ST. CLAIRSVILLE — East Liverpool senior Kailynn Kirby leaped to a third straight regional berth Wednesday. Kirby placed fourth at the St. Clairsville Division III district track and field meet, clearing 4-foot-10. The top four finishers in each event advance to the regional meet at Muskingum University next week. She was the only local regional qualifier on Wednesday. ANDOVER — Southern senior Maddy Jones and United sophomore Taylor Simmons are aiming for more than a district championship. Both won events at the Pymatuning Valley Division IV district track and field meet Wednesday. Jones — who qualified for state in the shot put and discus last year and in the discus as a freshman — won the district shot put title with a toss of 37-feet-1 on her first attempt.
