Columbiana seeking member for zoning appeals board

COLUMBIANA — The city is looking for a new member to serve on the Board of Zoning Appeals. City Manager Lance Willard said the vacant seat is the result of the resignation of Jack Sutherin, whose term does not expire until the end of 2027. The city is taking letters of interest through Sept. 10. Willard took time during the most recent City Council meeting to praise the community for their involvement with the city. Participants still sought for East Palestine health study

EAST PALESTINE — Participants are still being sought for a health study conducted by the University of Kentucky. Erin Haynes, who serves as Principal Investigator of the East Palestine Train Derailment Health Research Program, visited Village Council in recent weeks to go over the program. Led by the University of Kentucky with partners at the University of Pittsburgh and Yale University the study exists to answer the health and water questions the community has been asking since February 2023, the team said.
