Mount Union hosts OAC softball ALLIANCE — The Ohio Athletic Conference Softball Tournament will be held today through Sunday at Mount Union’s 23rd Street Softball Field. The top-seeded Purple Raiders are 29-5 overall and 15-1 in the OAC, the lone loss to Baldwin Wallace on April 8. ST. CLAIRSVILLE — United’s Brinsley Hiscox and Taylor Simmons and Southern’s Maddy Jones posted the top marks in the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference Class 1A-3A qualifying meet Wednesday. Hiscox topped the Class 3A girls 100-meter hurdles, while Simmons tied for the top spot in the high jump. Jones was first in the Class 1-2A girls shot put. Area teams sent only a few athletes because the Columbiana County Track and Field Meet will be held today in Salem.
