Bertovich honored
BEAVER FALLS, Pa. — Geneva College senior guard Jonathan Bertovich is having a breakout season.
Bertovich, who starred at Heartland Christian and East Palestine high schools, was named the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday after leading the Golden Tornadoes to back-to-back wins to open PAC play last week.
He leads the PAC with 3.7 three-pointers made per game and a .465 three-point percentage. He also has a game-high 17.4 points and 3.6 assists a game.
Geneva is 5-4 and the Golden Tornadoes are off until Dec. 29
Alliance frosh win
ALLIANCE — Alliance topped West Branch, 35-25, in freshman boys basketball action Monday.
Leaders for the Warriors were Logan Hawk with 10 points, Dane Martucci six and Judah Kutz five.
West Branch (0-3) will play at Carrollton on Thursday.
Potter girls roll
WELLLSBURG, W.Va. — East Liverpool’s girl bowling team was a 1,452-1,091 winner over Brooke on Monday at Brooke Lanes II. For the Potters, Danni Riggle led with a 176 high game and a 324 series.
