Sophia Kelly

1927-2025

Sophia Kelly, 97, of East Palestine, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, at Covington Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation.

She was born on Dec. 7, 1927, in Beaver Falls, Pa., to the late Julius and Alexandria (Roginska) Kompa. She attended Our Lady of the Lourdes Parish in East Palestine Ohio. In Sophia’s pastime she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and reading. She loved taking care of her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, William Kelly; and her siblings, John Kompa, Chester Kompa, Helen Palyash, Eleanor Jansto, Jane Thompson, and Lottie Bedekovich.

Sophia is survived by her daughters, Karen (Dannie) McCuean and Linda (Dale) Androlia; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Don) Gaulden, Dale (Jennifer) Androlia Jr., and Christopher (Shawna) Androlia; and her great-grandchildren, Heather Sommer, Sarah Jaine (Wyatt) Fenner, Easton, Sarah Kathryn, Hunter, Cooper, and Braedon; a great-great-grandchild, Stetson.

Friends will be received on Oct. 30 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Gabauer-Lutton Funeral home and Cremation Services Inc., 117 Blackhawk Road Beaver Falls Pa 15010 where prayers will be held on Oct. 31 at 10:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at Our Lady of the Lourdes Roman Catholic Parish, 210 E. Main St., East Palestine, OH 44413. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beaver Fall, Pa.
