation.

– Officers responded to a report of suspicious activity at a home in the 2300 of Kennedy Drive at 10:07 p.m. Thursday and found it to be a malfunctioning garage light.

– Police responded to a West Fifth Street home at 11:07 p.m. Thursday for a verbal dispute. A woman said she wanted a man to leave and he complied.

– Officers responded to a domestic dispute in the 100 block of South Howard Avenue at 11:57 p.m. Thursday, finding broken glass in the home. A man said that he broke the glass because he was arguing with his girlfriend who was no longer on the scene.

– Police responded to an East Fifth Street home at 2:11 a.m. Friday where the resident reported somebody knocking on her door. Officers were unable to find anyone in the immediate area, but spoke with a man walking nearby, sending him on his way.

– An officer responded to the Salem hospital at 2:26 a.m. Friday for a report of a combative patient who was being disruptive, loud and pulling medical equipment off his body. The officer spoke with the patient who agreed to remain calm.

– An officer responded to a South Howard Avenue home at 9:46 a.m. Friday where a woman reported finding a pellet gun while cleaning the bedroom of a previous juvenile roommate and said that she did not want the item in her home.

– A Rose Avenue resident reported on station at 12:15 p.m. Friday that following another incident at the home to which officers responded on Wednesday, the man involved refused to leave and then grabbed her by the throat while she was holding their infant child, not letting go until she struck him several times about the face with a plastic cup. She said a male friend was able to push him away and get him to leave, but that he returned, highly intoxicated, through a window and fell asleep on a couch. She said the next morning he took their infant child and left, then came back for their 3-year-old daughter and presented a custody agreement which appeared to be typed by an unknown person.

– An officer responded to a West Pershing Street home at 2:33 p.m. Friday where the resident reported someone overnight had apparently attempted to enter the home through a window, damaging the frame.

– Police responded to a West Wilson Street home at 2:35 p.m. Friday where the resident reported someone overnight had slashed all four tires and broke out the driver’s side window on a vehicle parked at the rear of the home.

Perry Township

– An officer responded with Columbiana County Children Services to a Cunningham Road home at 8:41 a.m. Thursday to stand by while a children services representative advised the family of a safety plan that was ordered to be put in place while an investigation was conducted regarding an alleged domestic dispute reported to their agency over the weekend. The message was delivered without incident.

– An officer spoke with a Newgarden Avenue resident at 12:45 p.m. Thursday in reference to a custody dispute involving her child’s father in which he has refused to return the children as agreed in their shared parenting order. The officer spoke with the father who agreed to return the child until their court appearance later this month.

– Police were advised of a flooded roadway with debris in the 1800 block of North Egypt Road at 4:15 p.m. Thursday. The road department was notified to clear the road once the water receded.

– A patrolling officer observed a vehicle sitting on the shoulder of the roadway on state Route 45 between state Route 9 and Georgetown Road at 11:35 p.m. Thursday. The driver advised that he was en route from Warren to Youngstown and had gotten a flat tire, but that his wife and friend were on their way with a spare. He also said he believed he was near Youngstown. The officer contacted the wife who said that she was estranged from the driver and had no knowledge of the flat tire. She said that her husband was suffering from numerous medical issues. And ambulance transported him to the hospital for evaluation and the wife was told how to retrieve the vehicle, registered in her name.

Goshen Police District

– Police received a report of a missing mailbox in the 13000 block of Duck Creek Road at 6:40 a.m. March 29.

– Police responded to a Fourth Street, Beloit, home at 10:25 p.m. March 29 for a report of someone possibly trying to gain entry into the home, but found no suspicious people in the area.

– An officer responded to at 5000 block Middletown Road home at 3:34 p.m. March 30 for a report of people shooting toward a housing development. The officer observed a proper backstop and the individuals shooting in a safe direction.

– A Pine Lake Road resident reported at 1:04 p.m. April 2 that someone had used her personal information to file taxes in 2014.

– A Colonial Villa resident reported at 9:42 p.m. April 2 that someone was peeping into her windows.

– Cory S. Bravis, 18, Sebring, was cited for assured clear distance ahead following a two-vehicle crash in Goshen Township at 3:27 p.m. April 3 in which he was westbound on U.S. Route 62 and struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Jeri D. Cosma, 45, Kensington, who was waiting to turn left onto Meadow Wood Drive. No injuries were reported.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Brandon Hoschar, West Salem Street, Columbiana, reported at 9:52 p.m. Wednesday he was assaulted by three people while at the bike trail parking lot in Franklin Square. Hoschar claims he was pulled from his vehicle, thrown to the ground, punched in the head numerous times and had his head beaten off the back of his vehicle. He was unsure who assaulted him and was not planning to seek medical treatment.

– Diane Walker, Ridge Road, East Rochester, reported at 3:52 p.m. Wednesday her mother would not allow her to retrieve her personal items or child from the home she shares with her parents and her brother. Walker further claims she was assaulted in Minerva on Monday by her brother. Deputies spoke to Walker’s mother, Darlene Rhrar, who agreed to allow Walker to come get her belongings and her child.

– The father of a 12-year-old Homeworth boy, reported at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday his son told him he was next door at the neighbor’s garage and when he exited the garage a man he did not know grabbed him, dragged him across the street, took him into the alley and raped him. The man was then picked up in a black S-10 pickup. While investigating the matter, deputies learned the boy had made up the whole story so his father would not discipline him for being out past curfew.

– A 15-year-old girl living on state Route 7, Negley, reported at 2:11 p.m. Wednesday she came home from school and found someone had broken into her home. The doors were wide open, but she said it did not appear anything was missing.

– The mother of a girl living on U.S. Route 30, Lisbon, reported at 5:55 a.m. Wednesday her daughter is receiving many prank phone calls and text messages from someone she knows. Information was also forwarded by deputies to Frank Baker at United Schools due to the contacts happening during school hours.

Lisbon

– Jessica Miller, East High Street, called about a prowler at 11:13 p.m. Saturday. Miller had pulled into her driveway and, after taking the children inside, went back to the vehicle to retrieve her purse, keys from the ignition and turn off the lights. She found her purse had been moved to the floorboards, her keys missing from the ignition and the lights turned off. Nothing was missing, however. Miller looked around and saw a man walking down the street.

– Tim Adkins, North Market Street, asked for an officer to be present while Angela Howe moved out at 1:29 p.m. Tuesday.

– Mark A. Lewis, 56, West Wilson Street, Salem, was charged with public intoxication/disorderly conduct at his brother’s home on Caldwell Avenue at 5:45 a.m. Thursday.

– Hannah Bosel reported her wallet was stolen Tuesday while she was at the junior/senior high school, where she is a student.

– David R. Jackson, Frischkorn Drive, Wellsville, was stopped for the red light on South Market Street when his pickup truck was struck in the rear by an SUV driven by Nancy L. Groff, Grant Street, at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday.

Columbiana

– A woman reported at 6:37 a.m. Wednesday there was a suspicious person in the are of West Woodland Road. Police checked but found no one.

– A man reported at 7:54 p.m. Wednesday someone in a car in front of him on state Route 14 threw something out the window.

– A woman reported at 8:13 p.m. Wednesday there was a vehicle broke down at the state Route 7 and 14 intersection. Police found the man was able to get the car into a nearby parking lot and was waiting for assistance.

