NEW CONCORD — East Liverpool senior Maddox Roach gave everything he had in his best event. Roach was first in the 1600-meter run at the Division III regional track and field meet Saturday at Muskingum University. He ran a season-best time of 4 minutes, 15.42 seconds, to win by 2 1/2 seconds. Minerva senior Rowen Hoffee finished fourth (a season-best 4:20.72). Roach was seventh and Hoffee 13th at the state meet last year. SALEM — The Salem Quakers have found a new league. “We’re happy to be in the Northeast 8,” Salem athletic director Matt Freeman said. The official announcement came Friday afternoon.
