BUTLER TWP. (WKBN) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol was called to a crash where a cow was struck in the roadway Friday morning in Columbiana County. Troopers were called to state Route 9 near Mountz Road in Butler Township around 4:15 a.m. According to OSHP, two vehicles were involved in the crash. Troopers said one of the vehicles hit a cow in the roadway. Troopers did not disclose how the second vehicle was involved in the crash. Tow trucks removed both vehicles from the scene. OSHP said that the cow is now deceased. The roadway is now open.
Hunston Road to close for bridge replacement Beginning Tuesday Hunston Road in Unity Township will be closed to all traffic between Main Street and state Route 558/Bacon Avenue for 150 days for a bridge replacement. Local access will be open either side of the bridge project. Follow the posted detour route at the bridge site. BOG Construction Inc. of Berlin Center will complete the $870,030 project with Ohio Department of Transportation, Ohio Public Works Commission and local funds.
