Marjorie Jane Gallo

Marjorie Jane Gallo, 92, died Thursday, January 12, 2023, with her loving son Frank and daughter-in-law Vicki by her side at Continuing Healthcare of Lisbon.

Marjorie was born May 10, 1930 to the late Laige Walter and Jean Fern (Burton) Chestnut and lived in Lisbon her entire life. She was a 1948 graduate of David Anderson High School. She was married to Thomas F. Gallo on August 21, 1948.

In the community, Marjorie worked at EDI Central, Sheltered Workshop, for 27 years as a bus driver and a workshop specialist, retiring in 1994. She also owned and operated Gallo’s Chainsaw Service along with her late husband. Starting in 1960, she could be seen helping her sister-in-law, the late Mary Spadaro, and more recently her great nephews Stephen and Michael Garofalo at Mary’s Pizza Shop. Marjorie was a member of St. George Parish and the VFW Post 4111.

To cherish her memory, she leaves her sons Anthony, Frank (Vicki), Thomas Michael and her daughter Katherine Merrill. She leaves her cherished nieces Rosalind Garofalo, Dian Louise Hall Moore, and Cynthia Jean Hall (Richard) Coppersmith, great nieces and nephews, and many great-great nieces and nephews. She leaves her grandchildren Frank Gallo Jr, Amelia and Frances Merrill, Michelle Pudder and Daniel Davis. She leaves five great-grandchildren, Ethan, Monroe, Mackenzie, Devan and Michaela. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, her sister, Joanna Corfee, and great-grandson, Dylan.

A memorial service will be held at St. George Parish, 271 W. Chestnut Street, Lisbon, OH on Saturday, April 29th at 10:00 am. After the committal at the cemetery, there will be a luncheon reception at the church hall provided by the Altar and Rosary Society.
