MUNICIPAL LISBON — A Columbiana County jail inmate who allegedly escaped from East Liverpool City Hospital and a man who allegedly lied to deputies about the ride he gave him both had their cases bound over to the county grand jury. Joseph R. Adams, 48, Holliday Street, East Liverpool, waived his preliminary hearing Wednesday in county Municipal Court for escape, a second-degree felony, and vandalism, a fifth-degree felony. ELKTON (WKBN) — A historic Columbiana County landmark is entering a new chapter. A barn along Route 154 in Elkton that dates back to the 1830s is under new ownership. Most people know the property as Lock 24, but now it’s called the 1830 Gathering Place. The building has seen many businesses come and go throughout the years. Wellsville council looks at cost to bury cremains

WELLSVILLE – Village council is considering added a cost to bury cremains in an occupied grave. Council members recently agreed to have an ordinance drafted that would charge $350 on top of the grave opening and closing costs to bury cremains in an occupied grave at Springhill Cemetery. Council member Mike Lombardozzi told council members that currently if someone wants to bury the cremains of a relative in the occupied grave of another relative, they are only charged the fee for opening and closing the grave. Man charged in ink pen attack found not guilty by reason of insanity

LISBON — A Washingtonville man found not guilty by reason of insanity in 2024 for felonious assault and other charges will remain on conditional release in the community. SHERIFF REPORTS — Deputies were dispatched at 11:19 p.m. Saturday to a Leslie Road address in Madison Township for a domestic, learning one party fled the scene prior to deputies arriving. While conducting the investigation, another person, Ryan E. Williams, 44, Leslie Road, Lisbon, was charged with obstructing official business for allegedly injecting himself into the investigation while he was a bystander at the scene. Commissioners approve property tax relief

LISBON — Columbiana County commissioners agreed Wednesday to give taxpayers who own and occupy their homes a break of 2.5 % on next year’s property tax bill. That’s on top of what state legislators recently approved to increase the owner occupancy credit. “It may not be a lot of relief, but it’s some relief,” Commissioner Tim Ginter said.
