The Second Annual Idabelle Firestone Fine Art Exhibition and Sale
Saturday, Aug. 15 (Rain Date Aug. 22) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sponsored by Firestone Park Cultural and Custodial Committee
The Idabelle Firestone Gathering Place and Garden will again be the site for the second annual art show and sale. Dedicated to Mrs.Idabelle Firestone, whose support of the Arts and Gardens is well established and important to the legacy she brings to Firestone Park with the beautiful building and grounds on top of the hill across from the Firestone Pool.
We had a widely represented group of artists in last year's initial endeavor and are delighted to invite them back and add more participants. To give you an idea of the range of offerings I can personally cite what I bought for my home and for the Firestone Park Legacy Center last year.
Several paintings of the Gathering Place itself are now gracing the walls of the new Legacy Center, located right next to the main entrance of the park. Idabelle's Gathering Place is so beautifully designed by architect Paul Hagman, it is being referred to as our Taj Mahal!. With graceful columns, and stone facing it speaks to the importance of classic architecture, as well as elements of the Firestone Park's iconic pavilions.
It now has night lighting which brings its finest features to full glory.
Also purchased, as they were hard to resist, a painting of a young girl amidst all the magical things that the world has to offer the young, and a beautiful small table with a delicately designed surface which is, indeed, a work of art. Visitors will find a wide variety of offerings, from oils and watercolors, to furniture and photography pieces. Spend an hour browsing and buying pieces special to your tastes and decor. It is a wonderful excursion for a Saturday afternoon in Firestone Park! Please join us!
