Ribbon cutting set for Saturday for Salvaged With Grace in Columbiana

COLUMBIANA – The place where antique and vintage finds meet in downtown Columbiana now will be known as Salvaged With Grace, according to one of the city’s newest businesswoman.

Herself an accomplished flipper and businesswoman from Mahoning County, Lisa Gray was one of the first calls that Steve and Irene Evans made when they decided to take a step back last year from owning the then-Park Avenue Marketplace.

Gray, who herself has had booths in many upscale vintage establishments, acquired the store in January from the Evans. A testament to Gray is that they and two of the store’s original owners, Dave and Ginny Perkins, continue to have vending space in Salvaged With Grace.

Gray explained, “We currently have 67 vendors, selling vintage and made market items.”

Throughout the store’s booths are collectible coins; clothing items like T-shirts; candles; hats; skin care items, like goat milk soaps and lotions; and jewelry.

During a tour, Gray even showed off a wall of familiar faces by artist Gene Brown, who comes to the store on Saturday to setup and paint portraits.

Throughout the 8,000 square-foot space, shoppers also can choose from a variety of different styles of furniture, including an antique doctor’s table in one booth, a four-chair dining room set in another or curios for sale scattered throughout the store.

Gray prides herself on stocking something for everyone, showing a large booth of toys in on area with possibly the largest Pokemon selection, she had been told.

Repurposed items, ranging from linens converted to fabric flowers or even safety deposit boxes that were made into desktop savings banks, can be found throughout Salvaged With Grace.

While Gray reveals that she doesn’t necessarily have a green thumb, several of her vendors do.

Beautifully arranged live plants are prevalent throughout the store, many for sale by same said vendors.

She couldn’t be more enthusiastic or complimentary of her Columbiana business experience overall. “Everyone has been welcoming. It is wonderful,” Gray concluded.

The Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a ribbon cutting for Salvaged With Grace’s ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19. The first 50 customers through the door will receive a swag bag.

Everyone through the door will be entered for the store’s hourly door prize drawings.
