Martin ‘Marti’ Hanley
Martin “Marti” Hanley, 59, of Salineville, Ohio, passed away on Jan. 22, 2022 at Salem Community Hospital after battling cancer and Covid-19.
He was born in Salineville on Feb. 20, 1962, a son of the late John Hanley and Grace (Starky) Hanley.
Having lived all his life in the area, Marti was a graduate of Southern Local High School Class of 1982, was a member of the former St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Salineville and had been employed for the past 16 years as a custodian for United Local Schools. Marti loved to hunt and fish. Most importantly he loved to spend time with his family and grandchildren.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Laurie Hanley whom he married July 16, 1988; two daughters, Amber Hanley of Salineville and Kelli (Isaac) Champ of East Liverpool; his twin sister and best friend, Marci Hanley of Salineville; a brother, Michael (Debbie) Hanley of Winona, Ohio; two grandchildren, Isabella Hanley and Lannan Champ; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Marti was preceded in death by a brother, John Hanley Jr and an infant brother.
Services will be held at the Kerr Watson Funeral Home on Tuesday at 3 p.m. with Pastor Don Sheen of the Harvest By Faith Ministry officiating.
Family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1 p.m. up until the time of service at 3 p.m.
