Salem council agrees to place parks renewal levy on November ballot

SALEM — Salem voters will be presented with the question of renewing the parks department’s 1.3-mill recreational levy. The city council voted unanimously Tuesday to place the renewal of the levy on the ballot in both Columbiana and Mahoning counties in the upcoming General Election on Nov. 3. New ordinance prohibits watercraft parking on Wellsville streets

WELLSVILLE — Following months of discussion and revisions of legislation, village council unanimously approved on third reading an ordinance that prohibits the parking and storage of boats, watercrafts and boat trailers on any village streets or public rights-of-way. LISBON — A new status hearing has been set at 1:15 p.m. Sept. 14 in the aggravated murder case against Curtis D. Holland, the man accused in the 2021 murder of Brycen Douglas. Holland, 30, Dewey Avenue, East Liverpool, appeared in the custody of deputies during a brief status hearing Thursday in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court before Judge Scott Washam.
