EP Snowflake Festival set for Saturday

EAST PALESTINE — The annual Snowflake Festival in East Palestine is scheduled for Saturday. The Snowflake Festival is sponsored by the East Palestine Area Chamber of Commerce and this year’s annual festival has some added features as well as prior years’ favorites.

The day starts off with a pancake and sausage Breakfast with Santa by the East Palestine Rotary Club. The breakfast will be held at the Community Center at the Park from 9 to 11 a.m. and all ages are invited to attend. Bring a camera to take pictures with Santa.

Snowflake Headquarters located at the Village Municipal Building (85 N. Market St.) will open at 10 a.m. The chamber will again offer the popular Snowflake Trail/Scavenger Hunt. Stop in Snowflake Headquarters and pick up a scavenger hunt program and visit the stops along the Snowflake Trail. There are a lot of very nice prizes which have been donated by local businesses. Participants will need to bring your completed Snowflake Trail/Scavenger Hunt form back to Snowflake Headquarters before 4:15 p.m. to be eligible for a prize.

Santa’s Secret Workshop will be held in the East Palestine Elementary School Gym from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be a variety of vendors for Christmas shopping.

Stop in the Library from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to look at the beautifully crafted Gingerbread Houses that have been made by community members and vote for the favorite.

A large maze with blown in snow will be located downtown for everyone to enjoy. There is no charge to go through the maze.

A vendor and craft show was added this year where participants will find a variety of homemade crafts for their Christmas shopping. The vendor and craft show is located at 77 N. Market St.

Stop at Christmas Tree Lane where you will see beautifully decorated trees by organizations and businesses in the community. The Town & Country Garden Club will be at this location with a bake sale and a craft sale. The trees are on display Bea’s Insurance, 31 N. Market St.

Shop all day at local businesses which will be offering specials for the day. Getting hungry……take and break and grab some food at the various restaurants and food trucks throughout town.
