Columbiana 12, East Palestine 2
COLUMBIANA — Fresh off a trip to Myrtle Beach, the Columbiana baseball team got back to work with a 12-2 win over East Palestine on Monday at Firestone Park.
Avery Young had two hits for the winners with an RBI. Hunter Davanzo added.a double and two RBIs. Drennen Bosela had two hits and an RBI. Nick Klindworth had three hits and an RBI.
Young was the winning pitcher with six strikeouts and a walk across four innings.
Kealin Simon had a double for the Bulldogs.
Brad Bartels was the losing pitcher with six walks, one earned run and a strikeout in 3 2/3 innings.
Columbiana is 2-4 overall and 1-0 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference.
East Palestine (0-2 overall and 0-2 EOAC) will host Columbiana again Tuesday.

United 20, Leetonia 0
LEETONIA — Quentin Taylor had three hits including a double with four RBIs as United clipped Leetonia 20-0 in five innings on Monday.
Jason Pratt limited Leetonia to two hits while striking out nine and walking two in five innings.
Wyatt Swanson had four RBIs without getting a hit, while Nick Lutes had a single, double and three RBIs. Kadin Schonauer added two hits and an RBI. Ayden Bradley and Mason Everly had doubles.
Jason King took the loss for Leetonia as he struck out one and walked five in 1 2/3 innings.
United (3-1, 2-0 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference) hosts East Palestine today.
Leetonia is 0-2 overall and 0-2 in the EOAC.
Leetonia will go to United on Wednesday.

Southern 25, Wellsville 11
WELLSVILLE — In a game with 11 errors and 35 walks combined Southern Local came out on top with a 25-11 win over Wellsville on Monday in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference play.
For the Indians, Mason Sosack and Mason Pitts each had a double and four RBIs. Jaylen Pitts also had a double.
For Wellsville, Ethan Morris had a triple, single and two RBIs. Austin Watkins had two hits and two RBIs.
Mason Pitts was the winning pitcher with six strikeouts and five walks over 2 2/3 innings.
Watkins took the loss with nine walks and a strikeout over an inning.
Southern is 2-1 overall and 2-0 in the EOAC. Wellsville is 0-2 overall and 0-2 in the league.
The two teams will be at Southern on Wednesday.

Beaver Local 5, Brooke 2
WELLSBURG, W.Va. — Beaver Local’s baseball team got three hits including a double with three RBIs from Paxton Grimes in a 5-2 win over Brooke on Monday.
Grimes also was the winning pitcher with seven strikeouts and two walks in a complete game effort.
Beaver Local is 3-1 and will be at Madonna today.

SALEM — Ursuline and Salem played a marathon game that ended under the lights with the Irish coming out on top 15-11 on Monday.
Bairon Exline had two home runs and three RBIs for the Quakers. Braydon Van Dyne added three hits including a home run and an RBI. Ben Kuboff had a hit and three RBIs.
Jaxson Douglas was the losing pitcher as he game up five runs in the first inning with four walks and two strikeouts.
Ursuline had 15 hits including a home run from Rowan Urbach.
The game finished at around 9:30 p.m.
Salem (1-2) is at Alliance today.

WINTERSVILLE — James Brothers struck out nine while giving up just three hits in Indian Creek’s 9-0 win over East Liverpool on Monday.
Dre Brown, Carstin Suznevich and Elliott Fitch had hits for the Potters.
Noah Kinsey was the losing pitcher with two strikeouts and a walk in three innings.
East Liverpool (1-6) hosts Indian Creek on Wednesday.

NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. — Oak Glen’s James Rohbeck had quite the day against Steubenville Catholic Central on Monday as he had two triples, a double and nine RBIs to lead the Golden Bears to a 14-4 win in five innings.
Josh Maher added three hits. Christian Chappell had two hits and two RBIs.
Maher was the winning pitcher with five strikeouts and three walks over four innings.
Oak Glen (4-8) is at Weir High today.
