Lisbon teens return to council with information about possible skate park

LISBON — The Lisbon teens who want a skate park in Lisbon returned to the village council meeting this week armed with more information, including the size of the village-owned property for the site. Brody McCreight, the teen spokesman for the group, said the property at the end of South Jefferson Street measures 100 feet by 80 feet. He said he also spoke with representatives of D.W. Dickey to check on the concrete costs and a possible donation of some concrete. He estimated the cost for the entire project as $40,000. Canfield Fair Board says no hard alcohol will be sold at fair

CANFIELD (WKBN) — The Canfield Fair Board posted an open letter to the community Tuesday regarding the future of alcohol service at the fairgrounds. The board announced its plan in May to serve alcohol during this year’s fair after voters approved a ballot measure allowing the precinct to go from dry to wet. Highway Patrol — Orbai B. Dumbuya, 31, Akron, was cited for assured clear distance and driving under suspension after his northwestbound vehicle on state Route 14 in Unity Township struck a northwestbound vehicle driven by Kayla Baker, 27, Moore Lane, East Palestine, who was stopped to make a left turn at 7:57 p.m. June 16. Baker suffered suspected minor injuries, but wasn’t transported or treated at the scene.
