Clippers get first victory
CALCUTTA — Columbiana’s girls basketball team picked up its first win of the season with a 47-10 win over Beaver Local on Wednesday.
Annah Clemmer powered the Clippers with 17 points. Evy Rapp added 13 points.
Columbiana and Beaver Local are both 1-1.
Ally Wright tallied four points for the Beavers.
Beaver Local won the two quarter jayvee game, 10-5. Macie Bourne had eight points for the winners. Josie Hepler had five points for the Clippers.
Columbiana is at Wellsville on Monday. Beaver Local is at Edison on Monday.

BRIDGEPORT — Lisbon’s girls basketball team improved to 2-0 with a 47-23 win over Bridgeport on Monday.
The Blue Devils jumped out to an 18-5 lead after one quarter and were up 32-9 at halftime.
Lylah Brown led Lisbon with 15 points and eight rebounds. Jayden Smyth added 12 points, five assists, six steals and a block. Bridgett Newbold scored eight points, while Maddi Klein had six and Eme Cook added three.
Lisbon will host Valley Christian on Dec. 1.

WELLSVILLE — Wellsville’s boys basketball team opened the season with a 56-47 loss to rival Toronto on Wednesday.
Andrew Mackey led the Tigers with 16 points and 12 boards, Darnell Roe added 13 points. Jeron Jackson chipped in eight points and five assists. Clayten Kersey had six boards.
Wellsville won the jayvee portion, 47-30. Cooper Frank paced the winners with 15 points.
Wellsville will be at Heartland Christian on Dec. 5.
