The Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award Program was established by the Ohio Educational Service Center Association (OESCA) to promote and recognize outstanding academic achievement. One senior from the county in Ohio receives this annual honor and Zach Redman has been nominated as Beaver Local High School’s representative.
Recipients demonstrate outstanding academic achievement as indicated by high school grades, test scores, and school activities and awards. Educational service centers that are multi-county agencies are to select one high school senior from each county in their service area. CCESC also hosted each school’s nominee at the Heads Above the Rest presentation in April to announce the Columbiana County Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Scholarship Recipient.
The Heads Above the Rest distinction was awarded to county seniors at the recognition ceremony who scored a 31 or higher on the ACT. These students were also awarded $100 scholarships in recognition of their exceptional test performance. The Beaver Local students were Zach Redman, Luke Rettos and Ashton Baker.
