Kellogg sparkles for Indians
NEW MATAMORAS — Katie Kellogg’s high school career is already off to a spectacular start.
The Southern Local freshman had 43 points, six rebounds, eight assists and seven steals in the Indians’ 84-40 win over Frontier on Saturday.
She also tied the school record for threes made in a game with eight. Southern senior Allyssa Schroades also shares that record.
Shroades chipped in 15 points, three rebounds and two assists. Makenna Jones had nine points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Southern is 3-0 and will open league play today at United.

ALLIANCE — Alliance hung on for a 42-39 win over East Palestine on Saturday in girls basketball action.
Jacklyn Ogle led the Bulldogs with 16 points and three steals. Destiney Burtyk added 10 points and two assists. Marley Blythe and Amara Wilson had seven rebounds each.
The Bulldogs (0-2) host East Palestine today.
Alliance is 1-1.
