To the editor: This letter is in response to Dr. Walter Dombroski in his letter to the editor printed Dec. 23 on his question whether American government and history is now being taught to high school students. I graduated from Salem High School, class of 1959. This is the way the teacher taught the class I was a student in: Teacher: “Open book and quietly read chapter XX. Questions for Green Township officials

To the editor: I wonder which of our Green Township officials suggested the township help cover the legal fees for Diane Less in reference to the proposed bike trail. It stands to reason when Green Township receives an invoice from Atty. Carl James, who is also Less’ attorney, will cover legal expenses on the proposed bike trail. Less has been fighting this proposal for the last few months. The Green Township trustees have always had good legal advice from the Mahoning County Prosecutor’s Office at no cost to the township. To the editor: Jules Witcover’s quote on your Dec. 14 opinion page stated, “They picked a common-sense straight arrow” referring to Biden. Martha Raditch, on Sunday’s ABC News stated, “inequivalently, this has been a free and fair election.” Really? Compare those opinions with, “With reference to the presidential election, 30 million American citizens can’t be wrong. Creer’s editorials on his Christmas memories from the past and present, and providing a road map of how to live your life that will be full of ups and downs. To the editor: On December 24, I was shopping a local super market (Aldi) with my sister. We were buying a few groceries for our elderly parents. While shopping and looking at all the holiday goodies and checking for deals I heard a man’s voice say “sir, sir, sir...” I was not paying attention and was pushing my cart and heard it again so I stopped.