– Brandon Houschar, reported at 9:40 p.m. Wednesday he was jumped by three people on West Salem Street. Police found it was outside city limits and the county sheriff’s office was notified.

East Liverpool

– Patrolman Chris Green received a call from the ex-girlfriend of Timothy N. Redman, 30, claiming he had kicked in her basement door and stolen the food she had just purchased. He was in her neighborhood when advised someone in a vehicle had just purchased drugs from a man on First Avenue. He located the vehicle and Redman was the front seat passenger, according to reports. When he initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, Green said he saw Redman with a white substance in his mouth he knew was crack cocaine and told him to spit it out. After he failed to do so following several commands, Green used his Taser to dry stun Redman, who began fighting with the officer while he was still inside the vehicle. At one point in the fight, Green’s hand was dry stunned with his Taser. As Redman was told to exit the vehicle, he reportedly continued fighting with Green then tried to run, becoming entangled in the Taser wires and falling to the ground. Green had to use his Taser on Redman more than once during the struggle, according to reports. A folded up napkins containing suspected crack cocaine was found lying on the ground where Redman had lain, Green reported. Redman was charged with disorderly conduct/intoxication, resisting arrest and obstructing official business.

Salem Township

– Joann C. Tarke, St. JacobsLogtown Road, Lisbon, reported at 3:26 p.m. Tuesday she discovered an online purchase had been made from her checking account in the amount of $128.09, which she had not authorized.

Perry Township

– Police saw a vehicle traveling at an extremely high rate of speed run through a red traffic light at state Route 14 and state Route 45 at 11:26 p.m. Tuesday and attempted to make a traffic stop, but the vehicle didn’t stop. As police were discontinuing the attempt, the vehicle turned onto Seacrest Road and appeared to slow as if it were stopping. As police pulled onto Seacrest Road, the vehicle accelerated and then pulled into a yard and the driver ran from the vehicle. The driver was not located and the vehicle came back to a rental company. The vehicle was towed to be released to the rental company.

– Police closed state Route 14 between Michigan and Ohio Boulevard at 6:25 p.m. Tuesday to assist the township fire department in removing a tree limb hanging over the roadway and laying on cable wires. Once the tree limb was removed, the roadway was opened.

– Police were contacted at 1:55 p.m. Tuesday by a guidance counselor from Salem High School about a matter that had taken place over the weekend involving threats made against a person living in the township. The counselor said they contacted the proper agencies and wanted police to be aware of the incident.

– A female was reported standing on the edge of the road at the intersection of state Route 45 and Georgetown Road at 12:16 p.m. Tuesday who appeared to be in distress according to the caller. Police spoke to the female who said she had been sick for the past month and had not been taking her medication. She requested transport to the hospital. KLG responded and took her to Salem Regional Medical Center for further evaluation.

Salem

– Police responded to a domestic at 12:43 a.m. Wednesday in the 500 block of Fair Avenue where a female caller said the father of her child became angry and grabbed her pushing her into the bathroom. He left before police arrived and could not be found. Minor red marks were seen on her arms, with information sent to the prosecutor.

– A man in the 700 block of East Fifth Street reported an assault at 11:43 p.m. Tuesday. The victim had minor injuries and advised officers of a possible suspect.

– Police responded to a call at 8:34 p.m. Tuesday of a possible drug deal at South Madison Avenue and East State Street. Upon arrival, one of the vehicles was gone and the other one was unoccupied. The area was checked, but no one was located.

– A man from East School Street reported at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday that his cell phone was lost or stolen. He called later to say the phone was found.

– An officer outside of a patrol unit in the 100 block of Ohio Avenue at 7:47 p.m. Tuesday heard 10 gunshots that sounded as if they originated from somewhere southeast of that area. The shots were clearly audible but somewhat muted, possibly far enough to have originated from outside the city. No other calls of noise were reported. No other disturbance was heard after the initial volley of shots.

– An officer on patrol at 7:34 p.m. Tuesday noticed a brindle pit bull walking along the sidewalk without a collar or leash. When the officer attempted to capture the animal, it ran to the back yard of a residence in the 600 block of Franklin. The officer knocked at the home and they said it was their dog and he must have broken the chain. The owner said he would tie the dog back on his leash.

– Officers responded to the 1500 block of Franklin for a well-being check at 5:53 p.m. Tuesday. A motor vehicle was in the driveway, but it didn’t appear anyone was home. The caller said she would check the residence later.

– An officer at 5:43 p.m. Tuesday took a report of a private property crash that occurred in the parking lot of a business in the 1300 block of Salem Parkway. The incident occurred on Monday, but was not immediately reported. Minor damage was observed to the caller’s vehicle.

– A Deming Street resident at 5:36 p.m. Tuesday reported a lost ATM card. The report was taken as a precaution in case the card was stolen.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Kayla Ecklund, Stephen Drive, Minerva, reported a child custody dispute at 9:19 a.m. Wednesday. Deputies told her to contact her attorney. Timothy Secor, the father of the child, also contacted deputies about the same issue and was also urged to go through his attorney.

– Jennifer Fitzsimmons, Crestview Road, Columbiana, reported at 6:59 a.m. Wednesday someone dumped at least a box of nails in her driveway overnight. She found them when she took out the trash and is concerned because it was not the first time it has happened.

– Jason Jayne, state Route 14, East Palestine, reported at 2:26 a.m. Wednesday the ex-husband of a friend, Christina Minger, has been calling her at all hours of the day, harassing her.

– Bruce Gabbert, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported at 12:02 a.m. Wednesday he and his live-in girlfriend, Helen Cunningham, argued and she punched him in the face and chest. He had no visible injuries and did not wish to press charges. Cunningham reported Gabbert also punched her in the chest, but she also refused to press charges and had no visible injuries. Gabbert wanted Cunningham to leave, but deputies explained she could not be forced to leave.

– An alarm sounded at the home of Thomas Cozza, Salem Grange Road, Salem, at 12:50 p.m. Tuesday and deputies arrived to find the exterior glass of the sliding glass door was broken out. The residence and the remaining doors and windows were found to be secure.

Highway Patrol

– Kelly S. Pfirrman, 54, Y Camp Road, Lisbon, was northbound on East Liverpool Road in Madison Township at 9:49 p.m. Tuesday and reportedly swerved to miss a deer and went off the left side into a ditch. She was cited for failure to control and OVI refusal.

– Gary L. Rohr, 59, Massillon, was westbound on state Route 172 in Hanover Township at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday and Roxanne Nicole Phillips, 19, Spillway Road, Lisbon, was initially southbound on Spillway Road before turning east onto state Route 172 and struck Rohr’s vehicle and then continued on. She was later cited for failure to yield and leaving the scene.

– Domenic L. Carrocce, 21, Canfield, was northbound on state Route 164 in Center Township at 2:46 a.m. Tuesday and went off the right side into a road sign, a mailbox and a tree. He was cited for failure to control and taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

– Ray C. Crooms, 46, Clarksmill Road, Hammondsville, was southeastbound on state Route 644 in Franklin Township at 7:30 p.m. Monday and went off the right side into a guardrail and overturned. He was cited for failure to control, OVI and possession of marijuana and taken by medical helicopter to St. Elizabeth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

– Shelley Roberts, 55, state Route 39, Salineville, was eastbound on state Route 39 in Washington Township at 10:35 a.m. Monday and turning left into a private lost and was struck by James M. Steeves, 21, Steubenville Pike, Salineville, who was following Roberts eastbound. After impact, Roberts went off the road into a utility pole and Steeves struck two mailboxes off the north side. Steeves was cited for failure to control and Roberts was taken to East Liverpool City Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

– Terry L. Mellott, 61, Walnut Ridge Road, Salineville, was northbound on state Route 164 in Wayne Township at 5:45 a.m. Monday and hit a deer.

