HANOVERTON — A new grading scale is in place for United Local High School students for the new school year. The new scale is included in the student handbooks the board of education approved during the Aug. 15 meeting. The board originally approved going back to the 10-point grading scale earlier this year with it effective for high school students beginning this school year. As a result, an A grade is 90-100, B is 80-89, C is 70-79, and so forth. LEETONIA — The Leetonia Police Department is investigating an overdose on Columbia Street. Police Chief Allen Haueter said that the department responded to a report of an unresponsive woman in the 300 block of Columbia Street at around 10 a.m. Thursday. Haueter confirmed that a 46-year-old woman was dead of from an overdose but said he could not disclose the victim’s name when contacted Friday afternoon.
