Stormy 2026 fair ends with injuries, medical emergencies

LISBON — The Columbiana County Fair ended Sunday with two people injured in the pit area during the demolition derby after tumultuous stormy weather conditions all week caused the cancellation of several grandstand shows due to unsafe track conditions. According to county Fair Board President John Wolf, a juvenile in the pit area was injured by a derby contestant’s car. He didn’t have any information on the injured juvenile’s condition, saying Monday they were waiting to hear. Main Street closure still a source of frustration for Wellsville residents

WELLSVILLE — The continued closure of Main Street in downtown Wellsville five months after the collapse of the Five and 10 building located at 447-449 Main is leaving residents and local business owners frustrated. The 400 block of Main Street was closed by order of Fire Chief Barry Podwel after the collapse for safety reasons, with concerns that the remaining portion of the building could fall.
