CUYAHOGA HEIGHTS — Heartland Christian sophomore Claire Liposky and East Palestine junior Braydon Plum made history at the Cuyahoga Heights Division V regional track and field meet Saturday. Liposky won the discus with a toss of 141-feet-6 on her first attempt — the best by a Columbiana county girl since 2019. She added a 136-8 on her third attempt. NEW CONCORD — East Liverpool senior Maddox Roach gave everything he had in his best event. Roach was first in the 1600-meter run at the Division III regional track and field meet Saturday at Muskingum University. He ran a season-best time of 4 minutes, 15.42 seconds, to win by 2 1/2 seconds. Minerva senior Rowen Hoffee finished fourth (a season-best 4:20.72). SALEM — The Salem Quakers have found a new league. “We’re happy to be in the Northeast 8,” Salem athletic director Matt Freeman said. The official announcement came Friday afternoon.
