Schonauer finished off Tuesday’s victory with a two-hitter — giving up singles to Kealin Simon and Brad Bartels — with 10 strikeouts and five walks in five innings.

Nine players scored for the Eagles, including six with multiple runs.

The game had been suspended Friday due to lightning and rain with the Eagles leading 7-0 in the bottom of the seventh inning. The Eagles had already scored five runs in the second inning and added six more when the game resumed.

Taylor scored on a wild pitch and two more runs scored on a singled up the middle by Simmons to make it 10-0.

The Bulldogs got two outs with the bases loaded, but a fly ball was dropped in the outfield scoring two more runs. Taylor followed with an RBI double to deep left field to give the Eagles a 13-0 lead through two innings.

Peyton Rutledge started Tuesday’s game for the Bulldogs, allowing four runs, one earned, on three hits with one strikeout and three walks in two innings. Ryhlon Corbin pitched the final inning, allowing two earned runs on two hits with one walk.

East Palestine drops to 0-2 overall and in league play, both losses to United.

Both teams will play today at United hosts Leetonia and East Palestine entertains Columbiana.