– Susan M. Pierce, 49, Northeast, Pa., was southbound on state Route 11 in Fairfield Township at 4:40 p.m. Sunday and hit a deer.

– Lorie A. Guthrie, 53, Rubicon Street, East Liverpool, was northbound on state Route 7 in Fairfield Township at 11:50 a.m. Sunday and went off the east side into a utility pole and a sign. She was cited for failure to control and taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boardman with non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger, Treyden D. Slade, 1, Wilburt Avenue, East Liverpool, was also taken with possible injuries.

– April Mae Nail, 25, England Drive, East Palestine, and Joshua R. Andrews, 24, North Walnut Street, East Palestine, were northbound on state Route 170 in Middleton Township at 6 p.m. Saturday and Andrews attempted to pass and struck Nail. Andrews was cited for improper passing.

– Gregory C. Duwe, 60, West Main Street, East Palestine, was eastbound on Padgett Road in Unity Township at 12:50 a.m. Saturday and went off the right side into a ditch. He was cited for failure to control and OVI.

– Robert Andrew Seman III, 19, Poland, was northbound on state Route 11 in Madison Township at 12:45 p.m. Friday and spun off the right side into a highway sign and an embankment. He was cited for failure to control.

– Wendell L. Scarbrough, 58, Alliance, and Meghan C. Lane, 25, Massillon, were eastbound on state Route 172 in West Township at 7:55 a.m. Friday and Scarbrough stopped at a stop sign and was struck by Lane. Lane was cited for assured clear distance.

Columbiana

– A Spinnaker Drive man, name not listed, reported at 10:53 a.m. Tuesday someone filed a false tax return in his name.

– Permits were issued to Kirby Sweeper representatives to solicit in the city at 11:44 a.m. Tuesday.

– A woman reported at noon Tuesday someone in a silver blazer was driving erratically. The vehicle was found in the Burger King parking lot drive-through and followed by police eastbound on state Route 14 but not traffic violations were observed.

– Robert Macklin, North Elm Street, reported at 5:23 p.m. Tuesday Kayla Macklin was at his home causing problems. The woman later left.

– Police issued a parking citation to a vehicle parked on the wrong side of East Southern Street at 6:25 p.m. Tuesday.

East Palestine

– A junk motor vehicle notice was sent to Terri L. Amos, West Martin Street, at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

East Liverpool

– A glass smoking pipe and baggies were recovered and removed from the back yard of a home on Florence Street at the request of homeowner Patricia Myers.

– Shelly J. Graham, no address listed, reported she set down her cell phone in the restroom at Giant Eagle and forgot it. She told police the woman who entered the restroom after her must have taken the phone.

– Employees of Comfort Keepers reported a woman may have used a client’s credit card to purchase items for herself. The case is under investigation. The report did not indicate the woman’s connection to the client or company.

– Lindsey Potts, Morton Street, reported fraudulent charges on her Visa card at four different websites.

– Benjamin R. Estell, Allison Street, reported his vehicle entered and the contents torn out of the glove compartment, with his belongings ransacked. Nothing appeared to be missing, according to reports.

St. Clair Township

– Sierra B. Davis, 24, no address listed, was charged with theft Monday after reportedly being seen taking two DVDs and concealing them in a diaper bag without paying for them before paying for 28 other items at Walmart.

– Earl W. Campbell, Eagle Drive, reported at the police station unusual behavior at his residence. The report did not specify what the unusual behavior was or who was involved.

– Nicole D. Smith, Woodland Drive, reported fraudulent activity on her credit card account.

Lisbon

– Police received a complaint about a dog at the Tom Foley residence on North Jefferson Street at 5:16 p.m. Tuesday. Foley was told to keep his dog from going to the bathroom in neighbors’ yards.

– Tim Wamsley, East Chestnut Street, called at 3:16 p.m. Friday to report a man was abusing a young girl in front of his residence. Police arrived and spoke to the man, Paul Meyers, who said he grabbed his 9-year-old daughter to bring her in the house after she had run down the street. Police checked the girl and did not find any signs of abuse.

– Paul Meyers, North Vine Street, reported Saturday finding a bandana tied to a rock that was left on his porch. Meyers was also threatened by Glenn Libert as he walked by, and the threat was in regard to the call the day before about his daughter.

– Mary Shaulis, Maple Street Extension, reported a domestic dispute at her residence at 8 p.m. Sunday involving Kevin Criss. Shaulis said Criss, 47, punched her on the arm, and he was arrested for domestic violence. Criss stated that Shaulis had broken his phone and tried throwing it at him.

– Stanley Cusick reported motorists were speeding and running stops signs at the park on Cedar Avenue at 5:52 p.m. Sunday. Police did not find any vehicles committing any of these violations.

– The highway patrol reported coming across a gold Malibu driving recklessly into town on state Route 164 at 5:45 p.m. Sunday. Police found the vehicle but the driver did not commit any traffic violations. The car pulled over at the Elkton Auto Corrall and the driver and passenger switched sides.

– Kim Hays, Pine Street Extension, reported at 5 p.m. Friday that Ian Wellington kicked in the door to her garage. Wellington admitted doing so but only because Hays had shut him inside. Wellington agreed to leave on his own.

– The stop sign at the intersection of Sherman and Hostetter streets was found bent over at 11:39 p.m. Saturday after having apparently been struck.

-James Harter, North Market Street, reported at 6:35 p.m. Saturday he had been drinking and his wife would not let him in the house. April Harter said he became angry because she will not give him money to buy more beer, so she locked him out and then he began banging on the door. Mrs. Harter left the residence with the children to defuse the situation.

POLICE

Columbiana

– An Allen Avenue woman reported at 10 a.m. Monday someone removed a colorful gazing ball from her front yard.

– Police sent a 10-day notice to Carie Clinton, Columbiana, for restitution of a $10 parking ticket or she would be charged.

– Austin Simona, Cherokee Lane, reported at 12:12 p.m. Monday yard ornaments were stolen.

– Robert Gurule, address not listed, reported at 4:53 p.m. Monday that while securing a house on Quincy Avenue for a bank it was discovered the water heater was missing.

– A man reported at 7:40 p.m. Monday a suspicious person in a red Ford Focus with Pennsylvania license plates was in the area of the court for a while. Police found William Pisciuneri soliciting with a permit.

– Laura Gaskill, North West Street, reported at 9 p.m. Monday items were stolen from a property on West Park Avenue.

East Liverpool

– Officers responded to a report of a theft from a vehicle where $20 in change, random bills, four T-shirts and five packs of cigarettes were taken. A clerk from Gina’s Drive-Through reported that Brenston Trevelle Thompkins, 19, Saint George Street, had asked to exchange three packs of cigarettes for other merchandise and was refused. He was charged with petty theft.

St. Clair Township

– Jayshawn Jermarcus Sanders, 18, Youngstown, was charged with theft after he reportedly selected a shirt and Twinkies at Walmart and walked out without paying for them. He was confronted by store personnel outside the store, and the items were recovered.

