Hiscox, Simmons, Jones post top qualifying marks

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — United’s Brinsley Hiscox and Taylor Simmons and Southern’s Maddy Jones posted the top marks in the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference Class 1A-3A qualifying meet Wednesday. Hiscox topped the Class 3A girls 100-meter hurdles, while Simmons tied for the top spot in the high jump. Jones was first in the Class 1-2A girls shot put. Area teams sent only a few athletes because the Columbiana County Track and Field Meet will be held today in Salem.
