United overpowers Waynedale

United 14, Waynedale 3

HANOVERTON — No. 11 seed United had no trouble with No. 22 seed Waynedale as the Eagles cruised to a 14-3 win in a Div. VI sectional final Wednesday.

Chloe Angelo sparked the Eagles with a home run, two singles and four RBIs. Brittany Miller had three hits and two RBIs. Madison Aegerter chipped in four singles and two RBIs. Miley Pitts and Payten Kekel had doubles.

Aegerter was the winning pitcher as she had three strikeouts and two walks in five innings.

The Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference champs (17-6) will travel to No. 6 seed Mineral Ridge on Monday for the district semifinal.

Southeast 10, Columbiana 4

RAVENNA –î Columbiana was eliminated from the Div. V sectional tournament with a 10-4 loss to Southeast on Wednesday.

Ella Eisenbraun had a single, home run and two RBIs for the Clippers. She also was the losing pitcher with no walks, no strikeouts and three earned runs over seven innings.

15th seeded Columbiana is 13-8 and is scheduled to host a regular season game with Brookfield today.

No. 12 seed Southeast advances to play at No. 3 seed Cardinal Mooney on Monday.

Loudonville 17, Crestview 6

COLUMBIANA — No. 15 seed Loudonville took down No. 13 Crestview 17-6 in five innings in a Div. VI sectional final on Wednesday.

For the Rebels, Gia Depace had a single and home run with two RBIs. Makayla McKee added three hits and an RBI.

McKee took the loss with three walks and three strikeouts in two innings.

Crestview fell to 10-12.

Loudonville will travel to No. 10 Mogadore on Monday for a district semifinal.

East Palestine 6, Kirtland 0

EAST PALESTINE –î East Palestine’s softball team exploded for four runs in the third inning to defeat Kirtland 6-0 on Wednesday in a Div. VI sectional contest.

Kennedy Andre went the distance for the 17th seeded Bulldogs with eight strikeouts and a walk.

Graycee Ford had a double and single to lead the Bulldogs. Sydney Jurjavcic and Andre had two hits each.

Kirtland was the 24th seed.

East Palestine (9-9) will travel to No. 1 seed McDonald for a district semifinal on Monday.

Poland 15, Southern 3

POLAND –î Southern Local had trouble getting much going in a 15-3 loss to Poland in a Div. V sectional contest on Wednesday.

Raelea Carosiello had two hits and an RBI for the Indians. Riley Digman had a double.

Addy Martin took the loss with eight walks and three strikeouts over three innings.

No. 17 seed Poland will travel No. 7 LaGrange Keystone on Monday for a district semifinal.

Southern is 6-13.

Rittman 12, Wellsville 10

WELLSVILLE –î Wellsville rallied back from three runs down in the seventh to tie the game against Rittman in a Div. VII sectional game on Wednesday, but the Indians put two across in the eighth to win 12-10.

For the Tigers, Makayla Landess had a double and was also the losing pitcher with 11 strikeouts and a walk in eight innings.

No. 16 seed Wellsville is 5-14.

No. 17 Rittman will travel to No. 1 Maplewood on Monday.