County Sheriff

– Bob Deprill, address not listed, reported at 8:45 a.m. Monday he was having a problem at his business, Point Spring Drive Shaft on state Route 644 in Kensington, over the last two weeks. Deprill said someone has been throwing bricks and rocks from the railroad tracks at the rear door of the business causing damage to the doors.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Marshall Helman, West South Range Road, Columbiana, reported at 3:10 p.m. Sunday that while his 17-year-old daughter is at her mother’s house she allows a 23-year-old man to come over to the house. Helman said he told his daughter’s mother about his concerns but she still allows it. A deputy told him it is the mother’s choice who she allows into the home while she has custody of their daughter.

-Sherry Kissinger, Scotts Mill Road, Rogers, reported at 1:51 p.m. Sunday her neighbor’s cattle had been in her yard and caused damaged. The neighbor’s son told the deputy a recent wind had knocked a tree onto the fence causing it to break, which allowed the cows to get through.

-Julia Burt, Buchanan Drive, Boardman, reported at 6:40 p.m. Sunday she had a scheduled child-custody exchange with her ex-husband Tad Burt at a location on Fairfield School Road in Fairfield Township. A deputy spoke with Mr. Burt, who said the exchange was scheduled for 8 p.m.

-Susan Harshbarger, Hillcrest Road, Wellsville, reported at 3:23 p.m. Sunday she heard bullets fly past her head while in the wooded area on her property. A deputy spoke with William Neville, who said he was shooting into the hillside. It was determined the backstop he was using was not adequate, and Neville said he would remove a portion of his fence to provide a proper backstop and not continue shooting until it was completed.

-A deputy secured an open door at a vacant home on North Ellsworth Avenue in Salem at 7:34 p.m. Sunday.

-Tavia Birnesser, Bentwood Drive, New Waterford, reported at 10 a.m. Friday someone broke the windshield of her 2007 Saturn View during the night.

-A deputy was called to the Rogers Community Auction at 9:24 p.m. Friday for a report of suspicious activity. None was found.

-Danielle Burbick, Roller Coaster Road, reported at 5 a.m. Saturday her live-in boyfriend Brandon Malone was refusing to leave the home after she told him to when she found some text messages on his phone from another woman. Burbick said Malone became physically and verbally abusive to her when she told him to leave, shoving her against the wall twice and threatening to hurt her. Malone told a deputy that Burbick woke him up by throwing a shirt at him and that his ears were still ringing, and that he also suffers from post traumatic stress disorder as a result of being in the military. Malone was charged with domestic violence and taken to the Columbiana County Jail.

Lisbon

– Police checked on the welfare of a West Lincoln Way resident at 11:50 p.m. Saturday, and the woman there said she was fine and she had her reasons for not returning phone calls.

– Police checked on the welfare of a North Market Street resident at 12:45 a.m. Sunday. The woman was found sitting in a running vehicle, and this had been going on for an hour. The woman told police she was fine.

– Roxanne Lucas reported Friday being threatened earlier in the day by someone she knows after testifying at the Nick Carosiello murder trial in county common pleas court. Lucas said the woman told her she was going to die, and the matter was referred to the county prosecutor’s office. In the meantime, Lucas intends to seek a protection order against the person.

– Police were called to a dispute at the home of Mary Shulis, Maple Street Extension, at 10:27 p.m. Friday, where a Richard Goyette reported he traveled from New Hampshire to live with Shulis after they met on the Internet. Shulis denied this and said she wanted Goyette to leave. The officer checked the call/texting history in Goyette’s phone and discovered none of the calls/text messages were to Shulis, or vice versa. The officer told Goyette someone must be playing a trick on him and Shulis was not the one contacting him. He was escorted from the property to the Days Inn so he had a place to say for the night.

– Police responded to multiple 911 calls from the home at 336 E. Washington St. at 11:55 p.m. Friday. The woman at home said her nephew hit the emergency button on his cellphone and everything was fine.

– Police were called to a North Market Street residence at 7:27 p.m. Saturday by a man who said he wanted an ambulance on stand by because he might need help at some point. The man was told to only call 911 if there was a legitimate and immediate emergency and that ambulance crews are always on stand by to assist.

– Police were called to 533 W. Washington St. in regard to a parking complaint at 9:32 p.m. Saturday. The vehicle owner was located and the vehicle was moved.

Columbiana

– Police checked on suspicious vehicles on East Park Avenue and the Casual Carpet parking lot shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday. There were no problems.

– Police assisted Beaver Township with a traffic stop on Reckenberger Road at 2:15 a.m. Sunday.

– Police checked on a suspicious vehicle at the Columbiana Nazarene Church parking lot at 2:20 a.m. Sunday. There were no problems.

– Police assisted Beaver Township with locating a vehicle reported speeding in the area of Garfield Avenue at 4 a.m. Sunday.

– Kevin McLaughlin reported at 12:58 p.m. Sunday there was a dog running loose in the area of North Cross Street and the dog is frequently running at large and tormenting the other dogs in the area.

– A man reported at 10 p.m. Sunday three kids between the ages of 16 and 17 appeared to be looking at cars parked on North Main Street for the purpose of breaking inside. Police found the kids on Pittsburgh Street and there were no problems.

– A woman reported at 10:51 p.m. Sunday someone hit a deer on state Route 14 near the Links at Firestone Farms. Police checked but did not see the crash.

East Palestine

– Police were called to a report of an altercation on West Martin Street at 12:36 a.m. Monday. No charges were filed.

– Police check the area of East Clark and East Martin streets at 1:35 p.m. Tuesday for a dog running loose there the last few days. The dog was not located.

– Police were called to find an unruly high school student who had walked out of the building on West Grant street around 8:30 a.m. Friday after they were caught with tobacco. The student was cited for underage tobacco possession and the case was referred to juvenile court.

East Liverpool

– Responding at 8:53 a.m. Monday to a report of a vehicle broken into on Pennsylvania Avenue, an officer spoke with Dorothy M. Maple, 50, no address listed, who said someone had smashed the driver’s side window of her vehicle and taken her purse. A witness reported seeing a man police said is known for breaking into cars in a garage in Moose Alley about 10 minutes previously. The officer searched the entire area, including trash cans and notified local businesses about stolen checks and credit cards in the purse, and employees at A-1 Drive-Through reported the man witnesses had seen in the garage had been trying to use a credit card but had been denied because it did not belong to him. They were uncertain the name on the card, police reported. Soon after, A-1 employees called to report several cards were found outside their door belonging to Maple, including credit cards, her library card and more. The officer located the man in question in an alley and asked him if he had any of the stolen property. The man consented to a search and had a blue pill and some lollipops in a Crown Royal bag but denied theft of the purse. He was released pending further investigation. The officer went back to the garage where the man had been seen and found a piece of broken glass from Maple’s vehicle window, change on the ground and her missing purse was in the rafters, with two of her cards found in the corner of the garage. She also reported a blue pill was missing, and lollipops were found inside her purse. A warrant was issued for Trevel Thompkins, who was located in his bedroom on Saint George Street. When officers arrived, he reportedly grabbed a small plastic bag with suspected drugs inside. The contents will be sent for testing. Thompkins will be charged with theft and criminal damaging, according to police.

Salem

– Police responded to a panic alarm at 2:49 p.m. Monday on East Seventh Street, finding a resident needing assistance.

