Look Nook Gift Shop

SALEM –The Salem Regional Medical Center Look Nook Gift Shop will be carrying a variety of unique Fall and Halloween items from Charm House Decor now through Sept. 30.

Merchandise will be available for purchase from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m., Monday – Friday, with 20 percent of all sales going back to SRMC to support patient care.

Community shred event

LISBON — Lepper Library is hosting a community shred event from 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16.

Up to three paper-only bags or boxed will be accepted. Leave papers in vehicle trunk and drive to rear of library. Volunteers will remove and shred items.

‘Village Comes Alive’

EAST LIVERPOOL –This month’s “Village Comes Alive” from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Beaver Creek State Park will feature the popular annual cookbook tasting event.

The cookbook was published by the Friends of Beaver Creek State Park as a fundraiser for the monies needed to maintain, operate and improve Pioneer Village. Each year the members of the group prepare samples of many of the recipes contained in the book for the visiting public to taste. There is a wide variety of soups, salads, main courses, side dishes, entrees, desserts and more. There is no fee for tasting the samples. The cookbook itself will be available for purchase for $10.

All the historic buildings in Pioneer Village will be open and manned on Saturday. Everyone is invited to come see grain being stone ground in Gaston’s Mill as well as demonstrations in the blacksmith shop, quilting demonstrations, children’s activities in the schoolhouse and more. The trading post will also be available for the purchases. There is no admission charge for entrance to Pioneer Village.
