Charlene Rayl

1945-2026

Charlene Rayl, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Feb. 17, 2026, in her hometown of East Liverpool, Ohio. Born on Sept. 22, 1945, Charlene lived a full life of 80 years, cherished by her family and friends.

Charlene devoted her life to her family as a homemaker, creating a warm and welcoming home that once coordinated five generations under a single roof. Her love for her family was boundless, especially for her grandchildren, who she adored and cherished deeply.

Charlene had a gentle spirit and found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including feeding the birds and caring for her beloved dogs. She was an enthusiastic collector of gnomes and Fiestaware, delighting in the charm and color they brought into her home.

Preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Charlotte (Hurley) Carroll, her loving husband of nearly 60 years, Frank “Ed” Rayl, whom she married on June 8, 1963, and her son, T.J. (Jayne) Rayl, Charlene is now reunited with them in peace.

She leaves behind a loving family, including her sons Doug (Lisa) and Frank Jr. (Carrie) Rayl; her grandchildren Jocelyn (Phillip) Davis, Audree (Kris) Grimes, Cody (Monica) Rayl, Austin (Cassidy) Miner, and Noah (Jordan) Miner; and her great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Murphy, Emerson, Brecken, and Lainey, who will all carry forward her legacy of love and togetherness.

In keeping with Charlene’s wishes, no formal services have been scheduled. The Martin Chapel of Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists in Calcutta, Ohio, has been entrusted with the final arrangements.

The family of Charlene would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staff at Calcutta Healthcare and Southern Care Hospice for their compassionate care and support.

Charlene’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