– James Ling, 33, of Southeast Boulevard, was cited for assured clear distance after his southbound vehicle on North Lincoln Avenue struck the rear bumper of another southbound vehicle driven by William Kostal, 76, of Orchard Bend Drive, at 12:47 p.m. Monday.

– William Mamounis Jr., 39, of Kent, was cited for speeding and driving under suspension after a traffic stop at 5:35 p.m. Sunday in the 2500 block of East State Street.

– A deputy was called to 47227 Riffle Road, Negley, at 12:19 a.m. Saturday for a report of a burglary in progress. The homeowner, Crystal Thompson, said she heard a louse noise and her dogs began barking. The deputy checked the home and found a large rock had been thrown through the glass sliding doors in the basement.

– A deputy was called to 49921 Taylor Road, Negley, at 9:24 p.m. Friday for suspicious activity in the area of the Rogers Sale. No one was found there.

– Wilma Wycoff, Sprucevale Road, Rogers, reported at 6:20 p.m. Saturday she is in the process of evicting her tenant, Jess Fuller, who she said has not paid rent for three months. Wycoff also reported there was extensive damage to the trailer and a bench was missing. A deputy told Wycoff the matter was civil and she could contact an attorney.

– A deputy was called to the Sparkle Market in Lisbon at 6:21 p.m. Saturday for an intoxicated woman. Lisa Odey told the deputy she had not been drinking but had taken prescription medication for anxiety. Odey was found unfit to drive and given a ride to her Lisbon home.

Columbiana

– Timothy Noling, 53, Columbiana, was cited for red light violation and possession of marijuana after a traffic stop on Main near Fifth at 9 a.m. Saturday.

– A woman reported at 10:58 a.m. Saturday a raccoon in the area of Main appeared to be sick and she was worried it would bite someone. Police checked the area but did not find the animal.

– Jonathan Wiery, Fairfield Avenue, reported at 1 p.m. Saturday he was having prob-lems with his ex-girlfriend giving him their child for visitation. It was resolved.

– Richard Wentz, Henderson Avenue, reported Saturday a moving company came to his home and caused ruts and other damage to his neighbor’s yard.

– A Fairfield Avenue woman reported at 6:13 p.m. Saturday her 1-year-old child had possibly been abused.

– Police helped search for a dog at large Saturday afternoon in the 2300 block of East Pershing. The dog was not found.

– A station wagon was seen speeding up and down the alley between the bingo and convenience store on South Lincoln at about midnight Saturday.

– Kids found on Eastview at about 4 a.m. Sunday were released to their father.

– Police responded to the 100 block of South Union at 10:48 p.m. Saturday to assist the county coroner with a notification.

– A large amount of glass was in the roadway in the area of Pershing and Lundy at 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Firefighters responded to sweep the area.

– Police responded to the 400 block of West Pershing Street at 7:58 p.m. Saturday for a report of a suspicious odor and spoke to a man who was advised of laws regarding illegal substances. Police did not smell anything.

– At 6:23 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 300 block of W. 16th Street where the residence was vacant and unsecured. Neighbors reported a door had been opened and they attempted to make contact. There was no answer but a foul odor was detected and it was discovered the prior resident had moved out and left a pet cat behind which apparently died from lack of proper care. Information was gathered for possible charges of neglect.

– Police responded to Aetna and Franklin at 5:38 p.m. Saturday for a dog at large. The dog, which has eluded several attempts to catch it, did it again.

-Nicholas J. Voigt, 19, Carmel Achor Road, Rogers, was cited for failure to control after wrecking on Carmel Achor at 9 p.m. Thursday. He was taken to St. Elizabeth’s with non-life-threatening injuries.

– Vernon Powell, Elkton Road, Lisbon, reported at 12:39 p.m. Friday he received a bill of $280 from DirecTV for services that were not used by him.

– Nancy Pfaff, Buck Road, Beloit, reported at 12:30 p.m. Friday her sister Carol Cameron was having a yard sale at their mother’s house on Buck Road and while Carol was outside Pfaff’s ex-boyfriend of 12 years, Mike Beverly, showed up at the sale and Carol told her he was taking pictures of the items that were for sale and a vehicle she had a for sale. Carol told Beverly to leave, at which point he then took a picture of her. Pfaff told a deputy she was in a legal battle with Beverly and was concerned about his intentions.

– Darlene Cope, Lisbon, reported at 10:20 a.m. Saturday her father, James Schaeffer, received a threatening phone call on his cell phone from an unknown man threatening to come find him and “get him.”

– A woman reported at 1:59 p.m. Friday a car was in the field by Dollar General on Rose Drive and two men were standing nearby and one was on his phone. Police spoke with Virgil Bowman, who said he was turning around by the side of the building and went off the pavement. The Dollar General manager was told about the accident.

– Dan Malott, Darner Road, reported at 3:16 p.m. Friday a utility pole on his property fell down. The fire department was notified.

– Jenette Mikious reported at 8:17 a.m. Friday a man was repeatedly parking in the Home Health Care parking lot on North Market and walking over to his home nearby. Mikious said the man has been told to move his vehicle and he continues parking there. Police went to the home and told the man he was not allowed to park there.

Columbiana

– An East Park Street woman reported at 12:46 a.m. Thursday Danielle Walters was trespassing on her property. Police checked the area but did not find Walters.

– A junk motor vehicle notice was sent to James McBride, North Pearl Street, at 8:15 a.m. Thursday.’

– The owner of Wayside Structures reported at 9:40 a.m. Thursday a pop machine in front of the business was vandalized.

– Amanda L. Rubin, 34, Kings Ridge Road, East Liverpool, was northbound on South Elm Street at 12:53 p.m. Thursday and disobeyed the stop sign at the East Park intersection and was struck by Duane E. Holloway, 53, Wampum, Pa., who was eastbound on Park. Rubin was cited for traffic control devices.

– Paula Ray, address not listed, reported at 6:46 p.m. Thursday she was receiving unwanted phone messages.

– A man reported at 8:59 p.m. Thursday there was loud music coming from a Howard Street home and it was keeping him awake. Police checked the area but did not hear any loud music.

– Joseph Andrew Long, 38, East Palestine, was arrested on a warrant following a traffic stop near the Oakmont Plaza at 10:35 p.m. Thursday.

– A man reported at 9:12 a.m. Friday he could hear a man and woman screaming at each other at a North Main home. Police went to the home and found the argument was verbal only and no charges were filed.

– A woman reported at 2:11 p.m. Friday there was a line down on state Route 14 and she didn’t know what kind of line it was. Utility workers and the fire department responded to the area to check the line.

– A man reported at 5:14 p.m. Friday that while walking on West Salem Street he noticed a tan car that went left of center southbound toward the traffic circle. Police checked the area but did not see the vehicle.

– East Palestine police and the highway patrol reported at 6:55 p.m. Friday they received reports of a white vehicle northbound on state Route 7 that went left of center and was all over the road. Police found the vehicle and spoke with the driver who said her windshield wipers were not working properly. She was told to pull into the Tic-Toc parking lot until the rain stopped or have her wipers repaired.

– A woman reported at 10:59 p.m. Friday a man wearing a black coat and camouflage pants was on the railroad tracks at Fairfield Avenue jumped off shortly before the train came, but then got back onto the tracks. Police spoke with the 29-year-old Fairfield Avenue man and he was taken by EMS to an area hospital for a mental evaluation.

