NORTH GEORGETOWN – The West Branch Area Ladies Ruritan Club met on July 20 for its monthly meeting and annual picnic at the North Georgetown Church of the Brethren. Members attending were Robin Mayer, Bev Yaggi, Jean Zion, Joann Pinkerton, and associate member Abby Elliott. Guests were Sandy and Duane Bates, Bob Pinkerton, Abigail Benner, Jeff and Mariana Benner - parents of Abigail - and Jackson Benner, Abigail’s brother. EAST LIVERPOOL — Columbiana Metropolitan Housing Authority officials Wednesday addressed concerns recently raised by the East Liverpool mayor. Rich Wymer, executive director, and Melissa Beadle, deputy director, addressed the concerns recently raised by East Liverpool Mayor Bobby Smith at the CMHA board meeting. Smith, who was not in attendance at the meeting, said he spoke with board member Dan Wolfe before the meeting and emailed Beadle to tell her that he is putting together a panel of people to meet and fix issues. County commissioners tout scrap tire drive at fairgrounds

LISBON — An Ohio Scrap Tire Collection Day will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Sept. 19 at the Columbiana County Fairgrounds. Free to residents, the scrap tire collection event is sponsored by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and the CCH Solid Waste District. Columbiana County Commissioner Tim Ginter made the announcement during Wednesday’s commissioners’ meeting, noting that it’s a good opportunity for residents to get rid of unwanted tires the right way.
