July events at the Beaver Creek Wildlife Education Center

EAST LIVERPOOL – Volunteers at the Beaver Creek Wildlife Education Center have announced their schedule of activities for July. All events are free of charge but donations are welcomed. Super Cruise closes out yearly event with record breaking attendance

SALEM (WKBN) — Salem’s annual Super Cruise wrapped up Sunday. The festivities ran from June 11-14, drawing in over 50,000 people to Salem, breaking last year’s record. 2 tornadoes confirmed in Columbiana County

(WKBN) — The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh toured damage in two areas on Monday following severe weather that rolled through the Valley on Sunday afternoon. Survey results concluded that three tornadoes touched down. Two of those tornadoes occurred in Columbiana County. One of these was in Salem, and the other formed later along the path closer to the Ohio/Pennsylvania border. Lisbon teens ask council to consider skate park

LISBON — Some Lisbon teens want a skate park in Lisbon and recently asked village council to consider the idea. Brody McCreight and his father Jeremy both addressed council and were accompanied by six other skateboarders during the meeting, with Brody saying it could be small with just a couple of ramps and other features. He also said this could bring a lot of business into town, explaining the closest skate park is in Alliance. Alliance is at least 24 miles from Lisbon. East Liverpool receives $2.2 million in loans for water and wastewater

EAST LIVERPOOL – The City of East Liverpool has been approved for two loans with a combined total of more than $2.2 million from the Ohio Development Authority which will go toward reviews and engineer plans to improve the city’s drinking and wastewater infrastructures. The first loan for $772,000 is for five years at 4.5% apr that will be used for the preliminary engineering report for the evaluation of alternatives to address the issues in the aging water system.