– A woman reported at 11:20 p.m. Friday a car with its lights on was at the dead end of Hawkins Lane. Police found Dustin Daugherty had stopped there and he was told to move along.

Salem

– At 4:03 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the intersection of Third and Lincoln where a woman said a man assaulted her in her vehicle. She had visible injuries and photos were taken. Both were intoxicated and the woman wanted to pursue charges.

– At 6:42 p.m. Friday, a man from Australia was on station concerning the location of his children and questioning why they weren’t in school. After a long discussion he was given several options with the ongoing custody dispute. Eleven minutes later, police responded to the 500 block of West Eighth and were advised of a custody dispute and the man didn’t believe his children had been to school in a few days. Police ran a check on the person and everything appeared to be OK.

– At 12:10 p.m. Friday, a landlord in the 300 block of West Eighth said the tenant recently moved and he found copper plumbing had been taken.

County Sheriff

– Kevin Ferguson, 10th Street Extension, Wellsville, called in regard to a property dispute at 10:34 a.m. Thursday. Deputies met with Dave Long, who said he was having two trees cut down on his property and the people he hired drove across his neighbor’s property. The deputy observed the tire tracks, but no ruts were left. Long said the man would be back to retrieve whatever debris there was in the yard.

– Patrick Reynolds, Salmar Drive, Salem, reported a domestic dispute at 8:27 p.m. Thursday. The deputy spoke to the couple supposedly involved and they said they shoved each other while arguing, and neither wished to press charges.

Lisbon

– Tim Wamsley reported Thursday said Scott Rudder took photos of the house where he is staying and sent them to someone named Al. Wamsley said he has a protection order against Rudder.

Salem

– A large object was reported in the northbound lane of North Howard Avenue in the 500 block at 2:28 a.m. Friday. Police arrived and removed a large rock from the street.

– A juvenile who was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for speeding at 1:39 a.m. Friday in the 1900 block of North Ellsworth Avenue was taken into custody for an unruly offense, processed and turned over to his grandmother.

– Police were dispatched to Burger King, 1761 E. State St., at 12:46 a.m. Friday for a report of loitering. Employees were attempting to leave the business after closing, but were not allowed if people were still in the parking lot. Officers responded and vehicles were leaving.

– An audible alarm was reported at 8:45 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of South Broadway Avenue. The exterior was found secure.

– A resident in the 800 block of Aetna Street who had reported a burglary earlier called police at 10:42 p.m. Thursday to report finding a bicycle in his yard that did not belong to him. Police removed the bicycle. The man had first called at 8:06 p.m. to report several items taken from his home. Officers advised him some of the property was recovered earlier in the day. A neighbor told police two males were taking items from the residence and provided officers with a license plate for a vehicle. A caller at 7:14 p.m. had called police to the corner of Franklin and Aetna where a suspicious object was hidden on bushes. Officers collected the object and got a description of the person who placed the item in the bushes. The burglary is under investigation.

– A man in the 400 block of South Union Avenue called at 7:07 p.m. Thursday to speak with an officer about receiving unwanted phone calls. He said a man unknown to him threatened him and his fiance with physical harm. He was told his options.

– A possible domestic dispute was reported at 4:08 p.m. Thursday in the 2500 block of East State Street. A man reported seeing a male and female arguing while walking in the street. He also said the female stepped into traffic and was nearly struck by a vehicle. They could not be found.

Leetonia

-Columbiana Police contacted Leetonia Police at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday regarding a crash that allegedly happened near the Dairy Queen on Columbia Street. Both parties ended up in Columbiana where one of them was arrested for OVI.

– The mother of a 13-year-old girl called at 6:02 p.m. Wednesday to report her daughter was missing and she couldn’t find her. At the same time, it was learned that two other juveniles, ages 6 years old and 8 years old , were also missing. Police learned they were in the woods east of Cherry Street. All three juveniles live in the Somer Street area and returned home with no foul play involved.

– Police were called at 6:01 p.m. Tuesday to a residence in the 300 block of Walnut Street for a welfare check.

– At 10:44 a.m. Monday, a junk Pontiac motor vehicle was towed off of Pine Street and taken to the impound lot at the request of the Leetonia Police.

– A parking complaint was filed at 7:47 p.m. March 27 in the 200 block of Main Street.

– A domestic dispute was reported at 6:13 p.m. March 27 in the 200 block of Ridge Street.

– Alisha Travis, Darner Road, Elkrun Township, reported Wednesday a male she knows had taken her washer and dryer. Alisha Hoberek said the items belonged to her and she had already made arrangements for her boyfriend and his brother to get them.

– Gretchen Baldwin, Hillcrest Road, Wellsville, reported Wednesday her neighbor’s dogs come onto her property threatening her dogs and her daughter. Bald-win said she has tried to speak with her neighbor, but to no avail. She has also contacted the county dog warden.

Lisbon

– Mr. and Mrs. Richard Grunden, West Washington Street, reported arriving home at 12:17 a.m. Thursday to discover their home had been ransacked and that their son and dog were gone. While checking the residence, their son and dog came home, and Mr. Grunden said there was nothing wrong and chalked it up to an April Fool’s joke.

– James Harter, North Market Street, reported Wednesday $59 was taken from his bank account.

– Elana Brownfield, Saltwell Road, reported Tuesday her son’s iPhone was stolen from gym class that day and the phone’s GPS indicated it was in a wooded area of Brookfield Avenue but was on the move. Police went to the trailer where the phone was supposedly located and the woman who answered the door said her son was not in school that day but he and a friend were in the back room. The boys were summoned and the one who was visiting handed over the phone. They took the boy home and advised his mother of what had happened. The boy, who claimed to have found the phone in his bag after school, was charged.

– Police were called to a home on West Lincoln Way at 10:26 a.m. Wednesday after a teenage girl blacked out and fell down some steps. The girl was alert by then but police stood by until am ambulance crew arrived to take her to a local hospital.

-A caller reported there was a lot of yelling going on at a South Lincoln home at 12:26 p.m. Wednesday. Police were told upon arrival that nothing happened and everything was fine.

– Ashley Conkle, Lee Avenue, reported Tuesday she believes her ex-boyfriend stole her kitten while she was at work because he still has a key to her house. The house appeared to be in disarray and Conkle was advised to contact her landlord about changing the locks.

Columbiana

– A cemetery employee reported at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday someone drove a vehicle over a curb. Mary Stockdale, who was transport-ed from the scene and a relative was called to pick up the vehicle.

– Justin Perkins, Fairfield School Road, reported at 1:16 p.m. Wednesday his brother punched him and he wanted to file charges.

– Several Court Street residents reported at 1:28 p.m. Wednesday people were soliciting there without permits. Police found James Rupple of Canton, Christopher Dandrea of East Liverpool and Michael Lueck of Akron, all working for the Ohio Restoration Group, and warned them for soliciting without permits.

– Police issued solicitors permits to Joseph Taormina and William Pisciuneri of Comcast at 1:38 p.m. Wednesday.

– A woman reported at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday there appeared to be a heated argument behind the house on the corner of West Salem Street near Huntington Bank. Police found Cody Arkwright and Kristina Foster were arguing and no charges filed.

