Goshen Twp. awards bid for Ohio Public Works Commission project

GOSHEN TOWNSHIP — Township trustees have awarded the bid for the their Ohio Public Works Commission project. Goshen Township received a total of seven bids for this year’s OPWC project, which will pave the section of Diagonal Road between Duck Creek and Middletown roads. In a special meeting Monday, trustees selected the bid from North Lima-based contractor R T Vernal Paving & Excavating for $164,975.50. R T Vernal was the lowest bidder. SCPD to host Calcutta Cars and Coffee Car Show

ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP — The St. Clair Township Police Department will be hosting the Calcutta Cars and Coffee Car Show to benefit Tim Hortons Camp Day. The car show, which will also features a Chinese Auction held inside the restaurant, will take place at Tim Horton’s, 15580 state Route 170, Calcutta, from 4 to 6 p.m. July 14. East Liverpool council president passes away

EAST LIVERPOOL — John Torma, East Liverpool City Council President, passed away on July 8 at the age of 72. Torma has served the East Liverpool community council president for more than 30 years. Council member John Mercer, who will serve as president pro-tem over the city council until a replacement is selected, plans to honor Torma’s memory with a moment of silence at the Aug. 3 council meeting.
