All summer decorations need to be removed from Woodsdale Cemetery by Nov. 25.
Wreaths Across America
Alliance City Cemetery, an official Wreaths Across America (WAA) location, will host its sixth wreath-laying ceremony, joining more than 4,900 other locations across the country for National Wreaths Across America Day, Dec. 13 beginning at noon at the cemetery’s Veterans’ Pavilion, 541 W. Vine St. The event is coordinated and led by local volunteers. Jane Bain NSDAR has raised funds throughout the year to sponsor the placement of over 1,400 veterans’ wreaths on the headstones of fallen service members laid to rest there. This annual event seeks to further the year-long mission to “Remember, Honor, Teach,” ensuring that the memory of those who served the country endures. National Wreaths Across America Day is a free community event open to all people. All volunteers are welcome.
Mount Union Concert Choir
The University of Mount Union Concert Choir and Cantus will perform during the 2025 Winter Festival, Dec. 4-6. The show, entitled “Out of the Darkness, Shining,” will be held in Brush Performance Hall in the Giese Center for the Performing Arts. Thursday’s performance begins at 11:15 a.m., and Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Doors will open 30 minutes before the show begins.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors/veterans and are available to order by visiting mountunion.edu/boxoffice, calling the box office at 330-821-2565 or ordering in-person at the box office, Monday through Friday, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. when classes are in session. Mount Union students, faculty and staff can redeem their free tickets when ordering by using their purple plus card. All other students are free, but tickets must be ordered by calling the box office or visiting during normal business hours.

Holiday blanket distribution
The Small Village Big Hearts Holiday Distribution Event is scheduled for Dec. 13 in Lisbon. The Lisbon Area Chamber of Commerce is committed to providing 175 blankets for children and adults. Monetary and blanket donations may be dropped off at the chamber office. Donations can also be dropped off at the Christmas Parade Dec. 6. Call 330-424-1803 for information.
East Liverpool trash collection
Trash is being collected from East Liverpool residences Thursday, Nov. 27 as the refuse and recycling department employees are scheduled to work on Thanksgiving Day. Residents whose trash is normally collected on Thursdays are asked to have their trash set out at the curb for pick up as usual. Trash service on any of the city routes will not be affected by the national holiday.
CWC Holiday Tea & Tour
Columbiana Women’s Club (CWC), a civic organization operating a century house on Main Street in historic Columbiana, will host its Holiday Tea & Tour 2025 on Saturday, Dec. 6 and Sunday, Dec. 7. Join the Columbiana Women’s Club anytime between 1 and 4 p.m. on either day for a self-guided tour of four area locations decked for the season. The tour includes the Columbiana Women’s Club’s century home at 121 N. Main St. where tea will be served at the following times only: Dec. 6 at 1 or 3 p.m., and Dec. 7 at 1 p.m. only. CWC Holiday Tea & Tour 2025 includes a self-guided tour and Afternoon Tea at preset seating times mentioned above. Cost is $25 per person cash or check only; make checks payable to Columbiana Women’s Club. RSVPs required by Nov. 30 at 330-482-2832. First UMC of Columbiana soup
First UMC of Columbiana will begin holding its Soup Sales in December. Pre-orders only. Soups available to order include chili, stuffed pepper, chicken noodle, vegetable, ham and bean, and potato. Cost is $9 per quart. The deadline for December pre-orders is Dec. 7 by calling 330-482-2382. Pick up at 210 Main St. will be on Dec. 11 between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m.
Cantina 70 donating turkeys
Lisbon Mayor Peter Wilson extended thanks to Cantina 70 Bar & Grill, located at 131 S. Market St, Lisbon, for donating 50 turkeys to families in need for Thanksgiving.
The turkeys will be distributed Monday from 11 a.m. to the first 50 people.
