Clemmer scores twice to lift Clips past Bears

COLUMBIANA — Columbiana’s girls soccer team scored a 2-1 win over Oak Glen on Tuesday.
Annah Clemmer tallied Columbiana’s first goal on a long shot from the left side four minutes into the match. She added the Clippers’ second goal later in the first half to put her team up 2-0.
Angelina Polly scored for Oak Glen with an assist from Ashtyn Tharp. The score was 2-1 at half.
Columbiana moved to 1-1-1, while Oak Glen fell to 0-4.
“Our girls worked hard tonight,” Oak Glen coach Bill Watts said. The coaching staff continues to see improvement in key areas. We’ll make some small adjustments over the next few days and be ready for Saturday.”
Columbiana hosts United on Thursday.
Oak Glen will host Fairmont Senior on Saturday.
Beaver Local 8, Cambridge 0
CAMBRIDGE — Beaver Local stayed unbeaten with an 8-0 road win over Cambridge in girls soccer Tuesday night.
Peyton Dunn led the Beavers (4-0) with three goals. Riley Springer added two goals and an assist, while Ally Wright chipped in a goal and an assist. Leah Stewart and Ralyn Gilson also scored.
Assists came from Sophia Smith and Natalie Woodyard, and goalkeeper Tatum Duncan made one save in the shutout.
Beaver Local will host St. Clairsville on Thursday.
Springfield 4, Crestview 1
NEW MIDDLETOWN — Springfield bested Crestview’s girls soccer team 4-1 on Tuesday.
Shelby Wellman had the Rebel goal. Clarice Harroff had nine saves.
Crestview is 1-1-1 and hosts United on Wednesday.
West Branch 7, Warren Harding 0
WARREN — West Branch’s boys soccer team moved to 4-0 with a 7-0 win over Warren Harding on Tuesday.
West Branch was led by Gavin Clemens’ three goals and an assist. Reed Martucci added two goals and an assist. Mason Thomas and Dane Martucci had single goals. Leon Gonzalez and Kasen Weaver had single assists.
Lance Myers had a save in goal.
East Liverpool 1, Cambridge 1
EAST LIVERPOOL — East Liverpool’s boys soccer team played to a 1-1 draw against Cambridge on Tuesday.
Isaac Christian scored for the Potters.
East Liverpool is 1-1-1 and will host Steubenville on Thursday.
