Richard ‘Pip’ Scott
1957-2023
NEGLEY — Richard “Pip” Scott, 65, passed away February 16, 2023 at his residence in Negley after a courageous battle with cancer.
Pip was born June 19, 1957, in New Brighton, Pa. son of the late Ralph and Phyllis Brown Scott. He was raised in Pennsylvania where he resided until moving to Negley in 1991.
He was a proud US Army veteran with over four years of service. Pip was a lifetime member of the New Galilee VFW Post 8106. He worked as an independent truck driver his entire career until 2017 when he joined the Teamsters Union and worked as a truck driver for the “Cracker Plant” in Monaca until he became ill and could no longer drive.
Pip was preceded in death by his wife Pong Hi Lee in 1980; a brother, Ronald Scott as well as his parents.
He is survived by his partner of 32 years, Melinda “Moe” Kane of Negley; two “children” he helped raise, Nicholas and Hillary Kane; two brothers, Robert (Nancy) Scott of Industry, Pa.; Randy Scott of Coraopolis, Pa.; four sisters, Debra Dunlap of Freedom, Pa., Denise Yanjovich of Enon Valley, Pa., Donna (Russ) Mixter of Moon Twp., Dronda Scott of Morgantown, W.Va.; several grandchildren and one great-grandson.
A memorial service and celebration of Pip’s life will be announced by the family at a later date.
Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine is in charge of arrangements.
