County Dem Chairman: ‘No” on Issue 1

To the editor: I am writing this letter to encourage all fellow Ohioans to vote No on Issue 1. Issue 1 is an attempt to limit the voice and power of the average voter. Regardless of your politics we all can agree that everyone’s vote counts equally. That would end if Issue 1 passes. Issue 1 raises the bar on the average citizen to require 60% for victory. To the editor: We are urging county voters to vote “NO” on Issue 1! This is in response to the letter to the editor by Columbiana County Republican Chairman David Johnson. He states that Ohio’s Constitution is in danger of being compromised by out-of-state interests. When in fact, voting “NO” on Issue 1 will safeguard Ohio’s Constitution. Encourages a “YES” vote on Issue 1

To the editor: Took the time to google the ballot language for Issue 1 on the Ohio Secretary of State website. There I found not only the specific language but also the text of the current law with the proposed changes laid out in context. After seeing what I have on the opposing side of the issue and very little up to now in support, I would have concluded the Issue 1 was to be an infringement of our rights as citizens of Ohio.
