Using police for COVID noncompliance is ridiculous

To the editor: I would like to sound off by saying that people in community need to use the police for what they are intended for. They do not have time to investigate people not complying with COVID-19 and people not wearing masks or not social distancing. The police have much more important issues especially in a small community where their funds are limited. They are drastically underpaid and overworked. I would hate to think I would need them for a serious issue and they were investigating someone complaining about not wearing a mask. Grow up people and mind your own business. ...

To the editor: On Aug. 19, the President of the United States gave us the following directive via a tweet: “Don’t buy GOODYEAR TIRES — They announced a BAN ON MAGA HATS. Get better tires for far less! (This is what Radical Left Democrats do. Two can play the same game, and we have to start playing it now!)” Goodyear is an American company headquartered in Akron, Ohio. Goodyear had decided to remain apolitical. Resident will not back down from ‘cowards’

To the editor: The good people of Columbiana County need to hear this. There are a few of us supporting Black Americans with Black Lives Matter signs in our yards. In response, we are receiving cowardly anonymous letters in the mail that spout right wing conspiracy theory, newspaper articles written by racist conservative columnists and other hateful rhetoric. To the editor: Thank you everyone who supported in any way the success of the 17th annual Lowell Iden Memorial Breakfast and Trap Shoot. The Salem Hunting Club hosted this event on Aug. 1 This year we gave four Lowell Iden-Larry Iler Scholarships to local students.
