Court News

LISBON –Antonio Japel Taylor, 36, Cleveland, was sentenced in Common Pleas Court to 18 months in prison for tampering with evidence and possession of cocaine. On Aug. 31, 2019, Taylor attempted to hide from authorities the crack cocaine he was carrying, more than 10 grams, but less than 20 grams.

Travis S. Rhodes, 30, East North Avenue, East Palestine, was sentenced to a year in prison for breaking and entering, possession of drugs, two counts of possession of cocaine and two counts of aggravated possession of drugs, Rhodes had methamphetamines on Dec. 24, 2019. Then on April 16, 2020, he broke into an unoccupied structure on Carmel-Achor Road, Rogers, belonging to F. Wade Shank to commit a felony offense and had both crack cocaine and methamphetamine in his possession at that time. A multi-colored book bag was found at the Carmel-Achor Road address with Rhodes’ One Direction card. On Oct. 13, 2019, Rhodes had cocaine. Finally, Rhodes was involved in a 14-defendant indictment involving drug trafficking across the north part of the county during which he had cocaine on April 13, 2018 and pregabalin, a schedule five controlled substance used to treat nerve pain, shingles or seizures, on May 13, 2018.

Jillian J. Coppock, 23, Oak Street, Leetonia, was sentenced to six months in jail and placed on three years community control for aggravated possession of drugs. Coppock had lisdexamphetamine, which is used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, on April 27, 2019.

Municipal

LISBON — In county Municipal Court, Ryan Mathew Hoschar, 24, Boston Street, Washingtonville, was bound over to the grand jury on charges of violating a protection order, burglary, endangering children, drug abuse instruments, obstructing official business and drug paraphernalia. On Jan. 21, Hoschar entered the New Waterford home of Carly Williams, who had a protection order against him. Additionally, Hoschar allegedly left a cut straw and a bottle cap containing narcotic residue in the home, where there were two small children, ages 6 and 1, able to access them. He further is alleged to have fled from the home and police, who commanded him to stop and evaded them for about two hours. A syringe was reportedly found along the path where he fled. Hoschar’s bond is $15,000 cash or surety.

A Feb. 22 preliminary hearing was set for Thomas M. Barrett, 65, Tanglewood Drive, Salem, charged with three counts of violating a protection order, a fifth-degree felony. His ex-wife, Cynthia L. Barrett, reported he had sent her a letter when she had a protection order against him on Dec. 12, Jan. 8 and Jan. 26.

A Feb. 8 preliminary hearing and pretrial was set for Vernon G. Stone, 67, state Route 7, Rogers, charged with felonious assault, domestic violence, OVI first offense and failure to control. Stone was charged Saturday for allegedly spitting on his live-in girlfriend Georgeanne Daniluk, punching her in the back, choking her and pinning her against the wall. She then reportedly got away and was sitting in her vehicle at the end of the driveway talking to dispatchers on 911 when Stone allegedly struck her vehicle from behind with his vehicle while he was intoxicated. His bond is set at $200,000 cash or surety.

Mark A. Brewer, 44, Main Street, Wellsville, was bound over to the grand jury on charges of assault on a peace officer and resisting arrest for allegedly biting a police officer in Wellsville attempting to take him into custody on Dec. 16.

A Feb. 11 preliminary hearing was set for Lance J. Steffel, 65, last known address East Main Street, Washingtonville, charged with breaking and entering, theft and criminal trespassing for allegedly trespassing at the Causeway Campground on Saturday, taking wood from Carolyn Bishop’s campsite and starting a fire because he said he was cold and homeless. He then allegedly entered Bishop’s camper and made a bed from several items inside. His bond is set at $7,500 cash or surety.

A March 23 pretrial was set for Larry D. Caliguire II, 55, East Michigan Avenue, Salem, cited with OVI second offense, operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and a turn signals violation.

David F. Moore, 49, Duquesne Street, Columbiana, was fined $1,275, had his license suspended for a year, required to attend a three-day counseling program and ordered 40 hours community service for physical control, failure to stop following an accident and left of center.

Roy O. Moffett III, 25, Scott Drive, Alliance, was fined $975, had his license suspended for a year, was credited with 11 days in jail and sentenced to four additional days in jail for OVI first offense, driving under suspension, a taillights violation and possession of marijuana.

Lee E. Endres, 36, Steubenville Pike, Lisbon, was sentenced to six days in jail, fined $1,475, had his license suspended for a year and required 40 hours community service for OVI first offense, driving under an OVI suspension, a turn signal violation, a taillight violation and driving under FRA suspension.

Cindy Hinerman, 51, Toronto, was fined $400, had her license suspended for 180 days, required to attend a three-day counseling program and ordered 40 hours community service for marked lanes and reckless operation amended from OVI first offense.

Donnique H. Kelley, 31, Kansas City, Mo., cited a waiver of extradition so he can be returned to Missouri where he reportedly has a probation violation in a burglary case.

Homer C. Carnes Jr., 41, state Route 154, Lisbon, was credited with 19 days in jail, sentenced to an additional 81 days in jail and fined $550 for driving under suspension, unauthorized plate and assault for harming Jesus Davis on Aug. 18, leaving him with two lacerations in the back of his head.

Deanna D. Moschella, 41, Youngstown, was credited with seven days served, sentenced to an additional three days in jail, fined $250 and required 40 hours community service for obstructing justice for refusing to leave the Prospect Street, Salem, home after being told to leave numerous times when Perry Township and Salem police were about to send K-9 Simon inside looking for Steven Colian, who was inside the home on Jan. 25.

A March 15 pretrial was set for Brittany J. Mitchell, 25, Cherry Street, Salem, charged with obstructing official business for allegedly identifying herself as Brianna Mitchell during a traffic stop on Sunday.

Adam Stewart, 35, Columbia Street, Leetonia, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and a sentencing hearing was set for Feb. 16. Stewart was shouting and taunting police during a traffic stop in Washingtonville on Saturday night.

Ricky A. Wilson, 52, Adams Road, Rogers, was fined $350 for a driving under suspension citation.

A March 29 pretrial was set for Shane A. Smith, 60, West Washington Street, Lisbon, cited with possession of marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia.

ELO Muni

EAST LIVERPOOL — In East Liverpool Municipal Court, Marisa D. Weber, Lincoln Avenue, was fined $200 for driving on an FRA suspension.

Tara Jo Conn, Campground Road, Wellsville, was fined $200 for no operator’s license.

Frank C. Tice, Irish Ridge Road, was set for pretrial March 1 on charges of OVI and assured clear distance.

Michael A. Beaver, Wooster Street, had his preliminary hearing for a felony domestic violence charges continued to Thursday.

A probable cause hearing has been scheduled Thursday for David G. Gasior, Walnut Street.

Sean J. McCarthy, Commerce Street, had his pretrial on theft and possession of drug abuse instruments charges continued to Thursday.

Jay Erik Kibler, Midland, Pa., was set for pretrial Feb. 9 on a speeding charge.
