Cow struck by vehicle in Columbiana County crash: OSHP

BUTLER TWP. (WKBN) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol was called to a crash where a cow was struck in the roadway Friday morning in Columbiana County. Troopers were called to state Route 9 near Mountz Road in Butler Township around 4:15 a.m. According to OSHP, two vehicles were involved in the crash. Troopers said one of the vehicles hit a cow in the roadway. Troopers did not disclose how the second vehicle was involved in the crash. Tow trucks removed both vehicles from the scene. OSHP said that the cow is now deceased. The roadway is now open.

Columbiana resident request two-animal maximum enforcement

COLUMBIANA — A Fairfield Avenue man asked the city to consider enforcing a two-animal maximum after getting fed up with the noise and unsanitary conditions of a neighboring home, which was later found to be housing more than 20 dogs. U.S. Route 30 closure for pavement rehabilitation

Starting Monday, U.S. Route 30 will close at the state Route 11/U.S. Route 30 interchange in West Point for 45 days. The closure includes the section of U.S. Route 30 from state Route 45 to the state Route 11 northbound on- and off-ramps. Additionally, the ramp from state Route 11 to U.S. Route 30 and the eastbound U.S. Route 30 ramp will close as part of this phase of the project.
