Bulldog Bucks look to boost EP businesses

EAST PALESTINE — As the village walks the road to recovery in the wake of February’s Norfolk Southern train derailment, East Palestine businesses are bouncing back. The East Palestine Revitalization organization is helping with the Bulldog Bucks program and reminding the community that “you can’t keep a good dog down.”

The program, which is funded entirely by the nonprofit, will soon provide village residents with a voucher via postal mail. The $10 vouchers can be redeemed at any participating East Palestine business next week.

Organizers are hoping the $10 Bulldog Buck will catapult the coupon into additional local revenue and give shop owners a must-needed boost as the village steps out of the sigma of the derailment and back into the business of doing business.

According to eprivitalization.com, the vouchers “are as good as cash at over 25 local businesses and the intent behind Bulldog Bucks is to “distribute the financial resources available through East Palestine Revitalization yet keep the money in our local economy to assist businesses that may be struggling due to the recent circumstances.”

Bulldog bucks were expected to be arriving in mailboxes in the 44413 zip code as early as Wednesday. Businesses wishing to join the Bulldog Buck stimulus project can do so by reaching out to eprivitalization@gmail.com.