– A man reported at 5 p.m. Wednesday there was a black Chevy Cruz in the 120 block of East Woodland Avenue that was facing the wrong way and had been there for a while. Police checked the area but did not find the vehicle.

– Tony Yohn, Lucretia Lane, reported identity theft at 6:38 p.m. Wednesday.

– A woman reported at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday someone was burning leaves and other things in the area of East Woodland Avenue and it was creating a lot of smoke. Police went to the area and told the homeowners of the open burning laws and the fire was put out.

– A woman reported at 7:17 p.m. Wednesday a dog was barking at 822 Fairfield Ave. The owner said a dog was also barking at 819 Fairfield Ave. Police went to the home but could not make contact with any residents.

– A woman reported at 8:21 p.m. Wednesday her son was driving on state Route 344 from Leetonia and a truck was chasing him and struck him at one point.

– Gretchen Weyand reported at 10:44 p.m. Wednesday her vehicle was damaged while she was at work at Parkside.

– Ronald Steele, address not listed, reported at 11:56 p.m. Wednesday he came into town and saw three kids cross the street and one jumped the fence toward Compco Industries. Police checked but did not find the kids.

Salem

– Kayla Marcum, 21, of 146 N. Madison Ave., was charged with OVI after a traffic stop at 4:12 a.m. Thursday in the 900 block of East Third.

– A North Lincoln Avenue reported at 12:51 a.m. Thursday her son borrowed $40 and was supposed to pay her back by the evening. She went to get the money and her son just waved at her from the window. She wanted a report for small claims court.

– Sean Leon, 40, of 5258 Salem Unity Road, was taken into custody on a county warrant for failure to appear on a driving under suspension charge after a traffic stop at 8:48 p.m. Wednesday on East Pershing.

– Police responded at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday to the SRMC emergency room. A man there said someone slashed his forearm with a folding knife on South Howard. The man, who needed stitches, said he didn’t know the person and didn’t want to pursue the matter.

– Jacklyn Welke, 26, of Votaw Drive, Lisbon, was cited for assured clear distance after her she rear-ended a vehicle driven by Ashley Jackson, 30, of South Lincoln Avenue, Lisbon, on South Lincoln at 6:05 p.m. Wednesday. Both had been stopped in traffic and started to proceed when Jackson had to brake for traffic stopping ahead and Welke failed to notice.

– Lorenalynn Delp, 30, of Sharon Lynn Drive, was cited for driving under suspension after a traffic stop at 6:57 a.m. Wednesday on Lincoln.

Goshen Police District

– Bryce M. Halverson, 20, Poland, was cited for failure to control following after wrecking on state Route 165 in Green Township at 10:01 p.m. March 24.

– A Stratton Road resident reported March 26 she received fraudulent emails claiming to be from Trans-Union saying she needed to log in to check her credit report.

– Police responded to an Oak Street, Beloit, home at 2:48 a.m. March 28 for a report of gunfire. Shell casings were found at the home, but officers could not make contact with the residents.

Steubenville

Jody L. Petros, 43, East Liverpool, was cited for driving with suspended license and loud exhaust by Steubenville police Wednesday.

Lisbon

– The fire department responded to a brush fire behind the Guilford Highlands mobile home park off Depot Road at 3:08 p.m. Wednesday. Chief David Lewton said the fire burned two acres of grass and is believed to have been started by some youths who were playing around in the area.

– Sue Sasic, Carmel Achor Road, Rogers, reported at 10:24 a.m. Wednesday metal shelving was taken from her yard.

– Marlaina Ketchum, Crawford Road, Wellsville, reported at 9:33 a.m. Wednesday she was being harassed by her ex-boyfriend Brad Owens, and he had followed her through Wellsville yelling and cussing at her and at one point was pounding on her car.

– Earl Corey, Lower Elkton Road, Leetonia, reported at 1:38 p.m. Tuesday his wife was receiving harassing phone calls from a woman they know.

– Brenda Goss, Myway Lane, New Waterford, reported at 3:29 p.m. Tuesday she received a notice from the post office that two of her letters were found opened in a mailbox on Hawkins Road, and she was concerned because the letters contained tax information that listed her son’s social security numbers.

Highway Patrol

– Gary A. Clark, 62, Laird Road, Malvern, was westbound on Darlington Road in Middleton Township at 10:25 a.m. Monday when his tractor-trailer overturned while going around a bend. He was cited for failure to control and taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

– Scott A. Bailey, 26, Shadylane, East Liverpool, was southbound on state Route 45 in Center Township at 5:48 a.m. Tuesday and went off the right side into a ditch. He was cited for failure to control.

Lisbon

– Ralph Temple, 44, North Market Street, was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign at the intersection of Pine and Beaver streets at 8:07 a.m. Thursday, resulting in a collision with a vehicle driven by Elizabeth Gallo, 64, North Street. Temple was transported by ambulance to a local hospital after complaining about neck and back pain.

– A resident of Sherman Street reported Friday finding drug paraphernalia in the house.

Virgil Garretson, North Jefferson Street, reported Monday someone he knows stole his .380-caliber handgun and $145. Garretson called back to say the person said he would return the handgun in exchange for Garrettson not filing charges. The officer told Garrettson he could tell the man to return the gun but police still intend to file charges.

East Palestine

– Lindsay K. Wollet, Poland, reported at 11:32 a.m. Tuesday one of her credit cards for a department store was stolen, possibly while she was working at the high school on West Grant Street.

– Police were called to the Marathon gas station on North Market Street at 8:51 a.m. Sunday for a woman harassing customers and barring access to the store. Police told the woman, identified as Amy Mathey, to leave the property and served her with a trespass notice.

Columbiana

– A Columbiana Buick Oldsmobile employee reported theft of vehicle parts at 9:55 a.m. Tuesday.

– Roger Gaskins, North Elm Street, reported at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday his wife was outside the house “going crazy” and he was not going to let her inside. Police went to the home and stood by while Amanda Frost retrieved some of her belongings.

An 84-year-old man was taken by EMS to an area hospital after he became unresponsive while at Prima Health Care on state Route 7.

– Jereld M. Remish, Columbiana, backed into a vehicle driven by a Salem juvenile while at the Circle K parking lot at 8:50 p.m. Tuesday. No citations were issued due to being on private property.

East Liverpool

– While working extra duty at Westgate Middle School March 20, an officer responded to a report and found teacher Maurice Brown speaking to a 13-year-old student. The student reportedly had assaulted teacher Valerie L. Irwin, 51, who said she had heard a commotion from the hall and went to investigate. She reported seeing the juvenile and another teacher in the hallway. When Irwin asked what the problem was, the boy rushed her, slamming into Irwin with his body, pushing her into the door, then running toward the stairwell. Irwin told police there have been many other incidents with this student. On Friday, the same officer was approached by teacher Megan Gearhart, 25, who said the same boy had done the same thing to her the previous day, charging at her and slamming her into the wall.

– A vehicle owned by Brandon M. Mattern, 24, Smithfield Street, was sideswiped by an unknown vehicle, damaging his mirror.

– Ruth Adkins, 71, Lisbon Street, was northbound on St. Clair Avenue when her vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Gregory J. Golding, 21, Bradshaw Avenue, who had looked down at his gas gauge, according to reports.

– While parked outside her home, a vehicle owned by Brenda Stephens, Rural Lane, was struck by an unknown vehicle, causing damage to the door.

