Encourages a “YES” vote on Issue 1

To the editor: Took the time to google the ballot language for Issue 1 on the Ohio Secretary of State website. There I found not only the specific language but also the text of the current law with the proposed changes laid out in context. After seeing what I have on the opposing side of the issue and very little up to now in support, I would have concluded the Issue 1 was to be an infringement of our rights as citizens of Ohio. To the editor: In 2022, the US Supreme Court overturned Roe vs. Wade, the landmark piece of legislation that made access to abortion a federal right in the United States. The reversal of Roe vs. Wade has given states the authority to set their own reproductive health policies, meaning that these laws now vary widely; women in some states will have access to personally chosen reproductive health care and those in others will not. To the editor: I have somewhat gotten a more “peaceful feeling” since our Congress and “the man in the White House,” through “many tough negotiations,” averted a national debt ceiling crisis. For example, delay in Social Security, to which it is said that almost 60 percent of those retired is their only source of income; a passing out of IOUs to those in the military; and to this and that, because our country runs on credit. To the editor: Staying abreast of the recent railroad tragedy and knowing some of the citizens affected in East Palestine, I recently read in “The Review” about the legal clinic held by the River Valley Organizing, Timothea Deeter, to assist residents. To the editor: I am reaching out to ask all Ohio voters to cast a resounding “NO” vote on Issue 1 when it comes up for consideration on August 8th 2023. This proposed measure carries significant implications for the well-being of working individuals and members of labor unions across our state. Dear Editor: I am urging county voters to vote “yes” on Issue One in the upcoming special election of August 8th (early voting beginning July 11th) if only to protect Ohio’s state constitution from out of state special interests like that of leftist billionaire George Soros.
