Protect parents: Vote no on Issue One for abortion rights

As a father of three young women doing my best along with my wife Lauren to raise them amid today’s mixed-up culture, there is so much to be concerned about. What messages are they getting about the world outside from the shows they watch? What will it be like when they are old enough to date? And what will it take to raise up smart, courageous, independent women? Upset with cemetery policy

To the editor: Hello, my name is James J. Taylor, a former resident of Wellsville whose parents, grandparents and other relatives are buried at Spring Hill Cemetery. Recently, I have learned that the cemetery has removed all previous grave decorations from each grave, and are now limiting grave decorations to just seven days before and after a holiday. For several reasons, I am deeply concerned with these latest actions and hope that the Village of Wellsville will consider returning to the previous cemetery rules. To the editor: I moved to the city of Salem back in 1995. My grandmother and great aunt lived her. I remember coming to Salem as a child with my mother every week. My mother and her siblings graduated from Salem. I stayed, got married and had children. Our first child was born in 1999. My husband and I lived within the city limits until 2004. I have never had issues with Salem. We just wanted to move a little further out to give our children more yard to play in and to avoid the traffic and noise. To the editor: I read with great interest the recent anonymous op-ed regarding Rep. Stoltzfus proposed House Bill 240 which would allow public schools in Ohio to employ chaplains. The negative tenor of the opinion was clearly reflected in the title and served to communicate to the reader great concern and alarm over the possibility that students in Ohio might actually be exposed to “faith” in public schools. To the editor: As the Senate prepares to consider the 2023 Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Reauthorization bill, I encourage our Ohio senators to support modernizing the outdated perimeter rule and adding more flights to and from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). The current perimeter rule is hurting the Washington, D.C. air travel market. It hampers healthy competition, resulting in high consumer costs for Ohioans and travelers across the country.
