Eagles place sixth at sectional
KENT — United’s girls bowling team placed sixth on Sunday at the Div. II sectional bowling tournament at Spins Bowl.
The Eagles scored 2,889 on the day. Zariah Elrod was the top Eagle with a 447 series which was good enough for 19th. Keira Bryan took 21st with a 441 series.
Heartland Christian’s top bowler was Wade Morgan who took 35th (392). The Lions finished 11th as a team (2,484)
The four team district qualifiers were East Canton (3,395), Rootstown (3,257), Canton Central Catholic (3,132) and Garfield (3,092). Individual qualifiers not on a qualifying team were Springfield’s Madison Knox (583), Triway’s Savannah Starcher (547), Ravenna’s Zoey LeMasters (531) and Triway’s Aubriegh Banfield (481).
The girls district tournament is set for Feb. 21 at Rebman Recreation in Lorain.
The top four district teams and four individuals not on a team will qualify for the Div. II state bowling tournament set for Feb. 28 at HP Lanes in Columbus.
