Lisbon teams up on Liberty

LISBON — Lisbon’s boys basketball team turned in an entertaining effort during the ‘Hoops at Noon’ game against Liberty on Friday.
In front of a large crowd which contained many in the student body of Lisbon schools, Blaine Barnes had 21 points and six rebounds in the Devils’ 72-48 win.
AJ Ramgeet had 19 points, six assists and five steals. Logan Sturgeon chipped in 14 points and eight rebounds. Aidan Ramgeet had 13 points and six assists.
The Devils (2-1) are set to host Southern on Tuesday. Liberty is 0-2.

CALCUTTA — Beaver Local scored 27 points in the third quarter to pull away from Buckeye Local for a 68-38 win Friday.
The Beavers improve to 2-0, while the Wildcats drop to 0-3.
Owen Hill topped the Beavers with a game-high 22 points, including 6-of-6 from the foul line in the third quarter. Luke Rettis added 15 points and Aiden Dray scored eight of his 11 points in the third quarter.
Haden Wilhelm paced the Panthers with 16 points.
Beaver Local also won the junior varsity game, 53-36.
Both teams play Tuesday with Beaver Local at Minerva and Buckeye Local at Indian Creek.
2-0 at Minerva on Tuesday.

Collin Kalaher led the Lions with 32 points.
Jeron Jackson tallied 16 for the Tigers.
Heartland is at Warren JFK on Tuesday.
Wellsville is 0-2 and will be at Steubenville Central today.

Edison 71,Southern 34
SALINEVILLE — It was a rough start to the new campaign for Southern Local as Edison ran away with a 71-34 win on Friday in boys basketball action.
Southern got eight points and seven boards from Mason Pitts. Landen Heffner and Jacob McCurdy had seven points each. Jack Pitts chipped in six points, four rebounds and four assists.
Edison won the two quarter jayvee game, 25-7.
Southern is at Lisbon on Tuesday.

The Vikings led 36-20 at the break and limited Crestview to 10 total points in the second half.
Crestview (0-1) will host Urban Scholars on Tuesday.

ALLIANCE — Alliance used a 28-point second quarter to dominate Salem 76-46 on Friday in Eastern Buckeye Conference action.
For Salem, Deontay Steele had 16 points to lead the way. Cam Martin had six rebounds. Ty Manion added five rebounds.
Salem is 0-1 and 0-1 in the EBC. The Quakers are at Struthers on Tuesday.

For the Warriors, Jeremiah Thomas had 23 points, while Gavin Gregory added 11 points. Kasen Weaver had 10 points as well.
For Minerva, Skylar Lab had 14 points. Minerva fell to 1-1 and 0-1 in the EBC.
West Branch (1-2, 1-0 in the EBC) will host Marlington next Friday.
