HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. — Mount Union’s men’s golf team did not make the cut Wednesday the NCAA Division III Championship at Mission Resort and Club. The Purple Raiders tied for 34th a +48 through two round. Illinois Wesleyan leads the team standings at -5, three strokes ahead of Washington & Lee. United 14, Waynedale 3 HANOVERTON — No. 11 seed United had no trouble with No. 22 seed Waynedale as the Eagles cruised to a 14-3 win in a Div. VI sectional final Wednesday. Chloe Angelo sparked the Eagles with a home run, two singles and four RBIs. Brittany Miller had three hits and two RBIs. Madison Aegerter chipped in four singles and two RBIs. United 12, Lisbon 1 LISBON — The United Eagles are playing like champions. United clinched a second straight Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference baseball title outright with a 12-1 win over Lisbon in five innings Wednesday. It is the Eagles’ third EOAC title and seventh league title overall. Three Lisbon errors on United’s first six batters gave the Eagles an early 2-0 lead and senior pitcher Kadin Schonauer took over from there. EAST PALESTINE — East Palestine's softball team exploded for four runs in the third inning to defeat Kirtland 6-0 on Wednesday in a Div. VI sectional contest.