Liverpool Township

– Officers were called to a home on Windsor Drive for possible underage drinking taking place. The three people present were all over the age of 21, and the officer had their designated driver move two vehicles that were parked along the street into the driveway.

– Ryan Adkins, Densmore Avenue, reported his license plates missing from his vehicle.

– Christopher Craft, 21, of 1610 Maple Ave., Wellsville, was taken into custody at 3:08 p.m. Wednesday after coming to the police station in regard to an investigation. Police found a warrant for his arrest from East Liverpool Muncipal Court for possession of marijuana.

– Police were dispatched to Giant Eagle at 2:02 p.m. Wednesday for two people at the store trying to pass counterfeit checks. They said the checks were issued to them for work they had done cleaning at houses, with the issuer out of Cleveland. They agreed to go to the police station for an interview about the ongoing investigation.

– Douglas Pridemore, 45, last known address was East Third Street, was charged with obstruction of official business for allegedly lying to officers searching for a juvenile at a Woodland Avenue residence. Police responded to the residence at 1:49 p.m. Wednesday to assist Children Services with removing two juveniles from the home. The girl was at the residence, but her brother was not. Pridemore told officers the boy had left with a blue backpack. As officers were preparing to leave, the boy came outside and said he had been hiding in the basement. The 16-year-old boy was taken to the Tobin detention center. After Pridemore was arrested he said he didn’t feel good and was taken to SRMC.

– Samson Aaron Crowl, 30, of 633 Cherry St., was taken into custody at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at his residence on a warrant.

– A resident in the 600 block of Washington Avenue reported a sick opossum in her back yard at 12:23 p.m. Wednesday. The humane officer was contacted and removed the animal.

– Police were flagged down at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday by an unknown man who said a dog was hit by a vehicle in the 900 block of South Lincoln Avenue. The dog was found to be in distress. The owner was located and took the dog back inside and said he would contact his vet.

– Joshua Kholos, 18, of Jennings Avenue, was cited for failure to yield after he pulled onto Lundy from Second and hit a vehicle driven by Shelby Blakeman, 61, of Beechwood Road. The crash occurred at 6:22 p.m. Tuesday.

– A Mound Street man reported Tuesday a fraudulent tax return filed in his name.

– A man from Buckeye Avenue reported fraudulent charges on his bank account.

Perry Township

– John Keener, 33, of Merle Road, Salem, hit a deer at 9:34 p.m. Tuesday on state Route 344 at Chestnut Grove Road.

– Police responded at 1:42 p.m. Monday to the South Lincoln railroad tracks for a complaint that the signals were malfunctioning. Norfolk Southern was contacted.

– Mike Myers, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported Tuesday he filed his tax return only to learn one had already been filed in his name and using his Social Security number. Myers contacted the IRS .

– Shirley Wells, Bayard Road, Minerva, reported Sunday George Bitgood has been harassing her by phone. A deputy contacted Bitgood, who was told he could be charged if this continues.

– Gary Ronhausen, state Route 558, Columbiana, reported Monday someone entered his barn and stole two socket sets.

– Tracy Mattern, Bye Road, East Palestine, reported Sunday she wanted her 21-year-old son removed from the residence, but she was told it is his residence too and she would need to evict him. On Monday, Jeffrey Mattern was locked out of the house. A deputy spoke with Ms. Mattern and she unlocked the door.

– Michelle Lowe, Taylor Road, Negley, called about a property line dispute with a neighbor at 2:13 p.m. Monday. The parties were told this was a civil dispute and they needed to contact an attorney.

Highway Patrol

– Shauna L. Woolf, 36, Salem-Alliance Road, Salem, and Nathan Ryan Chestnut, 18, Bethesda Road, Hanoverton, were on U.S. 62 in Knox Township at 5:15 p.m. Monday and Chestnut attempted to merge into the left lane and struck Woolf. Chestnut was cited for rules for driving in marked lanes.

– William R. Yeager, 82, Depot Road, Salem, was westbound on Salem Grange Road in Salem Township at 8:40 p.m. Sunday and was struck by Steven M. Fox, 25, South Lincoln Avenue, Salem, who was northbound on state Route 45 through the intersection. Yeager then went off the right side into a stop sign. Yeager was cited for right of way.

– Arec Wallace Burman, 18, Crowl Street, Minerva, was westbound on Quaker Church Road in West Township at 8:26 p.m. Sunday and went off the left side into a ditch. He was cited for failure to control.

– Carl Robert Conkle, 60, Clarkson Road, Rogers, was northeastbound on Pancake Clarkson Road in Middleton Township at 7:15 a.m. Sunday and hit a deer then went off the south side and overturned.

– Mark Beresford, 58, Speidel Road, East Rochester, was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign after hitting a vehicle driven by Tracy A. Davies, 39, North Canton, at the intersection of George-town and Knox School roads at 6 p.m. Friday. Davies was taken to the Alliance hospital.

– Katlyn J. Diddle, 21, Gardendale, East Liverpool, was cited for failure to control after wrecking on Cameron Road in Madison Township at 11:50 a.m. Sunday.

– Donnel Bradford, 29, Rose Drive, Lisbon, was cited for failure to control after wrecking on Route 45 in Salem Township at 8:45 p.m. Friday.

– Skylar Edward Devore, 18, Route 154, Lisbon lost a tire while driving on Route 45 in Salem Township at 5:45 p.m. Friday and it hit a vehicle driven by Chastity N. Singer, 29, state Route 517, Lisbon.

– Troopers are looking for the driver of a vehicle that hit a pole on Metz Road in Fairfield Township at 10:30 a.m. Friday.

Lisbon

– Kim Pirchner, West Chestnut reported at 10 a.m. Monday a blue van with a dealership plate had been parked outside the apartment building for some time. Police called the company and they contacted their employee, who said he had a bad back but would move the van.

– Sandra L. Copestick, West Lincoln Way, was backing up at Valley View and hit as parked SUV belonging to Jacqueline L. Horvath, Roll-er Coaster Road, Monday.

– Eric Guappone called at 3:27 p.m. March 20 to say he hit a vehicle near the former Dorrance building but was unable to locate the owner. Police identified her as Sara K. Graham, West Lincoln Way.

Salem

– Ohio Edison was called after a downed power line was found at Ellsworth and 10th at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

– A woman Monday reported receiving threaten-ing texts from her ex-boyfriend’s girlfriend. The girlfriend said she is the one getting threatening texts. Both were told to quit it.

– A woman was reported begging outside Giant Eagle Monday evening. She was described as roughly 40 with a smaller build.

Wellsville

– A Main Street man Monday saw someone go into his neighbor’s garage and try to remove the microwave. The suspect was described as white with a stocky build, driving a white short-bed pickup.

– Two 64-ounce Gatorade bottles filled with about $400 in change was stolen from a woman’s Cedar Street home sometime between March 15-21. A third bottle filled with pennies was left behind.

– A woman Friday forgot to put her van in park at Rich Oil and it drifted and hit a pole.

– A Maple Avenue woman had a dispute with her 18-year-old son. She does not want him living there anymore, so he left.

– Police stood by last week as a man removed his belongings from his ex-girlfriend’s Riverside home.

Columbiana

– Don Brady, address not listed, reported a license plate stolen at 2:49 p.m. Monday.

– Police contacted Gallagher Realty at 7:30 p.m. Monday after finding a broken window at a home for sale on South Main Street.
