SALEM – With skin cancer ranking as the most common form of cancer in the U.S., early detection remains the most effective way to ensure successful treatment. During Skin Cancer Awareness Month this May, Board-Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon Linda Camp, M.D., FACS, will offer complimentary skin cancer screenings at SRMC Plastic Surgery in Columbiana.

Screenings will be provided by appointment only from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the following Thursdays: May 7, 14, 21, 28.

Exams consist of 10-minute sessions and will be limited to two lesions or areas of concern on the body. The screening cannot be used to replace an existing appointment at SRMC Plastic Surgery.

“Our goal is to catch potential cancers early, before they have a chance to spread,” Camp said. “Early detection opens the door to more effective treatments and significantly better outcomes for our patients.”

Appointments are required and can be scheduled by calling SRMC Plastic Surgery at 330-332-7383. The office is located at 400 Town Center Avenue, Suite 100, in the SRMC Surgery & Outpatient Pavilion at Firestone Farms TownCenter in Columbiana.
