Ramaswamy speaks with East Palestine residents, village officials

EAST PALESTINE — Republican candidate for Governor Vivek Ramaswamy made a quiet visit to East Palestine on Friday to speak with residents and village officials. Village Manager Antonio Diaz-Guy confirmed on Monday that Ramaswamy came to the village. LISBON — The jury trial in the aggravated murder case against Curtis D. Holland for the 2021 shooting of Brycen Douglas has been continued, with Holland hiring a new defense attorney. Holland, 30, Dewey Avenue, East Liverpool, appeared in the custody of deputies during a brief status hearing Monday in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court before Judge Scott Washam. Not guilty plea entered in vehicular manslaughter case

LISBON — A Rogers man entered a not guilty plea Monday to vehicular manslaughter in the 2025 death of 79-year-old Rebecca A. Myers of Lisbon in a crash. Donald K. Hollingshead, 31, Adams Road, appeared for arraignment in Columbiana County Municipal Court for the misdemeanor charge, indicating to the court that he’ll be representing himself. Perry Township trustees approve multiple purchases

PERRY TOWNSHIP — Trustees approved several purchases in its meeting Monday. The board of trustees voted unanimously to approve the purchase of 40 feet of 36-inch pipe from Marlboro Supply for $1,526 for storm repairs on Egypt Road, and the purchase of four new tires for the road department’s Ford F-550 dump truck from Salem Tire for $1,543.84.
