Columbiana’s streak ends in Dalton

DALTON — Columbiana had its six game-winning streak snapped with a 43-7 loss to Dalton in a Division VI playoff opener Friday.

The sixth-seeded Bulldogs won for the fifth time in the last six games to improve to 8-4. They suffered losses to Smithville, Hillsdale and Norwayne, which combined for a a 25-5 record in the regular season.

Dalton led 18-0 at halftime and put 18 more points on the scoreboard in the third quarter for a 36-0 advantage.

The Bulldogs will play third-seeded Columbia Station Columbia (9-1) at 7 p.m. Friday. The Raiders’ only loss was to Lorain Clearview, 27-21, on Oct. 17.

The 11th-seeded Clippers finish the season at 7-4, including losses to Lowellville, McDonald and United.
