NEGLEY (WKBN) — A local business owner has been cleaning up much more than debris from Sunday’s storms. He instead found his property to be a muddy mess. Sewer system project in Hanoverton starting after contract awarded

LISBON — The project to help qualifying residents connect to the new sewer system in Hanoverton is finally starting after Columbiana County commissioners recently awarded the contract to Murphy Excavating LLC for $147,000. Murphy submitted the lone bid the second time around after the project was rebid this spring. East Liverpool to search options for winter salt purchase

EAST LIVERPOOL – East Liverpool will be searching for other options for winter salt. Safety Service Director Bill Jones informed council members during Monday’s meeting the city received notice of a significant price increase for road salt for the 2026-2027 winter season. Jones told council members that last year’s price under the State of Ohio Salt Purchasing Contract for the 2025-2026 season was $58 per ton. Driver ID’d in pedestrian fatal in Perry Township

SALEM — The driver involved in a fatal vehicle/pedestrian crash near the Salem Golf Club on state Route 45 on June 18 has been identified as Gage M. Palmer, 23, Steubenville, according to the recently issued Ohio State Highway Patrol report. Palmer was northbound on state Route 45 at 6:17 p.m. when his Oldsmobile 88 traveled off of the right side of the roadway, struck the pedestrian, then drove back onto the roadway to the right and struck a culvert. LIVERPOOL TOWNSHIP — The Liverpool Township Board of Trustees and Road Supervisor Chris Bosworth are requiring all vehicles to be parked off the road for the streets including in this year’s chip and seal program.
